Happy Honu Oasis, Surf shack with pool and A/C

We really enjoy traveling as a couple and like to pick a base camp that we can venture out from day by day. We wanted to provide something similar for our guests. We had a lot of fun setting up Happy Honu Oasis (HHO) with this thought in mind. We hope you will settle in and feel comfortable there.

HHO is a top floor studio apt with a private bath, Air conditioning, and nice size dressing area. We have provided self-care essentials for you (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and some other essentials including sunscreen and a first aid kit). Although this top floor unit is on the 3rd floor, only one flight ofnstairs is needed as parking is level with the 2nd floor. There is not an elevator.

In the main room there is a full size kitchen and lounging/sleeping area. Kitchen appliances include a refrigerator, full size stove and oven, and microwave. There is an air fryer/toaster and rice cooker.

For preparing beverages, there is a coffee maker, electric hot water kettle, and blender. We have had fun picking up delicious fresh ingredients at the Farmer's Market in Hilo, or at one of the many roadside fruit and veg stands in the area and preparing a meal in our apt. Wait until you see the size of these avocados!! and they are so yummy and buttery. You can pack the cooler for a beach picnic, or for a day out exploring one of the fascinating areas of the island.

The queen size bed is extremely comfortable and the futon folds out for additional sleeping space. There is perfect Arizona conditioning too!

The lanai gets a great breeze and is comfortable throughout the day. There are roll-down blinds for privacy and sun blocking. The lanai is set up with a dining table where you can enjoy a snack or meal, or do some work (if you must!) We have stocked some games in the rattan bookshelf for your fun. The WIFI is on, and you can enter your code for your favorite streaming services on the big TV while you relax. There is also beach gear in the wicker trunk on the lanai, along with pool towels in the closet.

We take pride in sharing a clean and pleasant space with you. HHO received a complete refresh in 2022, and now features artwork honoring honu by Chris, your co-host. Our cleaning team follows COVID cleaning protocol. We have included a Guest Guide in our online listing, as well as a book of info at the apt.
