Platte River Getaway

Seguirás una sinuosa carretera privada hasta esta escapada de Platte River y descubrirás una casa aislada de estilo rancho de tres dormitorios y 1400 pies cuadrados que cuenta con una cocina totalmente equipada y una acogedora chimenea / estufa de gas en la sala de estar. El baño principal está ubicado cerca de todas las habitaciones y el baño de 1/2 es un paseo entre el dormitorio principal y el área de la cocina.

Con una combinación de grandes ventanas y cercanía al río, puedes ver truchas y salmones nadando desde la sala de estar. Hay una pequeña pasarela al otro lado del río que conduce a más de 100 acres de tierra arbolada que puede explorar.


Imagínese descansando en el porche cubierto o en la sala protegida con las vistas y los sonidos del río. Para los más aventureros, el Platte superior es un desafío emocionante para aquellos que eligen navegar en canoa, kayak o tubo en el río.


Desde aquí, se encuentra a poca distancia en automóvil de las muchas de las mejores experiencias de vacaciones que el noroeste de Michigan tiene para ofrecer. En 15 minutos puede estar en el Sleeping Bear Lakeshore, el Centro Interlochen para las Artes, Crystal Mountain o uno de los últimos recorridos en los teatros de Michigan. Love this place. Been coming up here every summer for 10 years now. The coho fishing was fantastic. Couldn’t be a more beautiful setting. Feels like coming home.

Platte River Getaway was just the breath of fresh air we were looking forward to. Comfortable, clean, peaceful! The setting is perfect with the river running through the property and yet close to all the sights and sounds of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. I would definitely recommend!

Summer getaway

Cute little house in an absolutely beautiful location on the Platte River. We enjoyed sitting on the porch listening to the birds and the river. The screened-in porch overlooking the river was lovely. Our only wish was that the mattresses were a little firmer.

Peaceful and relaxing

This property was very enjoyable to reunite our 7 adult family members! The beautiful and serene flowing river was well worth the float with our kayaks. The spacious yard for the dogs and people to play catch/frisbee, and the comfy seating on the covered porch were all utilized. Even with the warm July temperatures, the window air conditioning unit in the living room did the trick and kept most of the house cool. We slept well in the 4 separate spaces. The kitchen was well stocked. Great location for day trips to the beach and Sleeping Bear Dunes. There were a few house bugs, but we understand country living. And a bonus was viewing a nest of baby robins by the front door! Thanks for helping us make some fun summer memories!

Peaceful and Relaxing

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. The cottage itself was comfortable and homey. The clean beautiful river surrounds the property on three sides and provided a relaxing atmosphere. We waded in it every day while enjoying the beautiful sunshine we were blessed with. Sitting by the fire at night and listening to it babble was so soothing. Would love to stay here again.

Oasis!

Our stay for the week was amazing. The property is beautiful and secluded. I stayed with my mother who is in her seventies and cannot walk well. The ramp up to the door was an added bonus and allowed her to come in and out of the house with ease. The rooms were clean and had a homey cabin feel. The house is a hidden gem. We will be back!

Lovely River Location

We stayed here for three nights in August. The highlight of this property is the river on three sides, which makes it feel very secluded and peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the kayakers come by in the morning and their varying ability to navigate the bend. The pictures online are very representative of the property. Is it dated, yes, but you know that already. My only two complaints are that we had a lot of problems with bugs in the house at night. There are holes in multiple screen that should be repaired or replaced. There is one window air conditioning unit in the living room, but it was temperate enough that we wanted the windows open. My other complaint is that the kitchen could be more organized. It was stocked with mismatched random pots, pans, measuring cups, etc. We could not find a liquid measuring cup and the three dry measuring cups we found were all in different drawers. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the location worked well for what we wanted to do in the area.

Peaceful location

What a great spot for a vacation. The sound of the river was amazing. Enjoyed just sitting on the porch and listening. Candies at check in were a hit. Everything was in great condition and we will hopefully be back again.

Quiet and relaxing

We needed a place to kick back and relax and this house was perfect for that. The location was wonderful with the Platte River running on three sides. We were greeted with local wine and chocolate covered cherries on the table. The host was very prompt with his response to questions/comments from us. The place has dated decor, but that doesn’t matter when you go to sleep and wake up to the sounds of the river. Sleeping Bear Dunes, Point Bessie, and Leelanau Peninsula are all within an hour drive.

River front paradise

We’ve been coming to the same property for someone years now. My family can think of no better place to vacation. Love the look and sound of the river surrounding the property. Clean and peaceful. Lots to do in the surrounding areas no matter which direction you look. We will definitely be there next year if it is available.

Great location

We were very pleased with this property. It was a great place to sit on the river and just enjoy the outdoors. Everything we wanted to see and do was within 30 minutes. For those who have talked about needing updates, I would say that it's very much what I felt I paid for.
