Come enjoy a well-thought-out, 5-bedroom chalet in the mountains. Beautiful and private natural surroundings. Seasonal view. Fantastic Gatlinburg location! Our chalet sleeps up to 16 people, with charm & amenities you'll delight in. Featuring 4 king-sized beds, a room with 2 double-sized beds (sleeping up to 4 people), plus 2 queen-sized sleeper sofa beds, and 4 full bathrooms. We welcome families!

We have recently upgraded our kitchen with brand new quartz countertops and a larger brand new wood dining table (not yet pictured); and also updated the game room to include a ping pong table top and extra games (as of December 2024)!

Guests love our very convenient location to downtown Gatlinburg, Ober Mountain Ski & Amusement Park, and Great Smoky Mountains National Park. All guests must be able to walk up stairs.

With cool mountain evenings here, enjoy our outdoor fire pit and 3 real (wood-burning) indoor fireplaces. Our summer guests enjoy access to 3 outdoor swimming pools (open Memorial weekend through Labor Day) and Chalet Village clubhouses with game rooms, tennis and Pickleball courts, basketball goal, and more. The nearest Clubhouse is only a 2-minute drive!

LAYOUT & FEATURES

Chalet Zermatt is a practically laid out cabin for hosting family or friends — cozy, yet with space to spread out with a living area on all 3 floors. Bathroom on each level. Enjoy the outdoors on the porches and fire pit area!

• Top level: includes a beautiful master bedroom suite with a living area, stone fireplace, vaulted ceiling, and a private deck. In addition to the primary bedroom suite, the top level has two other bedrooms. (Top Level - 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms)

• Main level: has two bedrooms, as well as a covered deck that provides great outdoor living space, including a private hot tub, outdoor propane grill and separate outdoor gathering area with swing and fire pit (propane). (Main Level - 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom)

• Main living area + Kitchen + Dining: the living room features a stone fireplace and a lounge area and TV. There is a sleeper sofa bed. In the adjacent kitchen, we have both drip coffee maker and a Keurig, and the cookware you should need for prepping meals. For dining, there is a brand new 10-seat dining table (not yet pictured), plus 3 bar counter seats.

• Lowest level: this is the newly updated game/recreation room. It has a large TV, couches (pull-out sofa bed included), pool table, ping-pong table option, NEW multicade offering 50+ arcade games and NFL Blitz arcade, numerous wall games (mini basketball, tic-tac-toe, ring toss), cornhole boards, chess set, board games, mini fridge, DVD player & movie options, and a real fireplace. Unwind and let loose while others sleep upstairs! It also has a sleeper sofa bed. And full size washer & dryer. (Lower Level - No bedrooms this level, 1 bathroom)

• 7 total smart TVs means a TV in each bedroom, plus the TVs in the living room and rec room. Access all your favorite streaming apps through our Roku TVs and great, reliable WiFi!

• 2 dedicated workspaces and Wifi for working remotely.

• Families with young kids: we offer a pack n' play, a high chair, and an installed baby gate at the top of the inside stairs.

• This chalet is in Chalet Village, an area with daily black bear visits/ sightings. Black bears are very frequent visitors at the property. It is located less than a mile from the edge of the National Park and is a sought after area of Gatlinburg for getaway trips. Enjoy the incredible chance to see wildlife in the mountains, and always following bear safety guidelines (we will message you & have them posted in our home).

CHALET VILLAGE AMENITIES

Stay cool in summer with our community's swimming pools and 3 exclusive Chalet Village clubs. Our guests can visit the South Baden Clubhouse, a 2-minute drive from the chalet, OR Alpine Clubhouse OR the North Clubhouse. The 3 locations offer guests the pools, and clubhouses with game rooms, tennis courts at some locations, and now Pickleball courts (@ the North Clubhouse)! Plus there's a small workout room at the South Baden Clubhouse near our chalet. For accessing all these exclusive amenities, you'll use an access card we have for you at the cabin.

REST, RELAX & PLAY

We’re so excited to host you at Chalet Zermatt for an incredible Smoky Mountains getaway. Come enjoy a charming space to chill, connect, and give your brain a break. You will likely see the bears (more info below)! Ask us for any tips about the area.

GUEST ACCESS

Chalet Village is in the mountains, so expect to drive on a few narrow and steep roads on your way up to Chalet Zermatt. 4-wheel drive is needed in wintry conditions. Approaching from South Baden Dr is the easiest way to access the driveway/parking area for the chalet. Your GPS may take you to North Baden Dr, but go ahead and pass it and re-route to South Baden. You can park right in front of the cabin and enter on the lower level or the second level, up the stairs. Both doors have keyless access. As stated above, all guests must be able to walk up stairs.

Parking is free and in our private driveway. There is space for 5-6 vehicles. You will park directly in front of the cabin and walk up the stairs to enter your vacation home. Parking is tandem style, which means vehicles parked last in will need to move out to allow vehicles at the front of the parking area to exit (if parking the max number of vehicles).

OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE

- Bears are very prevalent in this area, which is so close to the National Park! You will most likely see black bears on the property while staying at Chalet Zermatt. Please abide by the recommended safety precautions below:

• always lock the chalet
• do not ever approach or feed bears
• do not leave food or trash of any kind outdoors at any time
• always lock your cars, and have windows rolled up; the bears can and will open doors including your car door if unlocked (if you do not want a bear inside your vehicle, please be diligent about locking it AT ALL TIMES)
• do not leave any food or beverage items in your car
• you must put trash bags in bear-proof trash bin at the end of the driveway
• stay aware of your surroundings outdoors

- We do not accept cancellations and do not offer refunds due to weather and/or weather-related conditions. We recommend you purchase your own travel insurance. Per our listing, Chalet Village is in the mountains; 4-wheel drive is needed in wintry conditions. Travel at your own risk.

- We provide all towels and linens. For your convenience we supply you with a limited starter kit of toilet paper, bar soap, paper towel roll, trash bags, and dishwasher detergent or pods. This is so that you are all set when you arrive, but the supply won’t last the entire trip. We do not provide toiletries. We don't supply firewood.

The “Chalet Village Market" just a few minutes away should have many of the essentials that you may need.

- Due to the agreement with our cleaning service provider, we are not able to accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs. You may check in as early as 4 pm and must check out by 10 am. Guests who are not out of the chalet by check-out time will incur a non-negotiable $100 per half-hour late checkout fee.

- As we are in the mountains, nature-related elements are inevitable like weather and wildlife. You may lose power if there is a snowstorm/fallen trees, etc. As mentioned, you are very likely to see bears on the property and possibly other wildlife.

- Chalet Zermatt is on a monthly program to prevent insects. However, please remember you are at a cabin in the woods/mountains. It is not possible to keep 100% of insects out all of the time. Please keep doors closed and locked to prevent insects and wildlife from getting in.

- No RV or Trailer parking.

- You must be 25 years old to book. No smoking. No parties. No pets. Please read entire House Rules.
