Hermosa casa de campo de 4 habitaciones en 24 acres. Nuestra casa se encuentra en lo alto de una colina enclavada en un bosque al otro lado de la calle de Blue Hill Bay. Disfruta de lo mejor de Maine con los bosques circundantes, pero cerca de pintorescas ciudades con encantadoras tiendas y restaurantes. Esta casa crea una cálida sensación de Maine con una chimenea a leña en la sala de estar / área familiar, un gran porche con una chimenea a gas; ambos adecuados para que familiares y amigos se reúnan o simplemente para ser acogedores con una buena novela. Beautiful home set in a Forrest, but close to town. Close enough to Acadia to enjoy day trips there, but plenty of beauty to enjoy around the property, a fire pit and grill, ping pong table and treadmill. Plenty of places to hang out with family or to find a quiet place to read.

The home is spacious and perfect for a large family vacationing in the Blue Hill area. The house and kitchen was well equipped for large groups. Ample supply of paper products was also a welcome surprise given past homes we have rented that had no Kleenex, minimal toilet paper and no paper towels. The grill, deck and fire pit were all well set up and the property quiet and peaceful. Great property!

The memories we are collecting from our weeks in Blue Heaven are woven into the fabric of our llives. From spotting deer to vigourous debates on the back porch to eating smores by the firepit to gorgeous walks through the woods and OF COURSE our treasured lobsters all create a beautiful montage for us to feast upon during the months intervening between stays.

Family Time

This house is wonderful! It has everything you need and more. The property is quiet and peaceful and private. Mary is a great host - she checked in with us a couple of times and left us lots of information for our trip. Dolly is very sweet as well - we did meet her one time during our stay.

Go to ship harbor trail for the best tide pooling! Be prepared to drive places if you want to your. No AC but not really needed. Great fire pit and wonderful atmosphere overall

It's been several years since we've been to visit Maine and we were celebrating a milestone anniversary, so we wanted to stay somewhere comfortable and where we could get away from the rat race, and Blue Heaven fit the bill. What a wonderful, magical place! Everything you could want or need was there and the house was so clean, and it felt like home away from home. Would absolutely recommend to others and will be back the next time in Maine. Mary, the host, was wonderful and easy to communicate with. Love it!

Best vacation I ever had

I had the pleasure of taking my family to this Maine home on the coast last summer. We were blown away at how beautiful the house and the area were. The community is quaint with fantastic restaurants, local fairs, amazing blueberries and antique stores galore. But, truth be told, we never wanted to leave this tranquil home. Everything we needed was there. It is spacious and peaceful. The kitchen is a gourmet cooks delight. I enjoyed my morning coffee on the front porch looking at the coast and the whole family spent hours on the screened patio reading, playing board games and enjoying the perfect Maine summer weather. I cannot wait to go back!

This is our third year of renting this property. Our first year was adults with one child. Now there are three children under the age of 5. The porch is a perfect room for bringing the family together. Ample space for toys and mayhem. but the real magic of this place is that there are any number of places to which one can escape when the mayhem gets to much. The kitchen was very well stocked and the views are breathtaking, furniture comfortable and the survivor’s guide had every conceivable bit of information anyone renting the house could need. I don’t want it to get any more popular than it already is but this is an a plus experience.

Amazing home for extended vacation!

We had the privilege of staying at this property for 9 nights. It is a remote location with plenty of space for a family to have alone time or together time. The property sits back off the road and is backed up to woods where there’s a wonderful fire pit. There were some other homes barely visible through the trees, but we only saw someone else one time. The house was well maintained, homey and well stocked - they really do think of everything! Each bedroom had a box fan and most bedrooms had a ceiling fan as well - the weather was very humid in July, but the evenings cooled down enough that fans were definitely sufficient even though they do not have air conditioning. There’s a local Hannaford and Blue Hill Co-op 10 minutes away, both of which sell a good selection of organic and allergen-friendly foods. It is about an hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.

I tried to book this property for next year before a wrote this review because I wanted to make sure we secured it since it is simply the most wonderful place in this part of Maine. But alas, apparently there are others who feel the same way. It breaks my heart that we will have to find another property but the early bird gets the worm. I cannot write anything negative about this wonderful place. Think of it. You have two septuagenarians, one sixty five year old mother of twin boys who are now married with children of their own and it was a perfect gathering of generations and cultures. This is our second year in this property our 35th year in this part of Maine and my husband said upon leaving: This was the best time EVER. I agree

Away From The Crowds

We were a family of eight: parents with their grown children and their spouses/significant others. We came to Maine to celebrate my 80th birthday. Blue Heaven accommodated all our needs. The kitchen was well equipped for some amazing meal preparations that we each took turns preparing most evenings. It almost became a competition to see who could make the most delicious and eye appealing dinner. We enjoyed a hike around Jordan Pond, visiting the Nearing home and gardens, dining out at Union River Lobster Pot and also a last night special dinner at Arborvine. Four members of our group rented e-bikes in Bar Harbor and rode a half day on the beautiful Carriage Trails in Acadia. Several members also hiked to Mount Cadillac and hiked Bubbles and a few other major hiking trails. We visited Thunder Hole one morning and also walked along the Sea Path in Bar Harbor ending at some of the shops and restaurants there. Note that due to heavy traffic in the summer months, a trip to Acadia can take 1 and 1/2 hours each way. So plan your activities accordingly. Our morning whale watch trip out of BarHarbor was cancelled as we were approaching Bar Harbor due to fog. We were disappointed, but spent the time on the sea path and shopping. We recommend Blue Heaven as a wonderful place to relax and feel at home. The grounds are lovely. Mary is a perfect host. We made so many memories there.

Beautiful house located in a quiet forest, a short drive to many interesting tourist destinations : Blue Hill, stonington… Acadia part is a long 1:15 drive away. Over-equipped with amenities and supplies: everything was in great condition and worked great.

This was the perfect home for our family. We had 7 adults and one toddler. The only complaint at all was that it was a decently far drive to Acadia. However the home and all of its amenities made up for the distance. We would HIGHLY recommend this home. The porch is lovely to have coffee and breakfast on and we ate every meal we could in the sun room.

We live in South Florida where we work as business consultants. We loved traveling the world, but found Maine to be the place that charmed us most! And so, in 2003 we bought this property and began building our Maine home, Blue Heaven! We opened the home to our friends and guests in 2005, and plan to spend our summers and falls there when we retire.

After traveling through out the US and Europe, we found no beauty like Maine beauty. We were charmed by the lovely towns, the quaint shops, the rugged seacoast and the Maine people. We fell in love with this area and felt it was the perfect place to retreat to with friends and family. Blue Heaven is a place where wonderful memories are built.

The people of Maine and their rugged history of living off the sea is quite unique. Maine people are hardy people, who love their picturesque quaint towns and their majestic, wild landscapes. There are wonderful art galleries, unique antique stores, beautiful golf courses, challenging hikes and GREAT eating establishments.
