The Tiny Shack

With a little engineering and shabby-sheik ingenuity we turned our old office and storage space into Folly Beach’s cutest efficiency unit with all brand new construction, finishes, and décor. Think small and pretty. If you are an NFL lineman and your significant other is a WNBA star this is not the place for you. It is tiny, yes, but has everything you need for the perfect getaway. You have a full size bed to cuddle close and nap after a great beach day. Watch TV on the flat screen, or prep some snacks in the kitchenette. Your bistro table is more like a corner spot at a cozy Manhattan mini bar, and you can shower in luxury in the brand new tile bath with a modern sleek glass shower that feels more like The Ritz Carlton in Fiji than TheRathershacks on Folly. The main room measures 10ft x12ft- not including the 3ft x 5ft kitchenette, 5ft x 6ft bath, and 2ft x 4ft closet. Outside the front door you have your own dedicated covered patio so you can max relax, all under the watchful eyes of a mermaid and her dolphin friends. You have a small semi-private fenced back yard where there is a grill to channel your inner Bobby Flay or Rachel Ray, and an outdoor shower to wash off the sand and sea of the day. All of this is just a 45 second walk to the beach, and 5 minutes to all the bars and restaurants Folly Beach has to offer. Small is the new big at our latest shack. You will love it!!

Folly Beach vacation

A perfect place for the two of us. It was even better laid out than expected, had everything we needed, super clean and very cute. 2 minutes to the beach and a short walk to Center St. Highly recommend.

Perfect Stay in Folly

Tiny, but perfect is a perfect description. Terrific place very close to the beach and Berts. Communication with host was excellent. We look forward to our next stay at this wonderful "tiny" well appointed cottage.

The cutest little spot

I stayed here for a week and this was a great little spot. Brand new renovation, very clean, and beautiful private outdoor space. It was the perfect spot for a solo traveler. It is a very easy walk to the beach and only a couple blocks from the Center St hub.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here on our babymoon! Prime location for beach access, short walk to local joints, cozy and quiet. Comfy accommodations and well maintained. When we come back to Folly, we'll be right here again.

Perfect vacation

The listing was accurate. The place was lovely, walking distance to the beach (less than a minute) and to numerous restaurants (about 10 minutes). Off street parking for our car was wonderful. In short, five stars.

April at the Tiny Shack

We stayed in the Tiny Shack for a week in April and could not have loved it more. The Shack is located a short walk to anything in Folly Beach and only a 2 min. walk to the ocean. Although the Shack is small, it is not cramped since you can go out to the adjacent covered porch and enjoy the breeze and beautiful view. Everything is new and very clean as well as nicely decorated. We, very much ,would stay here again.

It is small but we loved it! Accurate description. Shower was wonderful, 10/10 water pressure (my pet peeve). Nice inside and out. The outdoor shower a very nice amenity. Very easy for beach access. Grocery items very close at Bert’s. Recommend.

I cannot express how awesome our stay was at the Tiny Shack. My husband and I enjoyed this little place so much. Close to the beach, walking distance to Center Street. I have never been to a place that was so clean, as soon as you opened the door you could smell the cleaniness. Katt was an awesome hostess. Always responded when we had a question. We look forward in hoping to stay again!!

We had a fantastic time in the tiny shack! It was perfect for our Anniversary stay at Folly. Well kept, CLEAN, very short easy walk to public beach access which was perfect and close to everything! Couldn’t have found a better place to stay on Folly. We will absolutely be back! Katherine was very receptive and quick to respond to any questions we had. Completely accommodating. You can’t go wrong with this place. 💞💞💞

Great stay at the Tiny Shack!

My wife and I had a fantastic trip to Folly Beach staying at the Tiny Shack to kick off our summer and celebrate our wedding anniversary. Tiny Shack was a brief walk to the beach, when carrying chairs and a cooler it felt seamless with the short distance. The room was extremely clean and up to date with a modern feel. The downtown area was also a quick walk to enjoy the local bars and restaurants. The hosts’ recommendations list is spot on, and I encourage any future quests to review it. Katt was very quick to respond to our communications and make it an easy process to check-in. It was a great experience, and we plan to stay here again in the future.

Fun in Folly

We came to Folly for a birthday weekend. The room was very clean. Katt definitely pays attention to detail. The name is accurate as well. It’s very small, but that was all we needed. Cool seating area with an outdoor shower. Too bad it was January. Great location. We walked everywhere we went. There was a street fair which was a nice surprise. Very enjoyable weekend. Thank you!

Perfect couple getaway!

This efficiency apt was exactly as described. It is small but is the perfect size for a couple. The bed was very comfortable with great pillows. Not like those flat pillows you find in most places. The bed was very slightly raised so that there was room to store our bags underneath. The towels were thick and so soft. The water pressure in the shower was really good too. Kitchenette area was just the right size with a larger dorm size refrigerator, microwave, keurig coffee maker, toaster and sink. Had we chosen to just hang out in Folley Beach, we could have parked our car and walked to everything we needed. General market, lots of restaurants and some beach stores close by. The beach itself is just a minute’s walk away. Great little beach town. The host was very easy to communicate with and responded immediately to my questions. I would highly recommend.

After we fixed her up... you now have the Rathershack in all its glory waiting for you to come and add the next chapter. We thank you in advance for helping us live our dream. We live on site so feel free to stop in for a cold one or advice on where to go hide out, or step out and kick up your dancin shoes. The sign over our door says PARTYville, but more often than not we flip it over so it reads NAPville. Sometimes one leads to the other. You know the drill........
