The space was perfect. Everything you might have needed was provided, it was clean, inviting and beautifully laid out. Perfect location so close to many ideal hiking/biking spots. Definitely would stay here again.

Perfect little getaway

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights so he could participate in the Hudson Valley Triathlon. The apartment is adorable and clean. The location is convenient to downtown New Paltz and the Gunks. Having access to the pool and hot tub was amazing as well! Communication with Franky was great and check in and out was seamless. We would definitely stay here again.

Great spot, lovely hosts

My wife and I loved the apartment and hot tub! Frankie and Jenny were the perfect hosts, available when we needed, but invisible otherwise. The space is sunny and brights, above a converted garage. The appliances were all new but the vibe was very cozy and well organized. We are both middle aged and cranky sleepers, but the bed was firm and the area remarkably quiet. The hot tub is a short walk to the back of the main house but the hosts had their shades drawn for our privacy. The drive to New Paltz is under 10 minutes, and Kingston and Rosedale were a bit further but great outings. 5/5 stars across the board, will be back!

Cozy studio in New Paltz

This sweet studio is located above a garage—perfect for a single or couple. It is near hiking, biking, and eateries. Spotless, well equipped. Enjoyed my stay here!

Perfect peaceful getaway

Jenny and Franky were incredibly sweet, responded very quickly to any questions. Very very accommodating towards us. Very clean, peaceful and cozy property. Stayed for two nights after our wedding for a little private time. They left us a bottle of champagne in the fridge which was very very nice of them! Would stay here again!

Lovely stay

My spouse and I had a lovely stay. The hosts were very communicative and friendly. The house was cozy and had a balcony overlooking trees, and the backyard was spacious and had places to sit and relax. The pool and hot tub were amazing too we swam everyday!

Great location for heading into New Paltz for dinner and for heading to Minnewaska or Mohonk for hiking. Nice deck for sunset views or star gazing after sundown. Franky and Jenny are great hosts.

Great Location...Perfect Getaway

We live just a few hours from the rental property and just needed to get away from it all for a few days. The property was perfect for our needs! Cozy, warm, quiet, and comfortable. Frank and Jenny were great hosts- contacted us on arrival to make sure everything was okay and to see if we needed anything. The cottage is in a quiet area surrounded by beautiful homes and properties and worth a walk down the main road. It is also just a few miles from some amazing local food and drink spots. We are looking forward to returning during some warmer weather in the future and further explore the area. We highly recommend both the property and its location for a couple looking to get away for a few days or a long weekend!

Peaceful country retreat

We really enjoyed staying at Gunksview. Well appointed studio space, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Very clean. We especially enjoyed the deck. Owner is very friendly and knowledgeable about New Paltz. We plan to stay again if we are in the area.

Quiet Getaway

My kids and I enjoyed our stay. The pool was refreshing and the house was perfect. We also loved hiking at the nearby Mohonk Preserve and checking out New Paltz.

Beautiful in every way

our stay at Franky and Jen’s place was perfect. The studio was well appointed and immaculate. The house is near Mohonk and Minnewaska State Park. Their property is beautiful and we enjoyed bird watching from the deck. The salt water pool was refreshing the land surrounding was simply beautiful. The plus is that it is also near to the center of New Paltz with good food options and anything else you need. Our hosts were lovely and had great recommendations for both outdoor adventures and food. We hope to come back again!

We were very pleased during our stay. The studio space was exactly as shown. We had everything we needed for a birthday getaway. The property manager is blessed with very friendly chickens that we met on the first day. And the salt water pool was amazing. Thanks for a quiet enjoyable stay.

Home away from home

We wanted to get away from the city and come to a place surrounded by flora and fauna. Chipmunks, and bunnies, and deer, oh my! We got to feed the chickens and enjoy their fresh eggs for breakfast. There was a huge yard to play in, a pool, a garden and swing set perfect for our little one. The town was a ten minute drive away but if you wanted to take long walks along the road there were trees and lakes and mountain views. Our hosts Jenny and Franky were totally awesome, and friendly, just like their big golden lab Guapo. We can’t wait to come back ASAP!

Totally awesome!

I almost don't want to give away the secret of this sweet hideaway. It's a clean, efficient upstairs unit with a kitchen, comfy bed and other seating, nice TV (Netflix, etc.), and deck with chairs and BBQ. The owners provided us with fresh eggs (so delicious), milk, granola, yogurt, and fresh tomatoes from the garden. We met the chickens in the back yard, rode bikes on the quiet street, saw deer. It's close to the town and to hiking, plus Jennifer gave us info on where to hike, eat, and raincoats for when it rained. There's a pool and a wonderful outdoor shower. Our hosts couldn't be nicer. We'll be back.

Lovely Place in a Great Location

We really enjoyed our stay at this little gem in New Paltz. The location is great for visiting New Paltz and the surrounding area. We view this cottage as an excellent alternative to staying in a hotel and with very fair pricing. The house was very clean and Franky was incredibly responsive and welcoming. We'd recommend this place to anyone desiring to visit New Paltz.

Great space with welcoming owners.

My daughter and I really enjoyed our stay here. Jenny was friendly and welcoming and offered us much needed expertise about hiking in the area. The studio is comfortable and has all of the amenities you need. The availability of fresh eggs and tomatoes is an added bonus! Add in the beautiful scenery and hiking trails, as well as the lovely Robibero Winery and I can’t say enough good things about our experience!

We love to hike, mountain bike, kayak, snow shoe, and cross country ski. In every season of the year we find activities to enjoy the outdoors. We also love to eat organically from our land, enjoy the beauty that surrounds us, and living a peaceful and serene life. Jen may be spotted knitting on our front porch while the sun sets.

Our property sits facing west at the majestic Shawangunk Ridge. The sunrises and the sunsets are breathtaking. In the morning, you will see a red hue shimmering on the rocks as the sun rises from the east. In the evening, an amazing bright orange glow as the set falls behind the ridge in the west.

Falling in love with this property was easy once we saw the huge rock pile we had for a view. Sitting on the foothills of these mountains, only four miles from the town of New Paltz, we new we had the best location for our home. We are minutes away from everything exciting this town has to offer. The New Paltz area has the finest restaurants, wineries, outdoor festivals and events the Hudson valley has to offer. Don't miss the Taste of New Paltz, Crafts Fairs, or Rib festival our town hosts every year. There are also many smaller events hosted at wineries throughout the year. The outdoor activities that are possible in over 24,000 acres of trails, ponds, rock cliffs for climbing, ice climbing, and swimming holes are endless. After you return from your activities, lounge on the 24' deck or in our hammock area in the shade as you enjoy the beautiful gardens. We have carefully selected and planted all the perennials, shrubs, grasses, and trees to reflect a gorgeous landscape in color and form. The Chamber of Commerce selected our property to be on the annual garden tour. Over 200 guests visited our gardens and were inspired by this experience. Our property has a natural creek running though it which allows for wildlife such as heron, frogs, toads, deer, and fox to visit us for a drink. Our pool is private and will cool you off after a day of hiking in the woods. Our bon fire area is perfect for star gazing on brisk evenings while sip on hot chocolate. You are welcome to stroll the gardens, pick flowers, or collect eggs from our chicken coop. The ladies would be happy to share their delicious eggs with you. We want our guests to feel at home when they stay with us. Come visit and see for yourself!
