Casa Maderas is a Costalegre Old-Mexico Rancho Style enclave with tropical gardens several varieties of palms, hibiscus, bougainvillea, pineapples, bananas, blooming plumerias in Summer, a Northrop pine, and a trickling stately fountain. * It is a fully-walled private property providing secure drive-in entry and on-site parking for 2 vehicles within a short walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and shops near the town square. Casa Maderas is on the quiet end of Barra de Navidad ensuring that you will not need noise cancelling headphones during holidays. If you come during the holidays, enjoy the festivities in town and retreat to peace and quiet. * The Casa's free-standing Great Room allows families and friends to converge at a 6-seater long bar, enjoy dining for 8+, cook in a kitchen made for multiple chefs, or to simply relax and enjoy board games or watch the flat screen TV. The kitchen provides the necessities: a cast iron stove top, coffee maker, microwave, large toaster oven, and gas BBQ grill right outside the door. Two wings on either side of the Great Room contain 3 spacious suites named after local trees: Tabachin, Rosa Morada and Primavera. The rooms have large glass windows and doors that open onto a covered veranda sporting hammocks, a hop, skip and a jump across the lawn to an unenclosed swimming pool (5 feet deep) heated by the sun and palapa with bar for sipping refreshing bebidas. * Casa Maderas is the perfect place for sharing time with families and friends, whether it be for vacations or very small destination weddings, anniversaries, family reunions or birthdays. * The marvelous Mrs. Guadalupe Casillas Sanchez (aka "Lupita") is on-site during the week to maintain the Casa, assist with questions, and clothes laundry services. While Lupita is primarily a Spanish-speaker, she has years of interpreting Gringo Spanglish under her belt and is well-versed in Google Translate. * If you venture out beyond Casa Maderas' walls, you can explore the humble fishing village of Barra de Navidad (Sandbar of Christmas); hire a fishing boat; take a ponga to one of the restaurants across the lagoon near Colimilla; walk the Malecon; golf at Isla Navidad Golf Course; or visit the neighboring beach towns of Melaque, Cuastecomates, La Manazanilla, Boca de Iquanas or last but certainly not least, Tenacatita. * Casa Maderas is a family home originally built out of the jungle in the late 1990's and thereafter settled by the Parks Family's amazing matriarch, Ruette Parks. The Northrop Pine in the garden was planted in her memory. The Parks Family continues to enjoy the Property whenever they can and provides Pro Animal Melaque with the space for periodic fostering of newborn kittens and puppies. The reason guests are not allowed to bring their pets is because two cats (Buddy & Flaco) and one dog (Poppy) live on the Property full time in their forever home. Best to keep bedroom doors shut if you do not want any of them sleeping with you.
