The place was roach-infested! I arrived to find a pile of dirt and a broom in the middle of the living room floor. When I took a closer look it wasn't just dirt it was about a dozen roaches. I swept the mess up and figured the place was fumigated recently. But when I looked in each cupboard I found live roaches in each. The place was infested. The wifi did not work and the rest of the place was not really cleaned. I reached out to the host requesting my money back. But he sent me on a trek to a few other rooms in the same building. Every room had roaches, it was late so I settled for the one with the least roaches, since it was clear that the host wasn't going to reimburse me. I was so disgusted that I cleaned the entire apartment and put all food, fruits, protein powder, cooking utensils, etc in the fridge. I washed all the bedding after waking up to a roach climbing all over me. The mattress had several dark brown and yellow stains all over it. It looked disgusting and should be replaced or cleaned deeply. The host replied quickly to all of my queries but that as far as it went. No effort was put into remedieing the issues I outlined above. I asked for a garage pass and a mop, that was a bridge to far for them. In closing, I'd say having to pay, in this case, over 6,000 upfront without seeing the place makes it possible for a "slumlord" to thrive. This was my first and last time using VRBO..
