Welcome to the newly remodeled Whitney Manor, located in Nauvoo, Illinois. Our newly remodeled lodging offers the perfect blend of comfort and convenience for your stay. The Manor is located on the main street of Mullholland. Here our lodging provides easy access to everything Nauvoo has to offer. You are within walkable distance between both downtown Nauvoo and the temple, as well as a one mile walk to historic Nauvoo and the famous Nauvoo pageants.

Convenient

The outside of the apartment really took me by surprise; it didn’t look well-maintained and I was really nervous about what I had just booked. Lots of spiders, webs, and bugs all around the front door when we first got there. Upon entering, the entire apartment was very clean (bathroom was immaculate!) and more modern, but the smell of mildew was very overwhelming. One of the top sheets had a very sour smell to it and we luckily found an extra sheet in the master closet for my child to use that smelled fine. The comforters don’t appear to have been washed recently and the master comforter smelled like vinegar. Some dishes/silverware were dirty on initially pulling them out of the cupboard, but they cleaned up easily. I didn’t realize that there were neighbors above as well as to the side and our above neighbors were pretty loud running back and forth and you could hear the vacuum running quite distinctly. Thankfully everyone quieted down at a decent hour for bed. Ants showed up towards the end of our stay. Overall, the location was very convenient and all our needs were met, but the smell of mildew every time I walked in wasn’t my favorite. Laundry can be done down the road. You are literally right across the street from the Dollar General and Casey’s so it was easy to grab random odds and ends. Wi-fi was fast and good. Appliances worked well (maybe add one more hot pad), house was cool with window AC units in each room. Towels were soft and good. Pillows and beds were good.

Clean, comfortable property in a convenient location

The location of this property afforded easy access to historic Nauvoo. We appreciated the easy check-in and check-out procedures, the convenient on-site parking and the great beds and linens. We prepared our meals there and found all the bakeware and tableware we needed. Above all, it was clean. We would stay there again!

Property was easy to locate, check into, and very clean. Had all the amenities needed. Conveniently located by the dollar general and walking distance to restaurants. Host was easy to communicate with and quick to respond! Would definitely recommend.

For Nauvoo, it's great

The hosts are great- quick to help and friendly. I chose this place for the location being on the main street in town. It's Nauvoo so it's not luxury. For example, we cooked ground beef using metal tongs because that was the only option but it worked. The beds are adequate. The interior is lovely. It did what we needed. Just don't expect extras and you'll love it.

Everything was as advertised. We walked to shops, dinner and ice cream. The temple is within walkable distance as well but may be just a bit far in dress clothes on a hot day. The place is clean and has everything we need and the best part is no clean up required! Thanks!

Easy as can be

Just what we needed for our stay in Nauvoo - it worked perfect for all we needed in cooking meals and having what we needed right there...except I have never stayed anywhere that did not provide a hair dryer - no hair dryer sounds dumb, until you can't dry your hair, and your have crazy hair in the humid summer air. It might be good just to throw one in there for those that fly with no checked bags.

Great choice.

Don’t let the exterior appearance fool you. It could use a coat of paint that you open the door and it was very clean and modern. It was a perfect location because It’s right on the Main Street Across from the Dollar General, which is the only place you can get a few groceries in the whole town. It had everything we needed, even a pair of scissors. We had problems with unlocking the door because we were either Idiots or the instructions should’ve added a step… An email to the host quickly resulted in a call back to help us out. We would stay there again if we ever go to Nauvoo again.
