Hot and I inconvenienced

The rental company changed twice since booking. I wasn’t notified of the last change in companies so when I was locked out for 2 hours after a 12 hour flight I had know one to call. Finally after someone answered their cell phone they were able to find the right code to get inside. The placed smelled of cleaning supplies you couldn’t breathe. There was no air conditioning and my daughter had to sleep with a bag of ice. When I called the new rental agent they kept saying it was the responsibility of the previous rental agent. The finger pointing between the two agencies never ended. Instead of fixing the problem. The pull out couch was horrible and the place is in need af repairs. Aside from my unit the development was nice and in a great location to everything.

Fantastic Vacation Rental!

We were super excited to walk into such a lovely place, complete with vaulted ceilings, loads of windows, decks, and tons of "extras" already stocked for us! It was a cozy, clean, and light-filled home for our week's stay! The A/C was wonderful and the short walk to the beach EASY! The whole complex was super clean, amazingly well taken care of and the communication and help of the on-site managing team was 5 star! We will be back! Thanks you all so much!

no communication from Destination Residence to even confirm reservation

I paid in full for reservation Feb 5-12/2020..I NEVER received ANY confirmation of reservation and no communication from intermediary booking agency Destination Residences. Reservation did not even show up on VRBO.com website even though I made reservation through VRBO.com. NO communication from Destination Residences or VRBO.com or VRBO.ca after full payment June 2021 or anytime before check in before check in day for where to go how to access unit. Two days after I was supposed to check in FEb 7, I only got email through VRBO.ca 2 days after initial check in day as to whether I was still coming. Destination Residences said they were sending me confirming text to phone number they had. They didn't have my email ???..why. Happened to be private office landline which wouldn't accept text and should reject and show sender was landline...if sender bothered to even look.(which obviously Destination residences hadn't ). They said they couldn't email but all my info is on file with VBRO.com they just had to ask for it. Totally botched reservation and good example to condo owners of what happens with too many middle men taking cut in profits.This reservation NEVER confirmed., NO contract received...I should be getting FULL refund because of failure to even confirm or NEVER notify anything until two days AFTER supposed check in. I have many reservations with VRBO.com and they all when smoothly when owner is directly involved. This is a good lesson to owners not to sublet to other middlemen. Even attitude from Dave at Destination Residences was very poor and very aggressive. A lesson to owners to be warned. I did reservation in good faith. I should not be held responsible to this poor service. I should get full refund for failure to even supply contract and No notifications of reservation.

Wonderful location

The only negative things I can say is thought we would have bbq on lanai as photo showed but all bbqs taken out. Also trash and bottles dumped out near parking lot. Room itself was great had everything you would need. The dryer may need a new belt was pretty loud. Would still recommend this unit. Easy access to a wonderful beach through the parking lot. Only thing that got tiresome was entering a code to get into and out of pools and also on the front door. Loved the pool closer to unit but has no restroom. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your unit.

Wonderful stay at Ekahi Village

We had a fantastic stay in this lovely condo. It was exactly as described, with a well-stocked kitchen and two lanais. The condo was very clean when we arrived except for the BBQ which required a good scrubbing by my husband before we could use it. The rental process was managed through Denstination Resorts and the rep was easy to deal with and very helpful and check-in process was also simple. The condo was quiet and did not have any of the traffic noise which is an issue for many of the other units at this large complex. Beautiful Keawakapu beach is a few minutes walk as is the large common pool. I would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it for others looking to rent in the Wailea area.

Most of the year we live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Veronica is a practicing marriage and family therapist, Dan is retired from a Silicon Valley company.

Our first trip to Hawaii was more than three decades ago. Since then we have come back almost every year ultimately visiting all the Islands and gradually falling in love with Hawaii, in particular with Maui. We discovered Wailea, and its wonderful beaches in the early 1990's.. Initially we stayed in hotels, but soon realized that condominiums were much more comfortable for us. After renting several different units at Ekahi Village, we decided on 20J when it became available.

Our property is professionally managed by Destination Residences Hawai‘i, part of Destination Hotels. They offer the largest selection of vacation residences on the luxurious destination of Wailea and Makena along Maui’s southern coastline in the Hawaiian Islands.
Each vacation residence features spacious living and dining space, fully equipped kitchen, en-suite washer and dryer, and a private lanai.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

We chose this unit for several reasons: The beautiful view looking out to the ocean and to the flowering plumeria trees, 3-5 minutes from the beach and to the main swimming pool, the two completely separate sleeping/bathroom design, two lanais, the high ceiling and lots of light. It is difficult to decide what is the best feature of our unit, but perhaps its location is the most important, an upper corner unit, in a quiet area.

We are always sorry to leave, but then we can look forward to the next time when we can come again to our second home. Ekahi made us feel as if we were in paradise, with its beautiful flowering trees, many different kinds of birds, spacious, open grounds, quiet, friendly atmosphere. We especially enjoy waking up in the morning to the chirping of birds, listening to the sound of waves in the quiet of the night, watching the geckos trying to catch insects on our kitchen window, and birds building their nests close by. Early in the morning we can see the ocean from our window, and decide if it is a great day for snorkeling, or perhaps better for boogie boarding, judging from the appearance of the waves. The beach pavilion and its surrounding area is comfortable and private, its swimming pool heated, although we confess, we prefer the ocean. Snorkeling right in front of our complex,on Keawakapu Beach, next to the rocks, is very good, and turtles often can be seen, together with lots of different kinds fish .Farther to the left, Ulua Beach is a very popular snorkeling spot. Our kitchen is next to the lanai facing the ocean, and we love eating our meals outside, enjoying the ocean breeze. For a quick swim on a busy day, there is a swimming pool just a few feet away from our building. It is surrounded by a 'quiet area', ideal for reading a good book. ( The children prefer the bigger pool by the beach ). To make it feel even more like home, there is a little herb garden right outside, to the left of our building, which comes in handy when we feel like cooking.

Destination Residences Hawai‘i is the only collection of vacation rentals in Wailea and Makena that offers enhanced hotel services starting with a centralized reception office, a Concierge Desk to assist guests with booking activities and a manager-on-duty 24 hours a day.
