Cute & cozy duplex "DuWest", Hollands south side, Ping pong & renovated May 2024

Renovation complete May 2024. Duplex located 1/2 way between Holland and Saugatuck. Split level 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom duplex. New paint, new siding, bathroom has been refurbished, new carpet, new appliances, new mattresses, new hot water heater & air conditioner. Stocked kitchen and all linens and towels provided. Be one of the first to stay in this cozy west side. Frequent sitings of turkeys and deer in the back yard. Shared garage parking available.

1 gigabyte high speed internet. 55 inch Roku TV with Apple TV in main living room.

Ping pong table in large room in the lower floor.

This has been a labor of love. Six months of renovations completed May 2024. We live on the property next door. We have been blessed to offer you a great stay in this cozy unit.

Great house, super clean, everything we needed, lots of nice touches and plenty of room to spread out. I liked the location--out of town enough to be quiet, but close enough to not be inconvenient. Definitely will stay there again.

Great Stay

Great location close to Saugatuck. Owner let us pop our tent in the backyard so our daughter could “go camping.” Large backyard was great for catching lightning bugs.

This rental is clean and roomy! If you look out the back windows, you will see acres of nature -trees and wildflowers. If you look out the front windows, you will see beautiful farmland across the street. Hosts were available and responsive. We enjoyed our stay!

DuWest was the perfect place for us! Great location between Holland and Saugatuck. We loved the outdoor space! As others have said, the upstairs bedroom was warm but nothing we couldn’t handle. Everything was super clean and we had great communication. My favorite thing was the friendly corgi next door who paid us multiple visits.

Well cared for home!

Newly remodeled, well cared for duplex with nice outdoor spaces. Communication with owner was excellent and everything was very clean and well stocked!

Cozy and beautiful home

Eric and Renee’s rental is cozy, clean, and inviting for all guests. We had a great time here! They were both great at responding to any messages and communicated in advance before our trip for arrival details. The house was very clean and they provided cooking utensils, pots and pans as well. It was convenient to use washer and dryer for us! The only downside is that it gets a bit warm upstairs, but we had no issues with a fan running. This trip exceeded our expectations!

Lovely home

Very nice place. Only downside was the bedroom upstairs was very warm. Fortunately we did not need to use that room.

Thank you Carrie for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. Yes, the upper room does get warmer than the rest of the house based on the direction of the window and of course heat rising. We have provided fans for that very reason for our guests and recommend that the curtains remain closed during the warmest parts of the day so the A/C can keep it cooler. I work in Holland and have a long commute. This was a busy week with several meetings so I rented this home for the week and my wife came with me for an easy week away. The home was perfect for us and had everything we needed. We would definitely stay here again.

Great home base

Our week flew by with so many 4th of July activities! It was nice to have a comfortable home base to return to! Mornings were great, too! My son enjoyed the trails on the back of the back of the property, and it was nice to sit down to breakfast afterwards and plan our day. Overall, I would recommemd this to anyone who wants a laid-back semi-country setting that's an easy jaunt to Saugatuck, Hamilton, Grand Haven or dozens of beautiful parks.

Nice house in the country

The duplex was clean and nice. The kitchen was stocked with all the basics. The neighborhood was a quiet country setting. We weren't able to bring our bikes this trip, but there were bike paths nearby. The location is a quick drive into Saugatuck or Holland.

We found this rental for a last minute summer trip and are so grateful. It was clean, well cared for and easy to access. Even the landscaping was pristine! The owners were very good communicators and so kind, as were the neighbors. Our kids loved the ping pong table and the living space is definitely more generous than other places we’ve experienced. The location is a quick drive from downtown Holland, only minutes from Saugatuck and less than 30 minutes from South Haven and Deer Lick so we explored them all so easily and it made for a great family friendly trip! The only thing I could think of that could be an improvement is that ceiling fans would be a great addition to bedrooms- especially the upstairs bedroom.

Check in was simple with the door code messaged to us prior to arrival. The unit had nearly everything we needed. Lots of fluffy towels, bedding and even chairs for the beach. The only thing we wished it had that we needed was an icemaker or ice cube trays. We had to go out the second day and buy a bag of ice. Would have been great to have some when we arrived. The upstairs bedroom sleeps very hot, but they do provide a fan that helps somewhat. Other than during the summer months, that probably isn't an issue. The beds were comfy and we enjoyed watching fire flies off of the side deck. Overall, we appreciated the location between Holland and Saugatuck, or two favorite towns in the area, and we had a pleasant stay. We would do it again! Thank you!

Thank you for your comments Sherri. I will put ice cube trays on our list. Unfortunately the upper bedroom does get a bit on the warm side. We have adjusted what we can to try to lower the temperature without much success except to keep the curtains closed during the day and windows open at night. Generally this is only a problem for about a month in the heat of the summer. We hope your time was restful. Renee

Cozy a with a beautiful country scenery

This was our first time using VRBO and it was a wonderful experience from beginning to end! The house was super cozy and very clean. Couldn’t beat the scenery! My personal favorite was coffee on the deck in the morning! There’s a trail on the property that we loved to walk in the morning. So very peaceful! Everything was as expected and the location was perfect! This is a great place to stay at if you want to travel to different cities,very centrally located! Close to a lot of popular surrounding cities..literally everything was no more than 25mins away! We got the best of both worlds,country and beaches! Renee was so quick to respond and answer every question I had. She went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! Look no further,this is it!

We are a family from Holland who spent 6 years overseas doing water projects for a Christian mission agency. We enjoy playing outside, walks, beach, mini bikes, scooters and flying. We are highly involved with our community and mentor many people in marriage, life and business.

The neighborhood is just on the outside of Holland. Farms to the south and city to the north. Great neighbors, lots of space, wildlife and close to the city and beach. The duplex is situated on 6 acres and often has wildlife in the mornings and evenings.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

This unit is very cozy. It has a nice deck, plenty of area to walk and have children play outside with walking paths and the beach within a 5 min drive. Downstairs level is large and has a ping pong table.
