Welcome to The Lakehouse at The Holly Cabins! This Waterfront house is located on the Fulton Chain of Lakes channel half a mile from downtown Old Forge. This property offers a private dock where you can dock your boat or go fishing, a swimming area with a shallow beach, a firepit located near the lake, and a lean-to overlooking the lake.

The house has a large deck facing the water with a picnic table and gas BBQ grill. The main floor has 2 living rooms, kitchen and dining rooms all with views of the lake, and a laundry area. There are two bedrooms on this level-Bedroom #1 with one Queen bed, Bedroom #2 with one Queen bed. There are two full baths on this level - one has a walk-in shower, the other has a tub and walk-in shower.
The finished basement level has two Bedrooms and a full Bath with walk-in shower and additional laundry area. Bedroom #3 with one Queen bed. Bedroom #4 with one Queen bed and one Twin bed. There is plenty of parking.
Note: For larger groups (reunions, weddings and larger family and friends’ gatherings), The Lakehouse may be rented together with the 3 neighboring properties: Larch Lakehouse, Evergreen Lodge, and Tamarack Cottage - all 4 properties are part of The Holly Cabins. No Sheets or Towels are provided.

Fantastic location on the water and walking distance into Old Forge. Great shopping, lunch and coffee. Kids playground, golf course near by. We had 6 adults and a 18 mo old and were comfortable. Spacious house w 2 bedrooms upstairs and the 2 in the basement were nice but cold as the temp dropped (which my family enjoyed). Beautiful large deck, ducks and a family of deer visited often. Please note while its advertised w bring your boat, the only boat launch is in Inlet NY 15 min away and then have to drive the boat an hour to the dock. We would stay again!

Place needs upgrades! Basement bedrooms very musty window handles broken! Waterfront is the only reason to rent this place period!

Great cabin!

This was a great cabin and in a very nice, secluded location. Being right on the lake and having our own dock made the stay so nice! We always had access to do water activities which was very convenient. The house was very clean and very comfortable. We will definitely be back!

We rented the house for a week. It was a great location and it was “home base” for the other family members staying in Thendara.The deck, dock and fire pit were great. The grounds were messy though. Lots and lots of goose poop by fire pit and dock. Had to clean it up before we could really use the are.The lean too was messy with cardboard thrown in there. Extra materials were also laying around, so we didn’t use it. Plus it was hard to get too with the tree roots.The house layout was good and had plenty of space. The dishwasher didn’t latch shut so couldn’t use it. There was also old food in the bottom of it. The last step going down from the deck was broken so we all had to be very careful using it. Challenging for my 86 year old mother. No pathway lighting and only one light work by the back door.We needed a new gas tank and when I called they sent someone as soon as possible and he also cleaned the grates. That was very nice.Make sure to bring fans. Most of the windows do not open up and the fans there are broken. The house was very hot when it was warm outside.The closets were on the messy side. There also was no information on garbage pick up, recycling and general house information. This was the first time we had been to the Adirondack area and Old Forge. A little information would have been helpful.With all of the negative issues we still had a wonderful week. The channel was great to be on. Very peaceful in the morning and at night.

Great Waterfront Location

We rented the Lakehouse and it worked really well for our family(2 grandparents, 3 grandchildren ages 4,7 and 9, and their parents). We all enjoyed the dock and waterfront for fishing, swimming, hanging out, and bonfires. We were able to dock our canoe and also launch kayaks from a small sandy spot. It is an older house with a rustic feel. All 3 bathrooms were really nice and updated, and the beds and pillows were super comfortable and clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and the gas grill was new. We loved having the leanto and the storage bin for firewood, life jackets, paddles, etc. The back hall was perfect for shoes and hanging coats The lower level bedrooms were nice and roomy, but it is a basement and you had to empty the dehumidifier most days. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the kids had a blast! It was quiet, yet very convenient to Old Forge. We would definitely rent this house again!
