We had a great stay at Greg’s home! The house is beautifully renovated with many touches of charm still in tact. There was plenty of space for a group of friends and a baby. We loved the view from the kitchen and gathered there each morning.

My friends and I stayed here for a reunion trip and the house was amazing! It was very spacious and had plenty of room for a group of adults! The kitchen was incredible and was the best stocked kitchen in any rental any of us have ever stayed in. The location was great- super close to Chester Gap winery and Rappahannock! It was a very quiet neighborhood and the house had plenty of room for multiple vehicles to park. Greg was very responsive and helpful throughout the stay!

The house was spacious and family-friendly, making it a comfortable stay for our adult children and their kids. Having a Pack ‘N Play helped too! Our grandson especially loved the bunk bed room!

This property was the perfect size for our group of 8. The Kitchen was the best equipped of any vacation rental we have stayed.The outdoor fireplace and hot tub were outstanding additions to the comfort factor. Really like the massive TV and sound system.Would book again any time we might return to this location.

Beautiful Mountain House

The house is beautiful. It is nicely decorated, spacious, very clean and super comfortable. The kitchen is huge and well stocked. The mountain views are lovely. The location is peaceful and close to hiking trails. All in all, a great place for a getaway.

Exceptional!

This beautiful property is so perfectly appointed. My family stayed for a week in Front Royal at Shenandoah and could not have had a better spot. We hiked every day and made dinner every evening. We couldn’t get over how beautiful the kitchen was with such very nice quality dinnerware and everything we could possibly need. The house had comfortable spaces, bedrooms and lovely morning Mountain views. Greg was an excellent host.

Wonderful spring break

Our family stayed here for spring break and it was fantastic! The home was the perfect location between Front Royal and the Shenandoah National Park and had absolutely everything you could need. The house is exactly like the photos in the listing, a beautifully decorated, modern mountain retreat. Absolutely gorgeous inside with a fabulous view from the amazing gourmet kitchen. There was lots to do outside too with the spacious patio & fire pit, plus the hot tub area. The owner was very responsive with any questions or concerns. Our whole family said they would absolutely stay here again. I highly recommend this property!

Beautiful home near Shenandoah National Park

If you are looking for a quiet mountain home that has all the comforts of home, this place is for you. The interior is immaculate and beautifully decorated. It was nice to sink into the hot tub after long hikes in the National Park. Greg was accessible, knowledgeable, and helpful. Highly recommend this home for your stay in Front Royal.

Sweet 5 Star Mountain Retreat

Our group of friends enjoy annual trips to the mountains and this year did not disappoint! The property is even more beautiful in person than in the photos. The stunning views, the chic decor, the cozy warmth from the 2 fireplaces were just a couple of features we enjoyed. The kitchen is fully stocked for cooking any homemade meal. The bedrooms and bathrooms were inviting and perfectly fit our group of 4 couples. The host was very responsive to our questions and even recommended hot spots in the area for entertainment, food and drinks. The location of this home is central to many hiking trails, local wineries and breweries. We would love to vacation here again in the future!

Excellent Mountain Retreat

We stayed there for a high school friends reunion and truly enjoyed it. The panoramic mountain view from the kitchen is unbeatable. Hard to believe that you can have such a scenery only 1hr from DC. The house is spacious, modern, extremely well equipped, and clean. And the inside is masterfully decorated. Of course the hot tub under the trees! And the host was helpful and responsive. Overall highly recommended. One very minor issue: I wish there was a better or more visible help/instructions as to where certain things are, like we had a hard time finding grilling tools or how to control the temperature.

Cabin chic in Front Royal

What an absolute pleasure to find ourselves at this cabin! The quiet neighborhood and beautiful views were topped by the beautiful and thoroughly updated interior. The kitchen is spacious and the heart of the place with its table for all, gas stove for warmth, and windows across the whole counter. In every room will find tastefully curated touches from lights, art, furniture, to charging stations. So comfortable for our group of adults to find a place with King size beds in three rooms with two private room baths plus two other full bathrooms. The bathrooms are completely updated with lovely tile and shower stalls. There were so many amenities we didn't have time to use but we all unanimously vowed - had to come back !!

Awesome Mountain Escape

My recent stay at this mountain cabin was nothing short of exceptional. The cabin itself is beautifully furnished with high-end pieces, and the bed was super comfortable. The hot tub was the perfect place to unwind after a day of hiking, and the view from the deck was amazing. One of my favorite things about the cabin was grilling on the deck. There's nothing quite like cooking a delicious meal while enjoying the fresh mountain air and stunning scenery. There was plenty of parking which makes this cabin a great option for a group getaway. Throughout our stay, the host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, making our experience even more enjoyable. I can't wait to come back and create more amazing memories at this wonderful mountain escape!"

August 2024 Stay at Mountain Retreat

My group of friends stayed at this house and the most frequent thing we said was “wow.” There are certainly nice VRBO properties, but of them all, this was the most deliberate. Furnishings were quite nice and matched, there were three different tables to sit 8 people around, plenty of space for any sort of activity. Perhaps the hottest hot tub I’ve ever experienced. Close to any type of Front Royal activity. You are out in nature, but can get to the store and back in under 20 minutes. Recommended with no qualifications.

Beautiful Fall Weekend in the Front Royal

Beautiful house that is spacious for our group of 8 Seniors. Every couple able to have their own bedroom and bathroom made every thing more convenient. All the beds ( 3 Kings and a Queen) were very comfortable. The living room was great and the TV (80” screen) made watching the football games on Sunday outstanding. Great space in the kitchen area made it easy for all the cooks to work together. Outside with a front deck, back deck and stone patio with a hot tube and fire pit made enjoying the outside more pleasurable. With Skyline Drive and downtown Front Royal Hotel just minutes away along with many various wineries and breweries you could not ask for a better location. Great information from Greg, the owner, about restaurants and things to do was very valuable. Overall this was a Beautiful Weekend!

Simply Wonderful! We spent Thanksgiving with family arriving from 4 locations. Our group was 7 adults and a dog. Everyone enjoyed everything about the house. We made use of the hot tub. Very enjoyable. We made use of the the wood stove in the family room. We had two fire tenders in the group who eagerly kept the room cozy warm. Everyone loved having their own bathroom. The kitchen is a cook's dream. For Thanksgiving we had 5 cooks and plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was well prepared to handle large meals. There are baking dishes, nice cookware and utensils and storage dishes. There was even a turkey roasting pan and rack. There is plenty of plates and silverware. So many vacation homes provide one plate and one set of silverware for each guest. Not at the Modern Mountain Retreat. We were eating frequently and never ran out of plates and silverware in any one day. All appliances were in perfect working order.The eating area accommodated the entire group. It looks on to the kitchen and has a cozy gas powered heating stove. It also has regular central heating and probably AC as well, although we did not need AC.The home is located up a small mountain on a winding paved road. The view out the kitchen window is amazing. The host, Greg, was very responsive to my emails. He was also very accommodating when I inquired about a later checkout due to the icy weather that was predicted for the morning of our departure.Highly recommend.
