Begin the day with coffee on the expansive waterview deck watching the seagulls and eagles overhead. Enjoy winery, cidery, brewery, meadery, and distillery tastings all within a short drive from this estate. A day at the beach is waiting for you just minutes away. You can take your pick of great hiking spots, including state parks, Trillium Trails, and Ebey’s Landing. Shop until you drop with antiques in Freeland, artisans on the Whidbey Art Trail, and gifts galore in downtown Langley. Whatever your friends and family enjoy, there is something for everyone.

Wind down the day by cooking a family dinner in one of three full kitchens. Dine in the formal dining room, alfresco on the covered veranda, or enjoy a picnic in the garden. Sip wine on the deck and watch the sunset. Fall asleep to the sounds of frogs, crickets, and owls. Wake refreshed after a great night's sleep for another day of Whidbey adventures.

You have rented the entire property: House, Verandah, Cottage and Studio.
Check-in time: 4:00 p.m.
Check-out time: 10:00 a.m.
All guests shall abide by Vacasa’s good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.
No smoking or vaping is permitted anywhere on the premises.

Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Family Gathering

We enjoyed our time and this place worked well for our family gathering of 40 people including a lot of babies too. There were plenty of supplies including towels & washcloths!

Perfect Family Reunion for Wedding Location!!

We had an awesome stay at The Quintessa! The cottage was the perfect location for parents of bride and the main house accommodated the bride’s family beautifully in large relaxing spaces! We had lovely dinners on lower and upper veranda and enjoyed the lawn games. So much to do on Whidbey Island and we highly recommend this home!

Wedding party

The Quintessa is beautiful and accommodates a large group well. Shared spaces are generously sized and rooms are clean, comfortable and nicely appointed. A fabulous location, too. Just 10 minutes away from multiple key locations around Langley!!

Good for family reunion

The house is big and very well equipped. Huge kitchen with tons of dishes. We had a big family reunion and the property worked really well for us - bedrooms for everyone, big yard and area to play or run around. It was easy to cook and serve big meals and people had space to just hang out and be together. The two separate living units are ideal for people who want to escape, or maybe for little ones to nap. The house itself is dated but that doesn't really matter. The space works for a big group and it's also in a great location on the island.

Beautiful Property

The Quintessa is a beautiful home with lots of room for large groups. Our family loves to cook and the main kitchen was great with plenty of working space. The kids enjoyed wondering through the woods and playing in a little creek that runs through the property. It was the perfect property for our family.

Renaissance wedding

Everyone enjoyed our time at this wonderful retreat. The weather cooperated and the couple was married, all to much fanfare. The grounds were a great setting for the nuptials.

Wonderful Weekend

We are a family of four generations and all 30 of us had a very enjoyable weekend at the Quintessa. The owners were very accommodating and pleasant to work with. The home was spacious and very comfortable. All of the kitchen appliances and utensils we needed were available as well. It seems that the owners have thought of everything to make our stay enjoyable and stress-free.

Excellent location and great service by property managers

The immediate surroundings are rural and peaceful. Several interesting destination within 10-30 minute drive. The one problem that came up with the plumbing system was quickly resolved. Note that the main house only has 4 bathrooms.

Lovely, with nuances

Lovely property with responsive hosts. Guests should note there's no air conditioning, though the host did provide box fans for each room. While there are laundry facilities, the well water has tannins that will stain whites, so we made some trips to a local Laundromat. Overall we loved our stay and highly recommend!

Perfect Spot!

The Quintessa was the perfect spot for our family reunion. We had over 35 people, ranging from 5 days old to 66 years old! Plenty of bedroom space, living spaces and the kitchen was fully stocked with plenty of cooking and dining supplies. The yard was the perfect space for our "Family Olympics" and there was plenty of space on the decks for family meals. Communication with the owner was quick and thorough. Highly recommend for any size group wanting to get away to enjoy the beautiful Pacific Northwest.

Amazing!

We held our annual family reunion at the Quintessa the week of July 6-13, 2024. We have held an annual family reunion since 1997 (except 2020) and this was the best place and absolutely the best hosts we have ever had. Not only was the house fully stocked with everything we needed (bath towels, beach towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, fully stocked kitchen, etc), but Carrie and Tessa were incredibly responsive and helpful with everything we asked. All 31 of our family members (ages 14-92) had a comfortable place to sleep. Whidbey Island is gorgeous too! Thanks so much, Carrie and Tessa!

Great for family reunions / water pressure a problem

We love this house and it is the second time we have stayed here. There are great easy walks and a good playground for children short drives away. The only issue was the water pressure. It resulted in our having to thoroughly rinse dishes before putting them in the dishwasher (which acted more as a sterilizer). With so many people, this felt like a real waste.

Family reunion

We had a very large family reunion planned (28) and decided to stay in a single house rather than individual cabins/units. The Quintessa was able to accommodate the range of ages (7-74) and privacy needs with numerous large bedrooms and spacious living rooms and kitchens. We were able to avoid using the available sofa beds since those are usually rough on adult bodies and had a great time together. The amenities were wonderful: well stocked kitchens, linens, cleaning supplies, games for indoors and outdoors, books & movies, and the hosts are extremely nice and helpful. Plus, Whidbey Island has many parks and beaches that are interesting and relaxing.

Lovely property and house for spending large family gatherings. Dishwasher was broken and that was not great. Also, after turning all thermostats to off, still super hot in January. Had to open windows! Can't be good for reducing heating costs.

Great family reunion site

The Quintessa was perfect for our family reunion, as we had visitors of all ages and from several states. The house had lots of room for gatherings, games, and chatting. We especially liked being outdoors on the balconies and in the yard. The kitchen was extremely well provisioned for preparing meals. Our Hosts were very good communicators. Its convenient location means we could easily go by car on excursions to visit towns and beaches.

NAACP RETREAT AT WHIDBEY

although the ferry lines were a little long. It was the worst part of the entire weekend. The Quinressa was emasculate and well kept. My guest truly enjoyed the layoff and ease of location. The hostess Carrie was very responsive and always accommodating. I will definitely stay there again.

Perfect for our big family!

This was our second time staying at the Quintessa and hopefully not the last! This house on Whidbey Island has everything we needed for a long holiday weekend with family. The hosts are responsive and so great and we all had a fabulous time. Rave reviews from the whole family, including the kids!!

Reunion week on Whidbey

We stayed at The Quintessa for our week-long family reunion the last week in July. It wasn’t easy finding a property that could fit our large group of 25 people, ranging in age from 3 to 70+, so when I stumbled into the posting for this home it seemed too good to be affordable. But that wasn’t the case. The price was very reasonable for what we were getting. We ended up renting the entire estate and it worked out perfectly. We all had plenty of space to spread out during the day and more then enough bedrooms to accommodate all the adults and kids. The downstairs was great for the kids to hang out while the adults were in the main kitchen prepping dinner. And the outdoor space was wonderful to enjoy in the early evenings after a day full of adventures in the surrounding areas. The kids set up the volleyball net and we had games every evening. The seating for meals (mainly dinner) was more than enough. We really enjoyed eating our meals out on the balcony and watched the sun set every day. The owners was easy to reach via text for any questions we had and they were quick to take care of anything that needed attention. The house was well stocked for cooking meals, which we did most nights there. The grocery store was a short drive away and was well stocked with pretty much anything you need. We had a great week at the house and highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable place to fit a large group.

Beautiful House + Wonderful Service

We loved staying in this house. There were enough rooms for everyone, ranging from 3 kids rooms to 6 couple rooms, everyone fit in wonderfully. The moms enjoyed the spacious dream kitchen, the dads enjoyed the comfortable and cozy family room with a beautiful view. The girls enjoyed the lovely garden and gazebo very much. The guys enjoyed the downstairs tv room. Overall, the house was very very nice, and very home-like. All ages enjoyed the house, and loved the beautiful location as well. The rooms and bathrooms were nicely cleaned and they had extra mattresses for guests downstairs if needed. It was also very convenient that the owners live so close, so they can help with anything, anytime. Speaking of the owners, Carrie and Tessa were so helpful. I don’t even know what I would do without them. I wish I could give their service a 6/5. Whenever we had questions and requests, Carrie and Tessa would always help us out to the best of their ability. They are so professional, everyone in the house loved them. This experience (house and service) was one of our favorites, and we are so happy that this was such a pleasant experience. Thanks to Carrie and Tessa!
