Welcome to Hunters Landing! With views that immerse you in the natural beauty of the St. Louis River banks, and convenient access to the water, 12 trailheads, and Spirit Mountain, this is the secure lower apartment in a new (May 2024), two-level home (aka Hunters Lodge). Owned by three proud Denfeld HS alumni (the “Hunters”), its design celebrates the best of western Duluth and includes locally crafted outdoor furniture from Loll Designs, and cozy, eclectic interior furnishings expressing local, regional, and global influences. The Landing features a living space with kitchenette and a BBQ patio overlooking the river with picnic table and seating. This beautiful home sleeps 6 in 2 bedrooms and a convertible sofa. Part of the RiverWest community, Hunters Landing is among the closest homes to the river. The community offers easy access to nearby kayak and other boat rentals for exploring the river, and a wealth of year-round outdoor activities including downhill and cross-country skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, all kinds of biking, hiking, fishing, and more. Yet, I-35, Lincoln Park, Canal Park, Lake Superior and most Twin Ports destinations are all only minutes away. Loved our stay. My mom is convinced she should move in permanently. Everything is comfortable, well arranged, and immaculate. I’ll be recommending this location to all my ski pals for their trips to Spirit Mountain.

Beautiful views, beautiful place

We had a great time staying here. The unit was super clean and nicely appointed. We had no complaints and loved watching the sun rise over the St. Louis river each morning. Just a few minutes from the lower lift at Spirit Mountain, we will definitely stay here again.

Family Visit

We were in town to visit family that lives in the area. The rental location was super convenient for us. Beautiful view from patio. I’d love to explore the bike trail next time, we were so busy this trip we didn’t get a chance.

Great location for outside activities.

This new ground floor apartment, accessible without any stairs, has great views of the river. The kitchenette is small but well supplied. You can ride your bike out of the garage and onto a well maintained rail trail in 2 blocks. There is kayaking on the river and a ski resort across the main road. You are just minutes from Duluth. The property manager responded quickly to inquiries. There is still a lot of construction in the area.

Good for our brief visit to Duluth

Nice and new, quiet. Everything was fine for our two day stay to explore Duluth. I definitely can see how this property would be attractive to winter enthusiasts as it is right across the street from Spirit Mountain. It was a little farther west of Duluth than we may have ideally wanted, but it was one of the few properties that was newer and had attractive photos among the listings. The view of the water was really nice. We were able to have our well behaved dog, and it worked out well. We didn’t do any major cooking, but we did use the fridge and microwave, which was handy for our leftovers. There was also an electric teapot, for heating water, which was great! There were storms in the area and we appreciated being able to park our car in the garage. No complaints and thanks!
