A Caribbean Alternative townhome in Truman Annex

A Caribbean Alternative is a wonderful vacation townhome located in the desirable Truman Annex area of downtown Key West.  This townhome provides convenient access to all the exciting activities and world-class eateries and bars offered in downtown Key West. We encourage you to leave your car at home and enjoy walking, biking, or scootering to almost anywhere you want to go.

This lovely 2 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath townhome is nicely appointed with stainless steel appliances, a washer and dryer, and a covered outdoor seating area. The living area has homey seating with a flat screen television and Bose sound system. The French doors open up onto the covered deck and cleanly landscaped yard. 

Upstairs are two bedrooms, both with ensuite bathrooms, queen beds, and ample closet space. Both bedrooms open to a covered porch with relaxed seating options. A washer and dryer are located in the hallway between the 2 bedrooms for your convenience. 

The Truman Annex Waterfront Park is close by with walking paths, open areas to play or relax, and a splash pad and park for the kids to play. Fort Zachary Taylor State Park and Beach are also close by and offer picnic areas with grills, as well as beach areas that are ideal for snorkeling and sunbathing. There are chairs and umbrellas for rent as well as a full concession stand and restrooms.

Enjoy the quaintness of this peaceful neighborhood on your next visit to Key West and be close to all there is to do on our beautiful island.

This is a weekly rental.  

Only one parking space is provided for this unit -parking can be difficult - no trucks/campers or oversized vehicles.

Ideal

The Caribbean Alternative was ideal from the rental staff (checkin and checkout) to the location (walked everywhere or short uber) and the property was clean, spacious and safe. Well worth the price. Top of the line.

Fabulous Mini Vacation Getaway

This was a beautiful townhouse with all the amenities you will need. Location was perfect we waked everywhere. It’s close to DuVal and Malory Square. You won’t regret stay here. We will certainly stay here again.

Love location

We love staying in Truman Annex. You can walk to everything and can rent bikes to ride to watch the sunset at the beach. I will be going back.

Perfect location! Great comfy home!

Fabulous location - we walked everywhere no problem. Nice and quiet but not too remote. Highly recommend! Note: don’t buy grill food, photos show grill but there wasn’t one.

Awesome location, great place!

This townhouse is located close to everything you could need and want in Key West! It’s very clean, nicely furnished, and well-appointed. Beds are comfy. Keyless entry would be a plus, but despite having to go to the rental office, the process was quick and easy. Highly recommend!

Close to Duval

Generally nice unit in safe neighborhood. Units are close together. Very close to Duval. Be sure to get specific directions on where unit and parking spot are located they were hard to find with only “put it in gps” as direction. It’s not visible from the street.

Not as Advertised

One of the reasons we chose the unit was because it had shown a BBQ in one of the pictures online. It didn't have one!! The "On Suite Bathroom" was a joke! it really should have been advertised as a 1 1/2 bath. Also, the showers were so small you couldn't turn around in them and I'm a small petite person. We would not rent this unit again.

Nice first floor

The first floor of this townhouse is spacious and comfortable and well represented in the photos. The upstairs bedrooms are very small. The twin bedroom is as shown in the photos. The queen bedroom is not as represented. Structural modifications have been made and it is much smaller than shown. The bathroom is tiny and does not have a door but rather a bifold closet type screen and an undersized toilet. The worst feature of both bathrooms is the showers which are literally 25“ by 26”, way too small for even the smallest of the adults in our group.

Key West Adventure

This was our first visit to Key West and our stay at The Caribbean Alternative was awesome. The condo itself is extremely nice with access to a very relaxing community pool as well. The location in the Truman Annex was perfect for walking to everywhere in the Old Town from the sunset celebration at Mallory Square to Ernest Hemingway House and the Lighthouse. Easy walks to a number of great restaurants as well. And the informational summary of restaurants, events, places to visit, water sports, etc etc was very helpful. Overall tremendous experience and we'll be back.
