Welcome to Cliff Cottage, located on Townsend Gut at the top end of Southport Island. This cottage has been lovingly remodeled and is the perfect place to make life-long Maine memories.  This 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath cottage offers sleeping for up to eight. (This house is not recommended for children under 10.) On the main floor is a half bath off the hallway and a spacious master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom. Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a bath with a shower.  The second bedroom upstairs has a king bed.  The third bedroom offers 2 twin beds. And, the fourth bedroom offers a queen bed. All are comfortable and nicely appointed with good lighting and great views of the Gut. Enjoy morning coffee as the sun comes up; meals under the stars at the large table, or simply sit and watch the goings-on of boating activity and wildlife on the water.  Seals, seagulls, osprey, and eagles are just some of the things you will see from the deck.  Why not try fishing off the dock, or cocktails at sunset in the chairs at the head of the dock?

THE HOUSE: This is a true Maine Cottage with old-world charm and modern amenities, huge windows, hardwood floors, wooden cabinetry, and cottage chic décor, you will want to stay all year!

Main Level: Offers open-concept living, dining, and kitchen areas and you will enjoy the comfortable well-coordinated decor.  Large deck on the waterside from the living room. The master bedroom suite with a private bath, half bath, and cozy sitting room between the master bedroom and the living room all make for a very livable vacation home.

Second Floor:  Three bedrooms: one water facing with king bed, one queen bed also on the waterside, one bedroom with 2 twin beds facing east.

If you want someone else to do the cooking for you, The Newagen Inn offers an award-winning restaurant and bar.  Or head over to Robinson’s Wharf for some fresh seafood while you watch the local lobstermen bring in their catch.

Staying in?  Robinson’s Wharf also offers a full seafood market on-site.  The Southport General Store is just a few minutes up the road and offers everything you need, including a deli and grill, pizzas, beer and wine, and an assortment of local treats.

The island offers the chance to swim in the ocean and soak up some sun at Hendricks Head Beach.

Feel like heading into town?  Boothbay Harbor is minutes away, offering shopping, dining, and entertainment in a historic seaside setting.  For day trips, our location is ideal, offering a mid-point along Route 1, from historic Bath to Rockport, and all the quaint villages along the way (Wiscasset, Damariscotta, and Waldoboro).  Make a day trip then return home to catch the sunset.
