During football season, catch all the action with the complimentary NFL Ticket, or head to our dedicated game room and theater room for endless indoor entertainment. When you're ready to get outside, you're just a short walk from Lake Whatcom, minutes from scenic hiking and biking trails, and a quick 15-minute drive to the heart of Bellingham. We're also just 40 minutes from the Canadian border for a day trip.
Whether you're looking to relax or explore, you'll get the best of both worlds.

We were celebrating my son’s graduation from WWU. We had 9 people staying over and an additional 3 people hanging out, plus a shih tsu small dog. The house was spacious, comfortable and clean. The view of the lake was gorgeous. The house felt plush. The kitchen has double full-size ovens, and I easily was able to prepare a full dinner and brunch for 12. I came ready with two 13x9 casserole dishes, but there was also one provided…and I ended up using all three! The cabinet had many spices. We enjoyed the game room, especially the air hockey and dart board. Found a new game from Melissa & Doug called Suspend that was enjoyed. We had also prepared a graduation slide show that we were able to project onto the big screen in the movie room by signing into our YouTube account. We ended up using the available air mattress and found it comfortable. The pull out couch in game room was also comfortable. Overall it was a very nice, special-occasion house.

The house was in a great location for hiking and enjoying the lake. It was clean and well appointed. I appreciate that there were plenty of dishes, glassware, and cooking items available. The game room and theater were amazing. We had a great time sitting on the deck and enjoying the view for "happy hour"!

Hands down, most practical, friendly and relaxing place we have experienced in 10 years! This house is very well organized and comes with so much internal entertainment including an incredible games room and movie room for when it rains. Thank you so much making our vacation wonderful!

Our family (5 adults and 2 toddlers, aged 2) stayed at this beautiful lake house for 4 days. It was truly a wonderful experience. It was a short walking distance to the lake. The house is clean and filled with light. The kitchen, equipped with all the appliances you would need, made cooking a breeze. I even found a peeler to peel carrots, a small detail that made a big difference. My son, daughter, and their spouses had a blast in the game room and theater room. It was not just a room, but a space where they bonded and had fun together.We are deeply grateful to the hosts for sharing this magical place with us. Their hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable. We highly recommend it and can't wait to return next year!

Sudden Valley Lake Retreat

home for all ages to enjoy

There were things for ages from toddlers to older adults to do. From the toys and activities in the bunk room to the game room and theater room we really enjoyed the property. The kitchen and baths were well equipped with thoughtful accessories. There were many stairs in this home so I would not recommend it for the disabled.

Terrific home base

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this comfortable and well equipped home located outside of Bellingham. The lake view was wonderful, the drive from town was easy and access to gorgeous outdoor activities first rate. Host promptly communicated and helpful.

Amazing stay!

We stayed here for the weekend and the house is amazing! The host was very mindful when setting everything up and it flows perfectly. The furniture is super comfortable and the house is super clean, which from our experience is hard to find when renting houses. The host was amazing at communicating with us. We will be back for sure!

Congregate or Separate...Your Choice

Perfect house for a family gathering. Extremely well thought out with plenty of space for everybody. Comfortable beds and furnishing to go along with a game room and movie theater gave everybody something to. Kitchen was the best appointed and stocked I've ever experienced in a vacation rental. Quiet neighborhood, beautiful view, spotlessly clean and responsive hosts made for a prefect stay. It was a hit with everybody!

Visiting friends in Bellingham

We spent a long weekend visiting friends in Bellingham. We stayed in this beautiful house with plenty of room for the six of us with a gorgeous lake view. We loved the game room and movie room. Very nicely decorated and well supplied kitchen. Easy communication with the property manager. Highly recommend

Absolutely lovely well appointed home!

We stayed here for our babymoon, we brought our toddler with us and she enjoyed all the toys provided! We appreciated being able to bring our older dog with us. The kitchen was super to cook in and we made many meals while overlooking the lake views! Would highly recommend. The host was kind and helpful!

Perfect-Relaxing and Fun

Our son and daughter in law live in Bellingham. This recent trip was to unite all of our kids together to meet our new granddaughter. The home was perfect for us to gather to take the burden off our son and DIL. We enjoyed every room in the house; gameroom, theatre room, kitchen, dining, etc. Being a home cook, I was relieved and excited at the amenties in the kitchen. This home was the perfect setting for peace, rest, fun, unity and family memories. Our host, Chezka, was very kind and timely in communication starting with our inquiry before we booked. I enjoyed using the spalike bathroom for a bubble bath almost every night!

Excellent Property in Sudden Valley

The house is very well located, about a 5 minute walk from the lake. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms and comfy beds, rec room and movie theatre. Communication with property manager was easy and fast. My family had a great time and it was a home away from home. We will definitely come back.

Fantastic Stay In A Beautiful Home

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. The neighborhood, the view of the lake and the deer roaming the area were so peaceful. There were four adults and a very entertained 8 year old in our party and we all had fun in the game and media room. The house is spotless and located close enough to town if you need anything. Wish we had more time hanging out at the house. Host was very responsive and answered all questions we had prior to arrival. We will stay here again when back in the area.

A great weekend in Sudden Valley!

We had to be in Bellingham for a wedding and needed a quiet place to stay. We chose this house and wasn't disappointed. The house was very clean and well appointed. The property manager was so responsive and accommodating. We had a wonderful time and will be back. I highly recommend!

Great Stay

This home was very comfortable for 8 people and an infant. 3 bedrooms, could be considered 5 bedrooms if you consider the pull out couch in the movie room and separate recreation room. Beds were comfortable, good quality furnishings in good condition. Anytime we messaged the host during our stay, we received almost immediate answer which is so helpful. BBQ worked great, kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans and many dishes that were more than what we needed. We would definately stay here again in the future.

We have been visiting Sudden valley for years. We enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and the lake with the relaxed atmosphere and the ability to go to the city when needed attracted us here.
