We enjoyed our stay . It was an older home, but it served our purpose well. It was clean, comfortable, and met our needs. Location was good. Close to Ames, Iowa for the football game. We would definitely request this property again.

What we needed for one night as we were passing through with kids and pets. Sad the bakery wasn’t open across the street (Monday), looked good!

The check in was smooth and easy and the PO was so easy to work with. House was equipped for all our needs. A/C worked very well and super fast internet.

Short Stay

Cute house that accommodated our needs after having spinal surgery. Would recommend a stay there to anyone!

Collins stay

Good place to stay! Got my daughter from Ames and enjoyed a nice visit with her. House had everything we needed, and we loved the bakery/bistro across the street for breakfast. Visited the Farmers Market, Botanical Gardens, and outlet stores in Des Moines.

A Place to Stay

We spent very little time at the house as we were in town to visit family who lived nearby. There was an extra heater in our bedroom in case it was needed. There was also a sound machine to help mask any noise from the nearby two-lane highway. We didn't hear much truck noise at all like another reviewer mentioned, and were were there on a Saturday night. The kitchen appeared to have up-to-date appliances and the bathroom has several shelves for placing items given that the pedestal sink didn't have much space at all for toiletries. I'd caution against those who have mobility issues staying here as the floor is uneven in spots. There was room for our dog to roam at bit in the yard, but I'd strongly encourage keeping any dogs on leash given the nearby road.

Not the greatest

It lists that it will sleep 5. There is no way. My husband thought it was listed as 2 queen beds, but when I looked back at the listing, it is listed as 2 double beds. There is only a loveseat and another chair in the living room. Definitely does not sleep 5. It is also listed that there is a playground. Never saw one. Refrigerator went out and had to throw out all of our food. Was never offered any type of compensation. Truck and trailers passing through all hours of the night. Air conditioning is loud. Bathtub was clean, I think. But it was stained and looked bad.

Thanks for the feedback. We do offer a cot for additional guest that need another sleeping spot. We just don't keep on site. I will work on making that a little more clear. I will double check on the playground as this may have been listed as there is a playground within walking distance of the home. I appologize about the fridge going out. I did not know you had any food in there and we did get the fridge fixed immediately while I was on the phone with you. I will be having an electrician come out and check on the air conditioning and the outlets in the kitchen. For the bathtub I tried to keep some original items in the home to keep some of the ambience. It is original tub to the house and has shown some wear and tear but is still very functional. I may be checking into bath fitters to see if that can be changed or replaced. I am sorry for your disappointment and wish you the best. Robin
