Hellgate Island scallop house, boat access only

Visit Hellgate Island Scallop House, a unique waterfront property only reachable by boat. Experience luxury living on your own private island. Immerse yourself in serene surroundings and tranquility. Just 15 minutes to the many boat ramps and 15 minutes to the gulf.
Fish right off the dock for snook, redfish or the occasional tarpon.
Porpoise, manatee & river otters are a common visitor. There is a large deck / dock for grilling and entertainment or just unwind in the large hammock.
We have two docks one on the front of the house directly on the Homosassa River and the back dock on the protected back lagoon. A well behaved dog is allowed with an additional $50.00 fee. Dogs are not allowed on the furniture or beds and cannot be left alone in the house unless crated.

This was a nice little home to escape off the grid for a few days. Plenty of dock space for fishing. Home was clean & host was very welcoming & quick to respond to any questions we had.

Great Stay

Great secluded spot scallopers!

We came in for a quick 2 night scallop stay with the family and we caught our limit within a few hours opening morning! Private getaway with boat access only-boat parking in cove was clutch. Loved the fire pit, hammock and peaceful river vibes- scallop season 2025 does not disappoint! Thank you for these precious family memories---we won't forget this trip!

LOVED IT! It’s like being in a tropical cabin. We called it a “staycation” because we were not too far from home (1.5 hours), but being out there felt like another world. Scallop House

This was the cutest little getaway from home—the perfect location for scalloping or heading to the springs. The host left ice cream, fresh fruit, and water for us. We loved that they had dog bowls to make our pups feel included. We can't wait to come back.

Absolutely Amazing

My husband and I were thrilled to be the first guest to the Scallop House. What a beautiful comfortable place. The owners Bill and Bobbie did a fantastic job with the renovations. It was truly like coming home every afternoon after being on the boat all day. There are 2 docks, the front one homed our 33’ Palmetto and the back one homed the 18’ Carolina Skiff with no problems. There is a back deck that was perfect for hanging out in the hammock, a table and chairs under a nice shade, a fire pit with more chairs and a grill which made it perfect for cooking and hanging out with our friends. There is a perfect little front yard for the pets, which was perfect that we were able to bring the fur baby. The owners left us a great fresh fruit bowl, ice cream in the freezer and bottles of water, they were absolutely amazing to deal with and very accommodating. We will definitely be back and 100% recommend. Thank you so much we will never forget our time there.

Your host Bill & Bobbi have lived in the area for over 20 years, originally from south east Florida we escaped the city to raise our son in a more peaceful environment. This is the very definition of God’s country.

Wanting to be directly on the river we choose Island living for the beauty and serenity. Only 15 minutes to the boat ramp it feels like a million miles from the hustle and bustle of the city on this boat access only island house.

Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial

Being a boat access only property makes us unique in the fact that our guests are boaters like us.
The Homosassa offers word class inshore and awesome offshore fishing. Not to mention scallop season. We share some of the best scallop grounds with Crystal River right off our inlet. Snorkeling for scallops is like an Easter egg hunt on the water. They can usually be found in water as shallow as 3-4 feet.
There is also many restaurants easily accessible by boat on the Homosassa River, Crumps, Mcrays, the Freezer and more.
