I am so happy you enjoyed your stay in our house and we agree that Vence is a perfect example of a medieval village in the South of France with all the conveniences of a modern city. Our house is located within the walls of the old town on a quiet street just a few seconds walk to cafes, restaurants, shops and the main square. A few minutes walk from supermarkets. If you have a car, we have a large garage, rare for its central location. However, all the major tourist sites can be reached by public transportation - Nice, Cannes, Antibes and Monaco.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay. The main entrance to the house is the street level at 8 rue de la Coste which is inside the walls of old town. The garage entrance is outside the wall at the back of the house and is located at 33 Blvd Paul Andre. The baths in the other bedrooms are equipped with showerheads. The problem with the stand-up shower is the enclosure, which is being completely replaced while we are currently occupying the house.

• Quite right! the location, the views and the terrace cannot be beaten. This was the reviewers second rental of our house. He loved it so much the first time, he chose to rent the house again for an entire month. There have been many improvements to the house since his last rental. Far from letting the house suffer during the lockdown period, we took advantage and made numerous improvements including: Hired a local artist to entirely redecorate two of the bedrooms; tiled the large roof terrace floor with red terracotta tiles; installed a brand new electric induction stove and bought new induction cookware; purchased a new dining room table with six chairs and added new bar stools in the kitchen. As he was a returning renter we told him ahead of his arrival of these specific enhancements. He never makes any mention of these improvements, but instead complains of the basic structure of the house, the arrangement of the kitchen, the number of baths vs showers, and such petty things as cutlery and the size of the kettle all of those were the same since his last visit. Strangely, two of the items he chooses are ones which he characterizes as too abundant. The first, is the two refrigerators. It is true we have a large modern refrigerator. The second refrigerator, an antique SMEG, which we love for its ambiance and it sets a perfect tone for that area of the house. It is very useful to chill wine, beer and juices. The second is the baths. All four bedrooms are very large and spacious with their own bathrooms which contain a toilet and sink. Three bathrooms have tubs with handheld showers. The fourth bedroom has a walk-in shower. None of these facilities intrude on the spaciousness of the bedrooms. Regarding the cutlery, we have an ordinary matched set of knives, forks and spoons which we purchased in Vence at a local market. In addition, there is an assortment of other cutlery mostly matched, which we keep in a separate drawer. We have kitchen knives, wooden spoons, whisks, ladles, bottle & can openers etc. The kettle is a standard size that we use for making coffee for the French press. There is also a drip coffee maker. There are plenty of new induction pots and pans necessary for an efficient kitchen. We have an abundance of white sheets, white towels and white pillow cases. I buy only white sheets and refresh the linen cupboard every time I visit the house. The garage door often needs WD40 to slide more easily. He could have called Milan our property manager who lives only a two-minute walk from the house and he would have come around immediately to resolve any of these issues. We can only speculate as to why he wrote this review as more of a building contractor, rather than a holiday maker. But we wish him happy travels in the future.

This review contains several mistaken complaints - first and most important there was not a broken refrigerator. The kitchen has two large fridges both of which work. There is a refrigerator up in the terrace. When we winterize the terrace in October each year we unplug the refrigerator on the terrace. But, it would have been a simple action for the client to just plug it in if they wanted to use it. There is not any bad smell from the toilets, we know this because we were in the house the day before the client arrived. The cleaner, however, uses disinfectant to sanitize the bathroom, but this dissipates within a few hours. With regard to the wifi the house has good coverage throughout using our repeaters. But the rear bedroom at the top of the house does not always get wifi. We keep the room that contains the wifi “livebox” free as an upstairs sitting room, which assures that there will always be wifi available for everyone. But this client at the last minute brought an unscheduled guest who used that room as their bedroom.

It really was lovely to have you back again. So glad you enjoyed your return visit to our house in Vence. It is true what you say, our house is the perfect location for visiting this lovely historic village. Located within the walls of the medieval village on a quiet residential street. It is nevertheless only a minutes walk from the many cafes and restaurants for which Vence is famous. The views from our terrace of the foothills of the Mediterranean Alps is truly breathtaking.

Merci pour vos gentils commentaires. Ah ! les climatiseurs ne sont pas autorisés dans l'enceinte de la cité historique. Heureusement, nous avons les brises fraîches de la montagne. Toutes les fenêtres ont des volets, mais ne donnent pas forcement une ombre complete au soleil. Nous sommes ravis que vous ayez apprécié votre séjour. Nous espérons que vous reviendrez un jour.
