Pennay's is in the perfect spot near the river and hiking/biking paths. It's an easy walk into town yet the property feels private and exclusive. The Pennay's team is warm and friendly and the unit was exactly as advertised.

Location was super ideal. We had our own designated path to the chairlift. The bed was a little uncomfortable but other than that, amazing!

Almost slopeside

Great property - exactly what we were looking for. We rode the free shuttle to the mountain in the morning (stops across the street) and walked back in the afternoon. Quiet neighborhood. Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Great to have the gas fireplace.

Perfect location to ski and town! Cheri was super responsive and helpful. Unit a bit outdated with enough but minimal kitchen supplies. More than adequate for two of us. Would stay there again - sounds like updating units over time.

Everything you need is there including plenty of storage space in the bathroom, bedroom and kitchen. The location can't be beat. Very close to Big Wood River and Bald Mountain and an easy walk to town. We would definitely stay here again.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We were lucky to find Pennays after a VRBO cancelled on us. I wasn’t sure how my 12 and 14 year olds would sleep in the bunks. They loved them and slept great. (Probably not great for anyone taller than 5’5”). Kitchen supplies just Ok. We were overall very happy.

Great location

I don't think you can stay closer to River Run, location is excellent. 0.25mi easy walk to the lift. The community hot tub was in questionable condition, the water didn't look good. That was a bummer. The accommodations are showing their age but are still in working order. Snow control across Sun Valley was very poor but that's not the owners fault. Ice management in the parking lot could have been better though.

Great location, okay accommodations

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is definitely the best location and the closest to "ski in/ski out" you can get at Sun Valley. It's a very short walk/ski to the gondola base and there's a lovely walking/bike path just above the property that we took our dog on every day. Being a dog friendly place was a huge bonus for us. The condo itself was fine overall - nice to have a full kitchen and the large fireplace was lovely. The bed was old and uncomfortable, but could be easily improved with a mattress topper from Costco. It was nice to have towels refreshed after two days and garbage service. The hot tub was large and we had it to ourselves each time we used it. The temp could be increased, especially since it's outside and people get snow in it. Overall, we were comfortable and the convenience of location and having our dog made it a great stay!

Good place for skiers in Ketchum

Reviewer Comments: Pennay's has pretty much what you need for a ski stay -- ample space, kitchen, gas fireplace, outdoor hot tub, etc.The "ski in, ski out" label is a bit of a stretch, but that's often the case. With Pennay's, you can walk a couple of hundred yards to the lift, with skis or without, but you have to take your skis off to cross the river. On the way back, you can ride the "sleigh" (snowmobile) which is pictured on the web site under "ski in, ski out", suggesting that skiing to the snowmobile qualifies.Only other note is that the unit has "instant hot water" -- a small holding tank that quickly replenishes. It takes 3 of these (waiting about 10 minutes each time) to fill the bathtub in the unit if you'd like to take a bath.
