Stay in a restored Queen Anne Victorian filled with original art, just steps from downtown Raton. A comfortable, quiet overnight stop for couples, families, and travelers breaking up long drives between Texas and Colorado. Ideal overnight stop for Texas–Colorado ski trips.

The Space:

THE SPACE

The Gallery House is a historic home that also functions as a living art gallery, featuring a curated collection of vibrant, modern artwork throughout. Guests are welcome to enjoy the art during their stay, and select pieces are available for purchase.

You’ll have access to the entire home, with spacious rooms, tall ceilings, and large windows that bring in beautiful natural light. The kitchen is fully equipped with full-sized, high-end appliances and ample prep space, and the dining room features a custom table that comfortably seats six.

As with many historic homes, the layout is unique and a bit quirky — part of its charm after more than 130 years of use, including a former life as a restaurant.

SITTING ROOM

A sunny sitting room faces east toward the surrounding mesas and offers cozy seating, morning light, and a peaceful place to unwind. This space includes a mini fridge, espresso machine, and teas, and is perfect for reading, yoga, or relaxing after a long day of travel.

BEDROOMS & BATHROOMS

Bedroom 1

A newly renovated bedroom with comfortable bedding, a streaming-enabled TV, and a high-quality sound system. Enjoy music or movies with the house entirely to yourself.

Bedroom 2

A comfortable queen-size memory foam mattress, 50” streaming TV, and beautiful east-facing views of Bartlett and Johnson Mesa.

As you approach:

Walkway Note: Follow the concrete path toward the house. Watch for the yellow-painted section, as it may be a toe-catcher.

Entrance: The front door is located on the east side of the house and features a striking black and leaded glass design.

To enter, use the access code provided in your welcome message and press the enter button (look for "Brinks" on the lock).

We hope you enjoy your time in this beautifully restored space!

The Neighborhood:

Raton is a peaceful, unassuming town where time seems to have paused, leaving behind the noise and rush of modern life. Here, you can step back into a simpler era, where the charm of a quaint, close-knit community shines through.

Nestled amid stunning natural landscapes, Raton offers an ideal setting for outdoor enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The area boasts breathtaking views of the Capulin Volcano National Monument, an extinct cinder cone volcano that provides a glimpse into the region’s dramatic geological past. The historic Raton Pass, once a critical route on the Santa Fe Trail, is steeped in stories of exploration, trade, and Western adventure.

Strolling through Raton’s historic streets, you’ll discover a blend of vintage architecture and local charm, with opportunities to explore unique shops, art galleries, and cozy eateries. Whether you’re hiking the rugged terrain, learning about the town’s vibrant history, or simply savoring the slower pace of life, Raton invites you to experience its timeless beauty and welcoming spirit.

The FranklinFab co. Gallery is in a R2 zoning district. Commercial/residential. Meaning there are homes as well as businesses nearby. It sits right on the Main Street through town and can be a little noisy during the day from traffic, it usually quiets down around dark. Since it’s on the Main Street, it has easy access to restaurants, parks, hiking trails and the interstate (just .5 mile away) we’re very easy to find!

Getting Around:

There are parks, restaurants, breweries, train station, historic downtown and hiking trails all within walking distance. We have plenty of off street parking (even for oversized vehicles or trailers) The neighborhood is an eclectic mix of industry, restaurants, vintage buildings and service stations, all just a few minutes drive from beautiful countryside and nature just outside of town.

Other Things to Note:

There is a Blackstone grill on the patio in the back yard. We keep it locked up to keep critters out. If you'd like to use it please let us know and we will get you access.

Interaction with Guests:

We have 3 separate listings on the property which are all available to guests. They are separate, private and each unique and cozy! We are very engaged, easy to reach and always striving to make this a great place to stay, a home away from home. Text messaging will get a response quickly. We’re here to help!

If you have a larger group please reach out about booking 1, 2 or all 3 properties. It is a great space for that!

Thank you for choosing The Queen Anne Art Gallery House. Whether you’re here to immerse yourself in history, discover vibrant art, or simply relax, we hope your time here is as inspiring as it is comfortable.

If you have any questions or suggestions during your visit, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to make your stay exceptional!

We adore our fun-loving family of 6!
I am a designer, a builder, and a self-taught multi-disciplinary artist. I prefer to work in lasting materials, steel and stone are some of my favorites. I enjoy painting, photography. We are an adventurous bunch, often out road-tripping around the country or galavanting around the ranch that we are so lucky to call home. We have an art gallery in the little town of Des Moines NM. A 1920's service station that we brought back to life from a near-death experience.😂. It is now modern, light, and filled with art! Check it out here: NathanielFranklin.com
We purchased these amazing historic properties out of foreclosure, vacant, and in disrepair. They had experienced a similar near-death experience which we were able to rescue them from. Through thousands of hours of work and care they have been updated, to retain their original historic charm. We hope that you find them "a home away from home"

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

Raton is a sleepy little town that feels to be stuck in the past. A welcome reprieve for many visiting from the hustle and bustle of the big cities. It is an eclectic mix of industry, history, and remnants of the Wild West. The setting is beautiful, surrounded by the high mesas and mountains. Outdoor adventure is easy to find as well as solitude. We are experiencing a slow trickle of artistic types moving into town and bringing creativity along with them.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We purchased these 3 historic homes (all situated on the same property) vacant and in foreclosure and in desperate need of repair. We have carefully renovated each, hoping to maintain the historic charm while adding modern amenities and comforts. They can be rented together or separately and have beautiful common grounds which are shared by all three listings.
