Key West inspired 1BR/1BA walking distance to historic downtown Mystic

Enjoy a relaxing and fun getaway in this cozy and unique 1 bedroom 1 bath apartment, located downstairs in a 4 bedroom house. This private apartment is ideal for couples, solo travelers, or small groups who want to explore the beauty and history of Mystic. House is walking distance (1 mile) to downtown Mystic, including to the famous movie Mystic Pizza as well as 20 minutes from both Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos as well as many other local attractions including Mystic Seaport, Mystic Aquarium and Jonathon Edwards Winery.

This 1 bdrm/1 bath apartment can accommodate 4 adult guests. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, dresser, and closet. The bathroom is brand new and has a walk-in shower. The living area has a bar style eating area for 4 with smart TV and a sofabed that sleeps 2 (450 lb max). There is also a futon that can fold out and fit one-split the kids up if you desire they'll thank you for it! Bed linens and pillows are available for all beds. The kitchen is full sized and has all standard amenities. You can also enjoy your meals outside on the patio with a view of the yard where you can relax and enjoy the wild animals that often shows up in the yard (deer, turkey, squirrels, rabbits etc!)

A washer and dryer is downstairs as part of this unit and is available, please just let me know. Please sign the guest door in the hallway! (Add a pin on where you're from ;)

House sits on an acre of land with a nature reservation behind it. House is on a very peaceful street although just minutes from downtown (1 mile walk if you're so inclined!). Firepit and basketball court are all available for your use.

Upstairs are full time tenants (Sarah will be your primary contact) and if I am unavailable to answer questions over this app or by text she is more than happy to help or bring you anything you may need-Please note your space is strictly downstairs. You may also contact me directly during your stay as I am always available.

Perfect place for a small family

This place was fantastic for our small family of 3. The location is perfect for enjoying Mystic, and the yard was amazing for us and our little daughter.

Excellent stay and wonderful vibes

This was an amazing place to stay and Gwen was very responsive both before and during our stay. The tips and recommendations that were given were extremely helpful. We very much enjoyed the eclectic decor and the “home on vacation” feel. We would absolutely stay here again.

Great stay!

I loved it there!! Felt at home. Favorite part of the place was the colorful kitchen! :) And everything was so close.

The property was very clean, had all the essential amenities we needed for a three day trip, and my four year old was obsessed with the decor. The neighborhood was quiet and had sidewalks for us to take nice evening strolls. We were within walking or driving distance to everywhere we wanted to do, no more than 10 minutes from everything we needed. We had a great stay and would definitely come back in the future!

A gem

We had a great stay. The fire pit was awesome. We had a little problem with outlets in the kitchen, but Sarah upstairs helped us to get them working. Gwen was available by text through the whole process. Would definitely stay there again. Comfortable, quiet and funky.

This was enough to meet our needs for the amount of time we spent there. Was disappointed in quality of available cookware and lack of attention to cleaning in certain areas.

Lovely stay in Mystic

We had a wonderful stay at Gwen’s place. It is situated in a beautiful, quiet neighbourhood and is within walking distance of downtown Mystic. It had everything we needed and more. Highly recommended! Gwen is so friendly and gave us local recommendations too.

Anniversary night in mystic

Overall this property was very cute and cozy! It was accurately described in the listing. Minor issue with the garage door entrance but it was addressed quickly and didn’t affect our stay. Tenant upstairs was helpful and polite and we still had our privacy. I would stay here again :)

Gwen is a great host

Gwen went above and beyond for a last minute booking. Property was great for my wife and 7 year old daughter. Great communication. Highly recommend for a trip to mystic. Fire pit in the back yard was a great bonus for s’mores with my daughter.

Great spot for a quick stay on our journey

We stayed here for two nights on our road trip from Florida to Maine. It was a very nice and convenient location. We were able to spend our day at the aquarium and around Mystic, which is all very close to the apartment. Gwen was great and was there to let us in when we arrived (she was staying upstairs). She would check in to make sure we had everything we needed (which we did, the place was well stocked). Thanks for making our last stop a great one!

I really loved the decor. Many different colors of the walls.The pastels of the aplipiances. Pictures and art tucked all over the place. The multicolored silverware. The british phone box shower with the squeegee. The painted doorknobs. Chloe enjoyed all the different heights and corners. She also was more lovey dovey. She adapted this place pretty quickly and felt more at home. All the records. Every way I turned I found something else. Like the old time picnic basket with everything included. I absolutely loved this place. I felt very comfortable. Gwen was awesome. She let me stay an extra day. She responded quickly and let me know what was going on. I definitely want to come back.

This house was my childhood home. We are a military family who moved to CT from Hawaii in 1990. Upon my dad's retirement, we bought this house and have been there ever since. I spent my young adult life in the New England area, however moved to settle in Key West Florida in 2009. My parents both lived in this house until their passing (2013 and 2022), and I do not want to sell this beautiful property. I am not often spending much time in CT currently however one day I'm sure I will come back to spend many months (at least the summer/fall ones) here. I would love to give you any tips on your time in my hometown!

You will find Mystic is a peaceful and beautiful place. The neighborhood is very safe and walkable. It is only a mile to downtown if you don't want to drive!

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

I have tried to bring a little of my southern home to my northern one. I believe bright colors make people happy and I hope you enjoy it as well! The art throughout the house is from my family-- many from growing up in Hawaii and some from my mom's art collection or her paintings she did herself as an artist in the 1980's. I also try to add little new pieces to the house as I travel around the world and visit new spaces. I hope you enjoy the art as much as I do! There is a guest book as well as a PUSH PIN map to tell me where you're from!

Amenities that are unique to the house:
Coffee bar with multiple options (drip, keurig, french press, etc)
Vintage records (from my mother) and a player to play them on! (Board games and other rainy day activities in this 'game' area).
Old fashioned popcorn machine!
