Your “Home Away From Home” with Private Lake, Covered Dock and Beautiful Views

Take a relaxing break in this cozy home with views of our beautiful private owned lake. Front porch or back porch; either place is the perfect spot for your morning coffee or to unwind at the end of your day.

Or, bring your fishing pole and go hang out at the lake. There is a covered dock with grill where you can relax too. Whether you choose to fish, take a walk around the lake, play board games or just hang out on a porch to read, there is plenty to do.

And…it’s just a short drive to town.
The space
This property features 3 bedrooms with queen beds and 2 bathrooms. The view of the spring fed lake is stunning from the covered back porch and fenced in back yard. It’s only surpassed by the amazing sky full of stars, winking at you all night long.

We have just completed the repainting of the outside of the house. Next, will be new landscaping. We look forward to posting new outdoor photos of our home as soon as the project is finished.

Our home is perfectly suited for a longer term guest….such as a traveling nurse. The home is fully stocked with all necessary kitchen equipment to make it feel like home away from home.
Other things to note
Amenities include golf cart riding, paddle boat and fishing. Waiver forms are required and there is an additional fee for use of golf cart.

Please note: Swimming in the lake is not allowed.

If golf is your thing….Lakeview Golf Course is only 2.5 miles away; about a 5 minute drive.

This is definitely a hidden gem. The beds are comfortable which is a blessing to someone with a bad back. Our host was most helpful by having clear check-in and out directions. They had the lights turned on welcoming us in after dark. I would definitely rebook this location. Southern hospitality with just enough homey touches that makes me feel like I am visiting family.
Peaceful and relaxing.

Extraordinary Vacation

The home was cozy and clean. The host was AWSOME and nearby if a need arose. The pond and covered dock made for great views and we saw a plethora of fish and other wildlife. Town is nearby yet it’s setting is rural and the Atlantic Ocean is only an hour away. We will be back again and I would not hesitate to recommend renting this to others.

Best VRBO I’ve stayed at!

Debra is the best host and is the most welcoming and amazing person, her home is by far the best VRBO I’ve stayed at. It’s clean, comfy, beautiful, has an amazing atmosphere, and the bass fishing is really fun! I would recommend 10/10

3 bed rooms for our golf trip.

Our party of four golfers were all set to stay in a four bedroom home in Waycross until our house was damaged by Hurricane and our reservation cancelled 4 days before arrival. That’s when I found this three bedroom gem and the owner , Deb, put an air mattress in the living room for our fourth guy to stay in. The home has been updated and is very comfortable to stay in. When we go back we will stay again! Mark The home was clean and well furnished and Deb was willing to get us anything we needed. She is one of the best hosts I have had on VRBO! Thank you Deb for allowing us to stay!

Country retreat

The images and description are accurate. Perfect place for a getaway from hustle/bustle. The property is clean and quiet. The host is very nice and responsive. Beautiful lake area. Would have preferred handheld shower devices in both bathrooms.

Absolutely adored this home, not to mention the host was so pleasant! It was definitely a home away from home feel! I will most definitely stay here again if we get back to the area. The home was so homey feeling, very nice, and just perfect for our weekend!

Relaxing Getaway

The house was decorated beautifully and very, very clean. We loved spending time fishing and relaxing on the dock. Our quest when looking for a VRBO was to find one that would be the perfect place to "chill" and that wasn't too far from home. We hit the jackpot!

Family get together and visit to Okefenokee Swamp

We spent a couple of days here and it was great. The house is clean, comfortable, and had everything we might need. It was about 30 minutes to the swamp, but an easy drive. Going to the swamp showed us all the good places to eat in town. We visited in late May. A couple of house down from this house was a u-pick blueberry farm. It was hot, but we got a ton of blueberries and they are fantastic. The house is great, highly recommend it if you are in this area a need a place to stay.

Family Time

We came to GA to visit family. We spent 4 nights. We loved this home! The first thing I noticed when opening the door is the fresh smell! It’s so clean & fresh. The kitchen was well-stocked. The beds are so comfortable! I enjoyed walking around the lake each morning. The kids enjoyed fishing every day. We plan on staying there when we go back to Blackshear!

I grew up in Blackshear; but made Texas home for most of my adult life. Had a wonderful career in Texas and raised my family there. After I retired, I started working with my husband in his business and as my parents aged, I found I was needed back on the homestead to care for them and the farm.
After some time, I decided to update the guest house and turn it into a short term rental. I have met so many wonderful people in the past year that I have been hosting. I never imagined little Blackshear would attract so many people, but I am so thankful that it does and that I have had a chance to get to know many of my guests.
My hosting style is go with the flow. I usually introduce myself since I live next door; but after that, I allow for my guests to take the lead. Some guests love visiting and others simply want to relax. Either way is fine with me. I simply want my guests to feel welcome and relaxed. At the end of the stay, it is my goal to have ultra happy guests who want to come back again and again. I hope that is how you will feel too. I look forward to meeting you one day.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento

This is the family farm where I grew up. We still plant crops every year….mostly cotton or soy beans these days. The farm is 60+ acres with a 10 acre lake. It is wonderful to sit on the back porch with a cup of coffee, glass of wine, or sweet tea and stare at the beautiful lake in the background.
Our lake features a covered dock and it is a great place to go hang out, read, fish, etc.
Everything is close by. You can drive to Blackshear in about 6 minutes or Waycross in less than 15 minutes. Having lived the fast pace life of Dallas for a lot of years, I love how slow it is here. I love that there isn’t rush hour traffic. I love that everyone is so friendly. I love that neighbors help neighbors.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

I think we are unique because we are not located in a subdivision. Our place is a farm. As such, we have a couple dogs who are very friendly. They love people but they will not bother you if you are not interested in them. At certain times of the year, you will see deer roaming down by the lake and almost daily, geese on the lake.
