We had a wonderful stay here, comfortable and well appointed with everything we needed for a fall weekend getaway — but the main event is really the spectacular view! It was such a treat to come back from a hike and still get to look out at the mountains and trees while relaxing, or to start the day with a cup of coffee and a sunrise. A really beautiful spot, and an added bonus to have walking trails on property too!

“2025 family vacation”Thank you for letting us stay in your home with awesome views. The house was clean, cozy, and in a perfect location to Lake Placid and numerous hiking trails. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck enjoying the views and looking up at the stars. We drove to the top of Whiteface mountain, hiked numerous trails including Hurricane mountain which you can see from the house and climbed the tower. We also spent a day in Lake Placid had lunch at the “cottage” and shopped. We look forward to a future stay.“Great Memories”Thanks again!!S.G.

Amazing property! Great location near lots of hikes, some nice towns nearby that are fun to explore, and of course that view is really why we chose to stay here. Wonderful waking up with coffee on the deck watching the sunrise or enjoying a cocktail while watching the sunset. The driveway is long and brings you deep in the woods, the place is nice and secluded. There are miles of private hiking trails on the property that we loved exploring. You will not regret booking this place.

In their VRBO review, one of the previous guests said that "The view was SPECTACULAR - the pictures don’t do it justice." This is SO true. It's hard to imagine it until you see it. My husband, teen daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. They both kept saying to me, "I know I already said this, but this house is amazing!" The house itself was well stocked, the beds were comfortable, and the hosts added special touches that made us feel at home. We enjoyed flipping through the books in the house, playing games and working on puzzles in the large sitting room, relaxing on the porch sipping coffee in the morning, and working to identify the many mountains you could see from the porch. We all loved the look, feel and smell of the place. The private hiking trails were also amazing (we saw a mama bear and her cub, a young buck, and a hawk!), and we were so close to the High Peaks and many other mountains and trails for lots of hiking. The towns of Keene and Keene Valley also offer many great restaurants and shopping options, and Lake Placid is just a short drive if you want more of a touristy feel. Can't wait to come back and sit on the porch with more coffee and pie from the Noon Mark Diner! [A few more notes: the communication with the hosts was spot on. The house included a really helpful manual with lots of information. The kitchen has everything you need to cook any meal. Wi-Fi access was perfect.]

Solitude with a View

Great home, well equipped, cozy fireplace, and simply stunning view! It's located on a unique and enjoyable property that even includes private hiking trails. Just excellent.

Porcupine ridge

Nice 70s style home with beautiful views from inside the house, as well as the deck and porch. Fully stocked with enough kitchen equipment to cook what ever you'd want. Cozy fire place to watch the sun set to top it off.

Perfect Adirondack Getaway

Trails on this property are great and well marked. Cabin was perfect for my family of 4 plus my mom who came to help with our 14 year old with autism. My 17 year old yuppie daughter loved shopping in Lake Placid and we really enjoyed the hiking and Olympic museum. It’s a perfect base camp for the many day hikes within a 20 minute drive. Zero regrets on this one and we will definitely consider coming back.

Can’t wait to go back

Great location! The hikers in our group appreciated the proximity to public and private trails, and the non-hikers enjoyed their ADK experience from the deck. The hosts hit the sweet spot of the right amount of supplies and furnishings so that we had everything we needed but still had room to unpack. Communication was great, and check-in/out was easy.

Welcomed with helpful messages from our host, and pulled into a better than advertised home. Beautiful inside and out. The home was warm, welcoming, clean and stunning.
