I can't believe we found this gem for our family vacation! The house is gorgeous and full of charm. It was well stocked and impeccably kept. A great week spent fishing, crabbing, kayaking, exploring and swimming. Looking forward to future visits!

This property is beautifully situated on a picturesque part of Maryland. The house was super spacious for our large party or nine and we never once felt on top of one another. The pool and hot tub are amazing and the pool house was a nice bonus area for the kids. The house manager was also very helpful and the host was super quick to respond. The decor style is old farmhouse and we would definitely come back.

We had an amazing stay at Woodwind! The house itself is beautiful, spacious, and perfect for gathering a large family. The pool and spa were just right, and the brand-new sauna in the pool house was a huge bonus.The grounds are absolutely stunning—expansive property with incredible water views. Each morning we loved having coffee outside while watching the workboats pulling up crabs and the Oxford-Bellevue ferry making its daily crossings. The kids were thrilled to catch crabs right off the dock, which made for unforgettable memories.Inside, the kitchen was well equipped for cooking and the beds were very comfortable. The sense of peace and privacy here is unmatched—you’re just a short drive from Easton, but once you’re at Woodwind, you feel completely secluded, with only the sounds of wildlife, the stars at night, and quiet all around.Rich, the property’s caretaker, really elevated our trip. He was attentive without ever being intrusive, answered all of our questions, and gave us great tips to make sure we were comfortable throughout the stay. His hospitality made a big difference.Many thanks to Hunter, Stephanie, and Rich—we’d love to stay at Woodwind again one day!

This is such a special property. The house, the amenities and then the surprising foodie scene in Easton and St. Michael’s is within minutes. This is our second summer at this property and we are already starting to plan our third!

The Woodwind house is our absolute favorite home to stay in on the entire Eastern Shore area. We stayed in late August 2025, with family that included two elderly seniors and adults and teens, and two dogs. The check in process was smooth and exactly as described. This is our third time staying at The Woodwind, and since our last stay the pool house has been completely renovated. With a brand new bathroom and sauna as well! And with probably the best view in the house!The kitchen is well stocked with all the herbs and oils and cooking essentials that you would ever need, plenty of pots and pans and dishes and utensils. There is a beautiful dock with a cover for hot sunny days and plenty of crab traps of which we made full use. The fishing was also amazing.There is a caretaker named Rich who is on site and was extremely helpful and accessible. He made us feel welcome and made sure that we were comfortable, and answered our questions promptly. There is also an amazing fig tree, an organic garden with plenty of delicious tomatoes and herbs, and the lawn and property was as always, very well maintained. The property itself is much more impressive in person, as the pictures on the website don’t really do it justice. :). We highly recommend this home, and plan to return again in the futureThank you again!

Peace, Tranquility, Comfort.....EVERYTHING!

Our family spent a week at Woodwind and absolutely loved every second of it. The property is amazing from the farmhouse, to the pool house and the river house there is plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The pool was just what we needed during a summer heat wave and the hot tub was perfect for unwinding late in the evenings. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals, the location was close to everything (including St. Michaels and Easton), and the river views were amazing. The property manager was outstanding. He was available for anything we needed and periodically checked-in to see if there was anything he could do to enhance our experience. I could write for days but suffice it to say this was the single most relaxing vacation our family has had in over 10 years and I hope to have the opportunity to visit again for years to come.

Home away from home

We were familiar with Woodwind from a previous stay and delighted to return to this restful spot to enjoy time with our family, friends and each other. The property is beautifully situated across the Tred Avon from Oxford and we enjoyed boating there for lunch or simply cruising around the local creeks. The house had everything we needed. I only wish we hadn't packed so much kitchenware because the kitchen was very well equipped for anything - right down to a garlic press! From sipping coffee as we watched the regattas on the river, to dinners enjoying fabulous sunsets and star gazing in the evening, our days were relaxed and peaceful. Hunter and Stephanie were easy to contact and the on-property manager Rich was helpful and responded to any questions we had very promptly. Having grown up sharing memorable family vacations in St. Michael's years ago, we are so thankful that Woodwind provided us with another perfect gathering place to reconnect with our family and friends.

Gorgeous Property

What an amazing property! Much more spectacular in person compared to the online photos. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Woodwind. The main house is nicely appointed with everything we needed during our stay. We spent the majority of our time at the pool area/covered patio and we could watch TV and be in the pool at the same time with the gas grill nearby. The covered dock was a bonus feature that allowed us to crab/fish and take a break from the sun. The property’s caretaker Rich is in a separate residence on the property and was quick to respond with any questions we had or if we needed anything (and based on other properties we've vacationed at, his service is the best we've encountered). If you enjoy wildlife, there’s plenty of deer roaming the outer perimeter of the property and although the Woodwind is on the water, we didn’t have any issues with mosquitoes. If you want to wander into St Michael’s it’s a 15 minute drive. The Oxford Ferry is also nearby. Overall the Woodwind was one of our favorite family vacation retreats. Would love to come back.
