Discover the perfect blend of lakeside charm and the modern ambiance of Alden, MI. Conveniently located between Traverse City and Charlevoix Michigan, check out our updated Blue Spruce Cottage. This 2 bed/1.5 bath home features every modern amenity to comfort you and your guests. With direct shared frontage to Thayer Lake, you’ll enjoy a secret paradise for fisherman. The Cottage comes with shared use of our guest kayaks, canoes and access to our private sandy beach. You can see the lake from the kitchen and patio. As an added convenience, guests can utilize their own mudroom with in-unit washer and dryer. The living room features the added bonus of a queen sleeper sofa for additional guests.

Everything was wonderful! The driveway was cleared despite heavy snow on the day of arrival. Great amenities throughout the house. Our stay could not have been better. Thanks for being available on short notice.

Great Place to Stay

We had a great stay here. Beautiful property. They supply coffee, sugar and other things that help your stay be awesome like ketchup, mustard and soap and sandwich bags. Very clean property. Easy check out. Would absolutely stay here again.

Amazing House, Perfect Location!!

Our family of 4 had the most amazing time here! The owner was a sweetheart and very helpful when I had questions. The house is so nice, super comfy beds, and had everything we needed. My son loved walking to the lake to kayak and fish. Definitely looking forward to staying here again!!

Everything was great. Spacious and comfortable. The jacuzzi is a great touch to the home. Steps from the Thayer lake made for great memories in the water with the kids. The kitchen was a perfect size ! Would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking to visit Torch Lake. Only 15 mins from Torch Lake sandbar.

We had a girls trip- myself, my mom, my daughter , and my daughters friend. We were pleasantly surprised with this VRBO- the house was clean and in a great location! The hot tub and fire pit and also the thayer lake access was great! Owner was very friendly and great at responding! We will definitely be booking again for next year!

Lots to do and comfortable stay!

We've been coming to the Torch Lake area for 30 years with my family. This year was our first time staying at Thayer Lake and we were very pleased with our experience. Still super close to Torch and Thayer Lake Retreats offered a lot of things for our family to do. Our grandkids loved going to the beach and swimming out to the large raft, kayaking, fishing, and the hot tub! Host was easy to contact regarding access to home. Very clean and nicely decorated.

We truly enjoyed our stay at this house. Its in a perfect location ( just down from butches and a short drive to town) The house was clean, comfortable and beautifully decorated!

Girls Trip

The house was beautiful and it had everything we needed. We were able to float on the lake the cottage is on, and we were close enough to go over to Torch Lake and drive over there. We had a great stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Blue spruce cottage. Everything was spotless!! Well stocked and great amenities. We would absolutely stay here again!!! We went to Torch Lake, Lake Michigan and Elk Lake. Such a quick and easy drive to all 3 beautiful lakes. Excellent location.

I would highly recommend booking this place!

This property is in the PERFECT location! There is so many beautful lakes surrounding it and the ammenities at the home made a perfect ending to our lake days! Board games, cards, kayaks, canoos and the fire pit did not go unrecognized. It was our first time visiting this region of Michigan and the owners were very helpful and quick to respond. 10 out of 10 vacation house!

Clean and Cute cottage! Totally remodeled. Check-in and check-out were easy. Helpful binder in the cottage with information about the cottage, nearby attractions and restaurants. Binder also included wi-fi info. Hot tube was a nice bonus, there was a fire pit with Adirondack chairs at each cottage along with a cute firewood station with a wagon to purchase firewood. Picnic table on patio and sun shade. Thayer Lake is at the rear of the property and has a sandy area to enter lake, docks and is beautiful. The cottage had all the little necessities garbage bags, laundry detergent, hand soap at each sink, a few rolls of toilet paper for each bathroom, paper towels, dish towels, sponge, salt, pepper and olive oil, shampoo and conditioner and plenty of bath towels. We loved hearing the ELK bugle to one another on the other side of the lake! We highly recommend Thayer Lake cottages!
