Well kept home.Just enough space for 5 people.Nice location on the mountain. Close enough to civilization. Nice location to state park.Neighbors were cordial and helped us find house because it was dark.

Beautiful and cozy. Wish we could have enjoyed staying in more than having to go out for bsseball - would love to come back during a time where staying in and enjoying the scenery and quiet can be maximized.

Peaceful home

Janice’s description is spot on. Easy to find and very clean. Sit on the porch waving to people that pass by just made our day. We were able to spend a lot of time with our daughter, her two boys, her boyfriend and his three daughters. Lots of great memories were made.

What a great find!

If you want peace and privacy close to Lost River State park this one is for you. Super clean super quiet and what a lovely little getaway for 2! The privacy leans more towards bringing food etc with you as the closest town isn't super close but everyone was so friendly! We really loved this place and it proved just why they say the WVA is almost heaven. Thank you both for a wonderful stay!

Very clean and cozy!

The home was exceptionally clean and cozy. It was very close to the hikes we did. My only mild complaint was that the kitchen felt under supplied: no colander or ice trays, and the dinnerware was plastic. I did not need to communicate with the property manager, so that rating did not apply. Overall, we had a great time and recommend the home.

Birthday celebration

I grew up going to this house (camp)every year as a child. My grandparents owned it and my family had to sell it when my grandparents became sick. I was looking on VRBO last year and looking for a place in Mathias, when I came across this VRBO. You all did an amazing job remodeling the inside. It’s beautiful and my dad and step mom and brother loved what you all have done. The first morning my dad made us a wonderful breakfast, and we sat on the porch and enjoyed the beautiful day. Lost River State Park has a bridge that you can jump on and the creek was just how it was as a child. It was so nice to see my niece playing in the creek like I did as a child with my family. We went fishing and caught a few fish and my brother used the grill to make us some burgers. The scenery is breathtaking when you drive through the mountains in this area. We look forward to going again.

Peaceful family getaway

Stayed with my two sons whole seeing my mother and her partner for the Thanksgiving holiday. The property was everything we needed. It was warm, well situated on a hill in the forest hills. The trundle was perfect for my younger son, and he hadn't seen one before (which delighted him!). The owners truly thought of everything, providing chargers, popcorn, coffee, and tea. The fridge was very spacious, and their was plenty of silverware and plates for meals. My boys also appreciated having high speed internet, and a large TV to watch holiday films on with me. It was truly an amazing stay, and I am so appreciative of the hosts providing such a lovely property. and
