We enjoyed our family reunion immensely. Great location and absolutely beautiful. Owners were immediately available for a couple of questions…not issues at all. All 9 of the attendees are senior citizens and the fact that the 5 bedrooms are upstairs would have been good to know before hand. I could find nothing in the listing with this info. Definitely not a deal breaker for us but it could be for some. Otherwise a top notch rental.

Had a family group of ten, together for a wedding taking place at Oak Island Inn & Resort. We wanted more intimate accommodations, where we could all get together in the evenings, rather than renting a bunch of hotel rooms.The property itself is breath-taking and the house is so big, we kept getting lost trying to find our way back to the livingroom. House was spotless and well-appointed, including everything we needed for a quiet and comfortable stay. The property owners were also great to deal with and always responded in a timely manner. If you have a large group, and want to relax with the same comforts that you would have at home, I highly recommend this one!

The house was great and ideal for our extended family holiday. We enjoyed the spacious rooms and the sunny veranda with a lovely view of the bay. There were many places where we could all come for a dinner together or have quiet talks with just one or two family members. The property manager was easy to approach and accommodated our needs promptly and in a friendly manner. We would strongly recommend this place.

This property is fabulous! Our three-generation family enjoyed it immensely! It’s spacious, well-appointed with thoughtful décor and is fully stocked with amenities. Highlights included the social space, especially the sun room where we gathered as a family for meals and games. The bedrooms were spacious and gave us lots of options – and the beds were so comfortable. Having the main and carriage houses gave us so much flexibility. We loved the outdoor flagstone area between the buildings. The brick fireplace burned so well with the dried wood provided for our nightly fire gatherings and smores! Alan, the host, was so friendly and responsive. The Chester and South Shore areas have so much to offer in terms of eateries and experiences. Truly a top-notch experience, a wonderful place to adventure.

This was an amazing property. It was large enough to meet the needs of a group of grandparents, parents, and young children. We were provided a pack and play and a high chair. There was absolutely everything you could want in the kitchen from dishes to spices. With a large group, we tried to make some things prior to our stay, so it was wonderful to have two fridges and a drink fridge on the porch. Our son and daughter-in-law and 2 grandkids stayed in the carriage house and appreciated the privacy and quiet to be able to put the kids to bed. It was so convenient to have a kitchen at their disposal, there as well. The location was fantastic, so near everything we needed to access. Restaurants are so close as well as things like the wonderful Lido Pool in Chester. This is the third year that we have had a family reunion, and The Oaks was definitely the best place we have rented. Thanks to our hosts who answered any questions quickly. They were very helpful and understanding with anything we asked, especially things having to do with the children. We are looking forward to the next time that we can make The Oaks our home away from home!

Great Stay

Overall we had a great stay, beautiful home. All you needed in the home was provided for. Carriage house was beautiful as well. Our only issue was the hot tub didn't seem clean or have enough water in it. Overall visit was great though.

Fab Weekend at the Oaks

A beautiful heritage property with ample room for a girls weekend away. The bedrooms were comfortable and private. The kitchen was well-stocked and large. We would love to come back during the summer to enjoy thegardens and BBQ

Wonderful property, terrific stay

This is a gem of a property. We had 6 adults in our party and it was more than enough room. It is overlooking the beautiful bay and about 10 minutes from Chester. So many beautiful and thoughtful touches from the artwork, extra bedding, fully stocked kitchen, and the most comfortable beds with soft and lovely sheets. Alan is very responsive with all questions and check in was quick and easy. it’s nice as the actual houses, the carriage house just a few steps away above the garage is equally as quaint and impressive with amazing views. Despite it being very cold, we still sat out and enjoyed coffee just to absorb these views.. We are already planning on when we can rent this wonderful home again in warmer weather so we can truly appreciate and utilize all of it specialness. One small thing to note: while there is ample space to work out in the garage, the treadmill is quite dated, and perhaps the weights could be replenished with newer ones. That said, this is minor and does not take away from this property being one of the nicest ones at.we can’t wait to come back.!

Beautiful getaway

This place has so many lovely little corners that there is somewhere for everyone, even with a large group. Want to read a book on the verandah? Check. Play pool? Check. Have a full Thanksgiving sit-down dinner? Check. Do a puzzle in the sunroom? You get the idea. :) Communication was excellent and everything was well taken care of.

Family Reunion on South Shore

This is a beautiful and comfortable property with a great location. It has so many different areas in the house and guest house to gather. It was a perfect place for our two families to get together. The pool table was in constant use and the kitchen was also used alot as we did all our own cooking. The host was very responsive and helpful. Would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a great relaxing vacation.

Family retreat

This was a great opportunity as a family to hang out and enjoy summer fun and learn about new places. We had the best time and our hosts were fabulous. We are excited to go back and stay at Oak Seaside Retreat again. IT WAS THE BEST!
