Summary: Welcome to Whitaker Loft, ideally located near the City Market and the Riverwalk and directly above the renowned Flock to the Wok and Peacock Lounge. The loft has been freshly updated and features two bedrooms and two bathrooms in the heart of Savannah’s vibrant downtown. Just steps from Ellis and Johnson Square and surrounded by dining, pubs, shopping, and historical attractions, your stay will be filled with adventures.
The Space: Situated on the corner of Whitaker St. and Congress Ln and above Flock to the Wok restaurant, this second-floor apartment boasts beautiful touches like original hardwood floors, an updated kitchen, chic and comfortable furniture, and space for up to four guests. Enter the apartment through the private entrance to the right of Flock the Wok. Through the apartment doors, you will enter the main space that features an open concept from the kitchen to the living room. High ceilings with oversized windows fill the room with natural light. Directly behind the living room is a fully appointed kitchen with all new appliances and granite countertops. We provide everything from pots, pans, and small appliances to dishware, utensils, cooking utensils, and fresh coffee. A high-top bar provides two barstools for dining. Relax on the oversized sofa and two velvet sitting chairs in the living room. Stylish décor and ample natural light from large windows create an inviting place to unwind at the end of the day. A new smart TV and high-speed Wi-Fi are ready to stream your favorite shows. Finally, on the primary floor, you will find a stackable washer and dryer in the closet for your use and a powder room with a toilet and single vanity. From the living room, follow the staircase to the third floor, where two ensuites boast private bathrooms. Both ensuites are outfitted with new comfortable queen mattresses wrapped in crisp linens and plush pillows, providing a perfect place to rest. Closets and dressers provide ample storage for extended stays. The bathrooms feature a shower/tub combination in one and the other with a low-entry shower. Both bathrooms are outfitted with essentials, including towels, toilet paper, shampoo, body wash, and a hair dryer. Are you working remotely during your stay? Our Wi-Fi supports video conferencing and multi-tasking to get the job done.

Jump on Savannah’s public transit system with the Whitaker and Broughton WB just a 1-minute walk from the apartment. This free DOT trolley circulates downtown and provides ample stops at all the major attractions. Want more options? Download the city’s local version of Uber called “The Downtowner.” Simply download the app, and they will pick you up for free!
Other Things to Note: No parties. Only the number of guests listed on the reservation is permitted at the property. No illicit activities, peddling, or soliciting are allowed on the property. This unit was very clean and well decorated. It was spacious and comfortable and the entrance was clean and secure. It was well located in terms of walkability to shops, dining and attractions. Having to pay for parking and walk a few blocks to the parking was inconvenient but not a big deal. The one negative….. it is surrounded by bars and it was loud and rowdy on Friday and Saturday night, well into the wee hours. As quiet country folk, we needed ear plugs to sleep. The streets were trashed in the morning, but thank goodness there are cleaners so if you don’t get up as early as we do you won’t see that. I would stay at this place again if it was in a different spot because as I mentioned, the unit itself was lovely, but too loud on the weekend for us.

Cute place!
The location was great. The apartment was very clean. It lacked some kitchen supplies. The neighborhood is loud at night with the bars below, however when you go upstairs to bed you can’t hear it. So that’s a plus. There is no street parking the parking garage is a few blocks away which makes it a little difficult to unload and load your stuff. A little pricey for me for what get, but overall it was nice.

The property is wonderful. Two couples each had private en-suite bedrooms. Living area is very clean, modern, and comfortable. Fabulous location right downtown; however that means noise at night. We got through the noise, but it should be mentioned. The property is located directly over a popular restaurant, "Flock To The Wok" and their downstairs "Peacock Lounge, where you can eat and drink deep into the night" (this is directly from their website).
One quick item to mention: if you are going to a restaurant or bar you MUST bring proof of age. With the youngest of our party being 68 years old we were all still asked to show ID at each restaurant we visited.
Parking is about 2 blocks away in a public parking garage. We arrived on a Friday afternoon and left on a Sunday. We were pleasantly surprised that the parking was just $22.00 for 2 nights. That must be the weekend rate. Overall a very pleasant place to stay.
