We enjoyed our stay. The 6 bedrooms w/ bathrooms were a big plus for our grp of 12. Game room was awesome! Great view of lake; perfect for bucket golf which we played almost every day. Although the house had plenty of great features, there were some items that made our vacation less than perfect. 1. House does not have air conditioning! With the sun beating in and temps up to the 90’s, the house was terribly hot; downstairs bedroom reached mid 80’s every day & upstairs bedrooms approached 90 degrees! Ceiling & floor fans did not provide much relief. A/Cs would have solved this issue. 2. Refrigerator did not provide adequate space for 12 people. We had to use 4 coolers and purchase ice every day. There was a refrigerator in the basement, but was not usable. 3.There were hornet’s nests in several locations – behind several shutters in the deck area and near the stone wall. We couldn’t use the deck until I sprayed the nests. The presence of bees/hornets is not avoidable, treatment of the nesting areas is. 4. Two bedrooms had mattresses that were very uncomfortable – time to replace them. 5. The horse flies were unbearable. Any time spent in the yard meant you had to deal with being bit. Periodic fogging of the area would ensure renters do not have to deal with horse flies and mosquitos. This property/house would be perfect if these issues were addressed! All fixable(We would not call the pond swimmable; more like a bog, full of algae & frogs & gets deep quick)
