About this space
2.2 mile to Balloon Fiesta Park. 10 minutes from Sandia Peak Tramway/Ski area access.The north valley of Albuquerque provides a charming location for this comfortable space. Beautiful cottonwoods frame views of the balloons and Sandia Mountains. Spacious bedroom with king size bed, living room with couch and kitchenette provide lovely accommodations. Take in views from the upper deck or relax in the hot tub in back yard. Stairs lead the way to your abode in the the far North Valley. Covered parking for your vehicle.
The space
Upstairs separate apartment above large home. Enjoy your own private access separate from main house. Around 550 square feet. Large bedroom with king size bed. Lovely tiled bathroom, Kitchenette with stove , microwave and refrigerator. Living room with sleeper sofa. Outdoor deck with great views. Enjoy heavily planted outdoor areas, patios, decks and hot tub. A renowned guitar teacher and great friend of the host lives and teacher in a lovely music/art studio on the back part of the property separate from the main house and casita. He is available for guest needs as well.
Guest access
Come and go as you like. Guests have private access to the Guadalupe Casita. Shared areas include a Lovely yard and chickens greet guests if you wish to explore the outdoor areas of the property. Decks, patios and hot tub in shared space of backyard.
Other things to note
Great, peaceful area. Friendly dogs live on my property. The road the casita is located on is from the 1600’s it’s one in one out and a bit narrow. Large trucks plan on parking next to road parallel.

An unfortunate incident happened with our stay. On returning one evening, there were signs that someone had possibly been inside the rental. I sent an email to Jason inquiring if anyone had been inside. I received a response that noone had been inside. It was dropped. The next evening on returning, Jason was waiting outside for us. He had obviously taken offense at the question being asked. Without inquiring first of all why we had a legitimate concern, he began lecturing us for asking such a question and telling us we were being disrespectful and rude for asking. When I told him the reason, he seemed to accept that and later he emailed stating he would look into the issue. We were so unsettled by his confrontation that we quickly packed up and left before getting our last night's stay. His unfair assumptions and judgement were disturbing to say the least.

The single most strange approach to communication by a guest I have experienced. I was informed via a rather absolute insistent message that someone had been in their rental. No factual account of why they believed this to be true. If something in my home, the rental I have graciously invited them into and have extended great trust in allowing them to stay requires attention I will as always inform the guest. Absolutely no way I or any staff would enter the unit without communicating such. I was enjoying my back porch when they returned. I asked about their stay, which they enjoyed. I had to ask several times why they felt someone had been in the unit! Finally I was told the toilet water was discolored. I asked did you successfully flush the toilet before leaving for the day? Jumping to some strange conclusion that someone would sneak in to use a toilet while you were out is out there. Accusing the owner of the property in such a severe manner of doing so is incredibly offensive. Happy trails and perhaps don’t forget to flush next time?

Awesome North Valley location!

I really enjoyed my stay at Jason’s casita! It had everything I needed - a well supplied kitchen, a comfy bed, a fabulous shower - all on a wonderfully eclectic property - with chickens! And it was perfectly located for some work I was doing a few blocks away. I’d definitely recommend it - and will stay there again in the future!

Fantastic, quite neighborhood. Historic neighborhood on the Camino Real from Mexico City to Santa Fe. Located in one of the world’s largest cotton wood groves. History and charm are plentiful in this lovely part of Albuquerque’s far North Valley. The Rio Grande is with in walking distance, with countless hiking and nature trails. Cross the Rio Grande to the westside and find grocery stores, many restaurants and retailers of every type.
