Welcome to Ridge on the Chimney, a private coastal retreat near the Cabot Trail featuring four architect-designed luxury cottages set above the Atlantic coastline. Accommodating up to 16 guests, the property offers sweeping ocean views, four wood-fired hot tubs, and a private path to Chimney Corner Beach. Ideal for families and group retreats, this exclusive enclave blends modern comfort with quiet seclusion near Ingonish and Cape Breton Highlands National Park.
THE SPACE
Designed by renowned architects MacKay-Lyons Sweetapple, the four cottages—Spruce, Juniper, Cedar, and Birch combine traditional coastal architecture with refined modern detailing. The layout allows groups to stay together while enjoying the privacy of separate cottages, making it ideal for multi-family stays, celebrations, and retreats.
Spruce and Juniper (One-Bedroom Cottages):
• Single-Level Living: Ideal for couples or those preferring no stairs.
• Layout: Open-concept kitchen and living area with wood stove, 55” Samsung Frame TV, and motorized blinds.
• Accessibility: Juniper is fully accessible with ramps, wide doors, and a specialized spa bath.
• Sleeping: Each features a comfortable ground-floor master bedroom with a queen-sized bed.
Note: Guest living is entirely on the ground floor. The mechanical ladders are for storage access only.
Cedar & Birch (Two-Bedroom Cottages):
• Main Floor: Full kitchen, living room with wood stove, 50” Samsung Frame TV, motorized blinds, and a master bedroom with a king-sized bed.
• Second Floor: Second bedroom with a king-sized bed, twin-XL bunks, dedicated workspace, and private balcony.
• Basement: Washer/dryer combo unit, Beach Chairs/Umbrella/Toys, Giant Jenga, and Boot Dryer.
Outdoor Living:
Step outside to uninterrupted coastal scenery and fresh Atlantic air.
• Private Woodfired Hot Tub overlooking the ocean perfect for sunset soaks
• Spacious private deck with outdoor seating
• Private beach access via dedicated stairs leading to Chimney Corner Beach
• Outdoor Shower
• EV Charger: Available on site (fee applies)
• Shared Outdoor Kitchen: Large BBQ, Wood Fire Bowl, Propane Fire Bowl
Seasonal availability:
Beach stairs, outdoor shower, and gas BBQ are unavailable October 15 – May 15.
SURVEILLANCE
Security cameras are in public access areas and do not have views of private cottage areas.
GUEST ACCESS
Guests enjoy exclusive, private access to the entire cottage, deck, and hot tub. Self check-in available 24/7 via secure lockbox. Complete privacy throughout your stay.
ADDITIONAL RULES
• Rental Agreement: Must be signed within 72 hours of making the reservation or the booking may be subject to cancellation.
• Check-in/Out: Check-in is from 4 PM to 11 PM; check-out is before 10 AM to allow us to prepare for the next guests.
• Pet Policy: 1 dog welcome (fee applies). No cats or puppies under 12 months.
• Quiet Hours: 11 PM – 7 AM to ensure a serene guest experience.
• No-Smoking: Strict no-smoking policy (includes vaping/e-cigarettes) inside the cottage.
• Safety & Care: No climbing, pushing, or hanging from structures or cliff edges.
• Hot Tub: Must remain covered when not in use. Please place covers on and secure latches after every use.
