Thank you for your review of Smoky Mountain Cottage. I have spoken to head of housekeeping and the kitchen will be checked and fully stocked if necessary. The deck has 4 chairs and a table and also more chairs in the screened in porch which are adequate for the chalet which only sleeps 4 people. We do not leave any perishable items such as salt and pepper shakers due to bugs or they could be tampered with at any time so we are sorry if this was an inconvenience to you. Wonderful getaway

We loved the layout of the home, plenty of room for my husband and me, and our daughter who joined us later. The view is spectacular and the home is so welcoming and comfortable. We did have bear visits too! There’s nothing to compare with Christmas in the Smokies!

Family & friends spectacular weekend

THe BBQ in which we used one day brought the forest to us might I add. An exhilarating moment that happened twice. Overall the views, Hot Tub, balcony lured us outside constantly and then the kitchen / living room area welcomed us pleasantly.

The forest visitors have a path through your yard and the surrounding neighbors, so it is best to keep a sharp eye out and always have an unlocked door near by for a quick getaway. The deck at Smoky Mountain Cottage is a favorite of our guests offering an unobstructed mountain view. We hope to see you again soon.

The porch view is why we booked this and it did not disappoint. The cottage itself could use some maintenance - (some floor pieces missing, around the hot tub is missing panels, seems to be a water leak under kitchen sink that had an odor, the couch needs to be replaced ). We were overall pleased though for the time we spent there ! The renting agency was easy to work with.

Sorry you experienced some inconvenience due to maintenance issues at Smoky Mountain Cottage. Repairs are usually done quickly after being discovered, or if a guest reports an issue, we try to address it while the guest is here. We leave that up to the guest, if they want us in the cabin or not. If it's a safety issue, it will be taken care of immediately. Not sure what you mean about the toilets being torture. They are at a standard height for toilets and in good working order. There are currently no grab bars in the showers, but we will look into adding those for our guests who need them. If you could contact the office with any specific repairs you saw, we would truly appreciate the call. It is unfortunate the way you feel about the reviews because they are from actual guests and reflect their experiences. We hope you will consider staying with us again in the future.

Never received my deposit back

Great Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We got into town late and the after hours check-in was a breeze. As soon as we got into the house we saw a black bear out of the bedroom window! We were there for three nights and even though we spent a fair amount of time in town, we ended up having three or four bear sightings. The house was clean and there was enough cookware and supplies to support our meal plan while we were there which made it nice to not have to bring those items with us. We had a great view and it felt private even with the other vacation rentals around us. I feel like (in a post-COVID world) the price we paid was on par with the experience, location, and amenities we received.

The view from the deck and den are just awesome. The house was super clean and we loved the decor. There is plenty of room to maneuver your car in the drive and the carport is a plus. The only thing we noticed is that the house could use some updated kitchen ware, frying pans, plates. As far as Mnt. Laurel Chalet company goes, they are the best. We have been staying with them since the late 80's. We will be returning to this house again. It just feels like home. Thank you!!

There was potato chip crumbs on the floor. The kitchen sink when I went to clean it was a disgusting dirty green. The hardwood floors were filthy. They need new living room furniture. The view was great!$

Melissa, We are so surprised by your comments and will look into this. Other guest continually remark on how much they love this house. The kitchen sink is copper so there tends to be a patina on it. The wood burning fireplace sometimes leaves a woodsy smell but we checked out the smell and didn't smell anything or any hint of fabeze. Were you able to contact the office with any concerns as we would have addressed those immediately.

Inside the cottage is exactly as it appears online. Simply lovely. We saw a bear on the hill behind us as soon as we arrived. The location was really easy to find and actually gave us the opportunity to see other Mountain Chalet Cabins along the way. We did have one problem with the living room TV that they tried to repair, but couldn't before we left. It wasn't a big deal since we could stream channels and spent very little time watching TV anyway. I wish we could have used the wbfp inside, but at least got to use the outside one. We would definitely like to stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall the property and location were amazing.The views from the deck were spectacular. The jacuzzi was a bonus for sure. The only down side was the living room furniture was dingy and very worn with tears and lots of crumbs in the cushions. I would not recommend using the fireplace unless you want tho whole house to smell like smoke for days. Also there are NO hooks/towel bars to hang the small amounts of towels provided after showers/jacuzzi etc

Charming and cozy!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We love this place. Wide open kitchen and living area. The view is fantastic, especially the full length windows looking out from the living area. Wonderful fireplace. The bathrooms are new and very pretty but need a towel bar. The deck is the whole length of the house. This is a charming place to stay. 💖

Smoky Mountain Cottage -A place that restores our soul.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our second stay in the Smoky Mountain Cottage this year and it has quickly become "our place". Everything about a Mountain Laurel Chalet experience is very professional, no detail overlooked. When they say guests are considered family, that is exactly how we were made to feel. The view from the back deck is special as you watch the sun rise above the mountains that rise up behind downtown Gatlinburg. Oh, did I say we will be back?

A fun stay!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The layout and the property the cabin sits on are great. We spent the majority of our time outside. The view from the deck is beyond phenomenal. However, the cabin itself needs a lot of updating and the furniture needs replaced in a very bad way. Overall it was a good stay though.
