Phenomenal host and a great location. Many amenities in the building itself including laundry and a small gym. Many shops and food spots right around the corner as well as easy access to the UPN Metra line. Only complaint was it was quite dusty and could use a deep cleaning. Otherwise a great place to stay.

Stayed here while in Chicago for a job. This was a fantastic place to come "home" to. The rental has an amazing southwest character full of art. Definitely not your standard boring room. The space was very clean and tidy with laundry on site. Convenient to shops, grocery, restaurants, and the train all while being a little quite haven. I cannot say enough about the hosts they were very hospitable and helpful.

Great Stay!

Unique, cozy, great host, best location! We enjoyed our stay at Casita Reva. So nice to be near Central St and especially liked walking to Ryan Field. Highly recommend staying here. All our needs were met.

The area was great but the unit itself was a bit dingy. The windows were few and small. It's decorated with a southwest theme that was eclectic, but it is basically a basement apartment.

Great location...need a deep cleaning

We loved the location but the place had cleanliness issues. Dirt and grease build up on microwave was an example. Laundry room was filthy. Communication with owner was very good. Location excellent in a very nice part of Evanston. Lots of good places to eat nearby and beautiful neighborhoods. I would recommend place only if cleanliness issues are addressed.

Great job. This place is both spotless and special, centrally located in a cute neighborhood with shops and restaurants, and has a ton of character and charm. We loved it!

Great place!

I visited during the holidays and very much enjoyed the experience. The owners have created a very comfortable retreat in a great location. The kitchen is fantastic and well equipped. They even provide some useful cooking essentials (oil, seasonings) and that is a very nice extra touch for the cook. The furnishings comfortable and well maintained. The location is just a couple of short blocks to a wonderful retail district featuring markets, shops, and places for coffee or a light bite. The owner could not have been more helpful or accessible and I would definitely stay here again.

Convenient and Peaceful

What a cute, quirky artsy apartment. Everything we needed for a weeks visit to the area. We used the well equipped kitchen often and there was even a coffee grinder for our whole beans, John and Amy were welcoming and kind (be sure to visit Amy’s cool store). The only thing to be aware of is there are little steps down to the bedroom and up to the bed so if you have mobility issues be careful. We plan to return when we next visit family in Evanston. Enjoy the peacefulness!

Home away from Home

We initially chose this property due to the proximity to our family in Evanston. But the location turned out to be ideal with restaurants, shops, and train transport all a 2 minute walk! Parking was available but we were able to park on the street, no problem. The basement apartment was clean and the decor a pleasant change from the ordinary! Had everything we needed. GREAT garden/yard. Able to use that extensively for getting together with family & friends. You'll enjoy staying here.

Wonderful Apartment in Evanston

My wife and I stayed at Casita Rita in mid June visiting our son and attending a conference. It was our second visit to the Casita. The apartment is comfortable and the Fell’s are welcoming. As seen in the photos, the apartment is very nicely decorated in a Southwest motif. It is close to Central Evanston with its many shops and restaurants. Attending the conference in Chicago was an easy 15-minute walk to the CTA Central Station to take the Express Purple line. The other option is the Metra, which is only 5 minutes away. The apartment is very clean, the bed is comfortable and the air conditioning works beautifully. John and Amy were very helpful with tips for places to eat. We enjoyed catching up with them after a year away. John, my son and I ran in The Race Against Hate on Father’s Day. Don’t miss the local bakery…The Great Harvest Bread. The WildKat scones are delicious. The apple scrapple is also incredible. Other great shops include the Old Town Oil, the Happy Husky and Prarie Joe’s cafe.

Great Evanston Location - Go Cats!

My husband and I stayed at this property with our two sons while visiting family in the area. What a great location! We are both NU alumni and were excited to be so close to all of the great restaurants and shops on Central as well as in such close proximity to the stadium. John, the owner, was prompt in responding to my emails and very helpful when making our plans. The apartment itself was clean and well decorated. I was impressed with all of the great cookware and tools in the kitchen! There was a lot of space and I loved having access to the laundry area right off of the back door. It was a little tricky parking in the allotted spot, but we were grateful that it was there and so close to the apartment. Smaller cars will have an easier time. Our only challenge was the sleeping situation, but we knew that going into it (we have a 5 year old and a 4 month old). John help us by having an inflatable mattress set up before we arrived. I would say that this apartment is IDEAL for 1-2 people visiting the area and okay for families (you just have to get a little creative). In any case, the rate was perfectly reasonable and I hope to rent it again for future visits! Thanks again, John!

Cozy Casa Reva!

Perfect location to come visit local family during the Thanksgiving holiday! Very cozy and we were welcomed with a bottle of wine & snacks. Full kitchen stocked with many things needed to make cooking our portion of our holiday meal a breeze. Extremely accommodating to ensure we had our parking situation squared away as street parking is not always the easiest in this area. Walking distance to two favorite bakeries - Hewn and Great Harvest and most importantly, the Central St Metra train station for getting downtown Chicago. We would love to stay here again in the future!

Lovely oasis in North Evanston

Casita Reva is a cozy, comfortable, safe place to stay in North Evanston. It's convenient to the Metra and central street shops, including several bakeries and cafes perfect for breakfasts. The backyard and interior are lovingly appointed with awesome Latin art that gives the place a feel of the best of Mexico, and features fast wifi, with off-street parking also available. Overall strongly recommend!!

Repeat stay

This is our second time staying here and it was as great as the first time. Whether spending time in the immediate area- golfing, hiking, sightseeing, shopping -or venturing to Downtown or Wrigley you have the best of all worlds. Communication with John is always prompt and they are on site if you need anything. We did not have a car this trip so easily used the train and Uber. There are shops and restaurants within walking distance as well. Do not hesitate to book this property!

Home away from home.

Casita Reva is charming. John and Amy are wonderful hosts. The casita has everything - a well-appointed kitchen, laundry, a comfortable bed and more. Public transportation, grocery stores, Northwestern and Lake Michigan are all within walking distance. If I return to Evanston I will absolutely return to Casita Reva. Great value accommodation in Evanston. Casita Reva has everything a couple or single traveller would need. Beautiful and safe neighbourhood. Hosts are very accommodating and helpful. Good shops nearby. Overall a really excellent experience.

We choose the 'off the beaten path' accommodations when traveling ourselves and we wanted to offer that option to others visiting our community.

We designed and built this unit with the short term traveler in mind. We share a love for the Southwest and Latin America and that interest is reflected in our home.

A perfect home away from home for Grandparents visiting their kids and grandchildren for longer stay. We also have accommodated local residents displaced from their homes while remodeling.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

We enjoy the neighborhood and our favorite way to start the day is to take a jog to the lake and then grab a cup of coffee or breakfast at one of the nearby coffee shops.

Ryan Field and Northwestern football is only a short walk away and the nearby Bluestone is our favorite spot for apres game..
