Rustic Cabin Get-a-Way

Dar un paso atrás en el tiempo en este auténtico 1860 rústicos Log Cabin. Esta cabina fue construida por un soldado que vuelve de la guerra civil y se sienta en el que se construyó en un hermoso campo de heno de 22 acres. Esbozado por una cerca de madera rústica y centrada entre dos cabezas de primavera. Varios árboles de nogal de edad y una enorme boj permanecen en la propiedad. Tiene las chimeneas de la roca original y de trabajo ubicados en la zona de estar y cocina. Decorado dentro y por fuera con antigüedades y objetos de luz de la luna locales. Perfect anniversary getaway

My wife and I chose this location for its seclusion and the history behind the location. It did not disappoint! The host was very attentive and looked out for us while we were there. It is a beautiful location tucked away in the hills of Virginia. We will definitely be returning!

Rustic and Quaint

I enjoyed our weekend at the cabin very much! The owner provided sweet added touches. Our dogs loved running in the yard. It was even better than I expected and I would go again!

Wonderful Get-a-Way Location

If you need to detox from the stresses of life, this is THE place. Strategically located out in the middle of God’s country, this cabin lives up to its billing. If you want a nice relaxing stay while soaking in a hot tub and internet surfing, this isn’t for you. If you need to get away and enjoy nature in a lovely place and bask in the stillness, peace and quiet of your surroundings as they did in the pioneer days, this is the ticket! The host is wonderful as well! We had one little issue and she was quick to make sure it was resolved to our satisfaction, and let me say, she went above and beyond to ensure we were happy! Kudos to Ms Pam and her beautiful little cabin on the farm!

Plenty of history

We really enjoyed our stay in this great cabin. Lots of antiques to go along with the character of the place. It was a much needed break from our daily lives to reconnect with our family. Pam was such a gracious host.

Historic Cabin in a nice setting.

This 1865 Cabin in a lovely setting made for an enjoyable stay. The fireplace in the main room and wood stove in the kitchen provided a cozy atmosphere and we enjoyed seeing the large collection of interesting items throughout the cabin. The grounds are well kept and it was fun to watch the cows and their calves in the nearby farm fields. Pam the hostess had fires lit and ready for our November arrival.

Nice away from everything get away.

Cabin was rustic but had everything you’d need. Took my dogs and they had the best time running around the fields around the house. Very peaceful.

Get off the grid and enjoy history

We felt the pictures didn't tell the complete story when we walked into this rustic, authentic cabin of yesteryear! Pam, our host, had candles lit, a fireplace and a firepit ready to light. Flashes of the Ingles (Little House on the Prairie) came to mind. Dont be fooled though, all modern amenities are inside and you won't miss a thing. This is the place to disconnect as wifi is spotty in the area, but thats what most of us need. There are no large grocery stores nearby but you'll find every necessity in not- to -distant local markets and a packed Dollar General. The breathtaking surroundings, state parks and trails, mountain towns and Blue Ridge Parkway are more than worth being "inconvenienced" a tad bit.

AMAZING! LOVED IT!

This little gem of a mountain cabin exceeded all of my expectations! It was exactly what I was looking for for some much needed R&R! The beautiful cabin seems straight out of a Little House on the Prairie episode. The pictures do not lie, as it is exactly what it looks like in person. Pam was an amazing host had everything set up to receive us with lit candles and country music left playing in the background. The cabin has that rustic feel and Pam’s attention to detail with the relics and decor takes a person right back in time to the simpler days. She definitely put some love into this little cabin. If you’re looking to getaway and completely unplug for a few days to relax and be present with nature and to clear one’s thoughts from the daily grind of work and responsibilities, this is it! Pam, Thank you so much for sharing this lovely gift with the rest of us! ;-) Angie Z.

The most relaxing few days I’ve ever had!

The cabin is beautiful. I read all of the “Little House” books growing up and I felt just like Laura Ingalls. Pam had a fire going in the fireplace and the wood stove when we arrived. She left us red roses and wine to celebrate Valentine’s weekend. Everything was perfect!

This is the perfect peaceful getaway. Rustic and historic, a beautiful cozy cabin.

We had a wonderful experience. Pam made sure the cabin was warm cozy and welcoming for our arrival. She was very nice and easy to communicate with. This cabin is a piece of heaven on earth and we hope to return!

Slice of heaven

The property was perfect and Pam was on the spot with everything you needed. It was a little remote as in a 30 minute drive to the nearest grocery store so take that into consideration. It was a wonderful place to take our dogs, they enjoyed it thoroughly.

Back in Time

Living nearby at the home place of my Grandmother Mamie Boothe, this little cabin was admired by me for many years. I have always respected and collected items from the past, the cabin was a great place to display my collections. My cabin became available for purchase in 2007 and I was fortunate enough to buy the old home. It has been a labor of love and now I would like to share it's charm with you. There are still many projects yet to be completed. So things will change from 1 year to the next. I am hoping my guests will enjoy staying so much that they will return year after year and enjoy my progress on the old home with me.

I have lived in the area, all of my life as well as many generations before me so I have a lot of love for the land. I love history and even as a child I collected what my mama called 'junk'. Some of that junk now decorates my gardens, porches and walls. I love it and I hope you will too!

This is not for everyone! If you want to escape from the fast past of life for a few days and step back into the past this is the place for you! (with some modern conveniences like running water, electric & antenna tv, Enjoy privacy, peace and quite, sitting on the porch swing with a book, or trying to count all the stars in the sky, maybe go fish in the pond or river nearby. Lots of old antiques fill the old cabin for many good talks of olds times had. You will not be disappointed! Just check out what others have said in our reviews!
