La maravillosa casa tiene capacidad para 8 personas amantes del surf y el sol. Tiene tres dormitorios y un baño con una ducha al aire libre cerrada y fría. Gran patio trasero. Camino familiar. La casa se encuentra a poca distancia a pie de la playa, pero las misiones también recibirán un pase de estacionamiento para la playa privada del distrito de bomberos. Que tienen baños y duchas. Restaurantes, deportes acuáticos y minigolf están a poca distancia. Hay conciertos en vivo y noches de cine para familias. Misquamicut visited

A typical old beach house. Could be updated, especially electrical and heating. More lights need to be there. It was very dark inside. Cable could be updated for rainy days. Otherwise, we had a nice time

All shabby - no chic

The location and beach access was perfect. That is where the good stuff ends. This place needs a lot of work and we were disappointed at the state of things which were in disrepair (unpainted patches, unframed windows with exposed insulation and sloppy foaming around it, exposed carpentry, pealing ceiling paint, and more) to building code violations (plumbing, electrical included) to things not working (like the lock on the bathroom which my husband ended up fixing after an embarrassing encounter, and a window which would not stay up without a prop). I really wish we could upload photos because I'm sure this sounds unbelievable. The worst thing was the bathroom which was not only small but so gross that i closed my eyes whenever i used the toilet which BTW had a broken seat that was askew. We used the outside shower the whole time. There were missing tiles, unpainted patches, grimy dust on the shelving, on and on. Some of the outdoor wood furniture was rotted and had rusty nails sticking out which the owner nailed down after I asked. While the kitchen was well stocked the pots and pans need some updating for sure. I want to say nice things about the hosts, but the lack of pride and investment in this property is really sad and so I question their integrity. I don't know if i could have gotten my money back and stayed somewhere else, I didn't want to deal with drama so we stayed and just spent as much time outside the house as possible.

Great location with large backyard, outdoor shower roomy areas inside and nice front deck

It was a great place for our family with room for friends to visit, close to walk to the beach and there was a beach pass for the car if wanted to drive

Walk to the Beach!

The house was clean enough, outside of the bathroom which we had to fully clean upon arrival. The upstairs floor was entirely unavailable, so you only have access to the first floor. The yard and outdoor shower were definitely awesome and huge highlights of the property, as well as the fire pit. Under 10 minute walk to the beach, shops, restaurants, also great neighborhood to run or bicycle in. We found communication on the app with the owner to be slow, however we received quick responses on the phone. We arrived while hurricane Henri was coming directly through the area and the owner worked with us to accommodate accordingly. Would definitely stay again, this time with a better understanding of the layout of the house and the fact that it’s just one floor available to guests. Thanks William and Melissa!

Nice cottage near the beach

You can walk to the beach from here. Paint is peeling in the bathroom ceiling and furnishings are older, but it's clean, lovely big yard with hammock and you can't beat being able to walk to the beach.

Great location

We enjoyed our week and the location was ideal. The beds were comfortable. The outdoor shower was great, except for the fact that it didn’t drain properly and we found ourselves ankle deep in water by the end of each shower. The house was not clean enough. We knew to bring our own sheets and towels, but were shocked to find absolutely no toilet paper. We asked Bill about it on our arrival only to be told that they didn’t supply it. There was no dishwashing liquid either, but this he procured. I think it would be helpful if the owners stated clearly in their description that nothing, not even essentials like salt, pepper and toilet paper, is provided. Despite our surprise at the directions to vacuum before we left, we complied, since we wanted a full refund of the deposit. We left the house cleaner than we found it. We have yet to receive the refund. This is not a house we would return to.

Misquamicut is our new favorite place!

My kids and I stayed here for two weeks and had a wonderful vacation. We walked everyday to the private Fire District beach, kayaked on the Salt Pond and enjoyed ice cream from Beach Bums. What a wonderful way to spend a vacation!

Don’t bother with additional insurance

Writing this review to tell people not to bother buying the additional home insurance that is offered thru HomeAway.......it doesn’t do any good!!!! I bought the insurance and it was supposed to have PLENTY of coverage for property damage. We had an accident and the glass inside the refrigerator got broken. Instead of the owners taking it up w HomeAway they took the $$ out of my security deposit. So not very happy about that!! The place was clean and the owners respected our privacy. Couldn’t really enjoy the backyard because mosquitoes were awful!! Overall we had a good week but will never stay at this location again due to my loss of $$$.

Week in paradise!

Loved our beach rental on 2nd Street. Melissa was a pleasure to work with. Your home was so comfortable and cozy. A real beach house! Loved the yard, loved the kitchen and deck and the 3rd bedroom suite was so great. Your beach passes were wonderful! And we especially loved that we were able to bring our sweet dog, Morty. Our first summer with him and he was so good! Thank you so much! This was a great vacation for all of us! ⛱🔆😊

Buyer Beware!

Be aware that sheets and blankets are NOT provided with this rental. This was not made clear in the rental description. Also even though there is a pet security fee, the owners charge an additional fee per pet. If they “forget” to tell you about these charges up front, they will just not return your security deposit. Also there is a substantial cleaning fee and yet in the information book about the house the owners ask that you clean before you leave with details about where the vacuum and cleaning supplies are located. The place was not very clean. There were ants in the bathroom, knobs falling off the kitchen cabinets, cobwebs on lampshades and one bed frame was broken, so our bed kept falling down on the ground on one side. The two nice features about this house is the large backyard and the location.

Terrific back yard!

We really enjoyed our stay in this cottage. The yard was huge, with lots of privacy and a fire pit. The house was comfy and well maintained. We especially loved the "kids suite", which featured its own separate entrance. Melissa was super accommodating, meeting us early so that we were able to enjoy a beach day upon arrival. We had a great week here and will definitely be back next year!

Wonderful private location with great backyard and fire pit

We loved the cottage and the location. So close to the beach yet so peaceful hanging out in the backyard. The fire pit was a big hit with the family as well as the outdoor shower. Very safe road to bike and walk the dog. Thankful that we could bring out dog with us!

Best vacation ever!

Everything we needed was there. Close proximity to beach and grocery store. Large back yard with a hammock was so nice. Melissa and Bill were wonderful.

The Best

The property at 48 2nd street was more than we expected.... The cottage was clean.. Spacious.. And cozy... But the yard was what we enjoyed the most... It was beautiful... Lots of trees ..hammock... Shade.. A fire pit we sat around laughing telling stories while making smores... I never wanted to leave

Summer beach get away for 3 couples

The property was everything as stated and pictured in the listing, and even greater fulfillment came from nightly campfires around the ring in the backyard, close proximity to ponds, and friendly neighbors on a street that was perfectly quiet at night. We were amazed at how well and quickly we fell asleep; the beds were comfortable for everyone. The cottage was bright and well equipped, and the outdoor dining area on the deck made family suppers for six doable. The living area is petite and seats 4 comfortably and has cable TV and stereo, and the large bedroom has additional space for cards or privacy. As the term cottage would suggest, it is somewhat rustic yet quaintly decorated, the bathroom small but with several shelves and cubbies for everyone to stash their toiletries. The outdoor shower is what we all loved after a day at the beautiful beach, and the location was great for getting out to nearby towns and attractions. Melissa was very kind and helpful hostess, and made great recommendations to get us started on the right track. We would certainly consider returning to this property for another week seaside in Misquamicut.

Comfortable property!

Six of us rented the cottage for a weekend off-season in October and found it a very comfortable place to hang and catch up when it rained most of the day on Saturday (we arrived from 4 different states). The kitchen was fully equipped and the cottage was clean. The area was very quiet at this time of year and we enjoyed a quick trip to visit the nearby beach and spent one afternoon in Mystic and one in Watch Hill, both very close with lots of great restaurants nearby!

Perfection

Not only were the renters absolutely amazing, but the home itself had every amenity you could ever need. From the number of people that could comfortably sleep, the cleanliness inside, the large backyard, the outdoor and indoor showers, the fire pit in the back, the front deck with grilling, to the overall accessibility of the house in proximity to the beach and stores. Nothing short of perfect!
