There are few, if any, Betsie River settings that offer the intimacy this setting does. Imagine having your morning coffee on the deck just feet from the running waters while you think about your upcoming day.

A quick walk down the path brings you to the edge of the river. This secluded spot on the edge of the property offers step-in access to enjoy the many activities available on the river.

This setting is located just over a mile from Crystal Mountain and its amenities. In addition to the usual amenities, you will find a NEMA 14-50 plug in the garage so if you have your own charge cord you will have the ability to charge (for free) your electric vehicle. Additionally there are many destinations, including Frankfort and Interlochen within a 20-30 minute drive.

The cabin was comfortable and pretty clean. The location on the river was super peaceful to sit and enjoy. This made a great base camp for the TAC at Crystal.

Great Relaxing Place in the River

Loved staying here and how comfortable the home was and how nice it was to have the river right in your backyard view. Will stay here again.

Beautiful setting and peaceful escape

We loved our stay at Tom’s place! Communication was easy and the check in/out process was easy. Tom’s place sits right off the Betsie river— this was our favorite part of our stay. We fit 5 people comfortably, the place was clean and had everything we could need. Thanks for having us!June

Charming is the perfect word. Sitting on the back patio listening to the river was the best, and was made even better when a bald eagle landed across the water to hang out for a bit. The Kalamazoo Stove Company fireplace insert was also an incredible bit of history to experience. Would book again and have already told family members about it!

Close proximity to Crystal Mountain

Our trip was planned for skiing. This is a convenient location not far (1.5mi) from the resort. We didn’t spend a lot of time at the house as we were there to ski but the beds were comfortable, linens were well stocked & the coffee bar was a nice touch.

Picturesque

Beautiful property! Owner was extremely responsive and helpful. Very kind and helpful for us to unplug from the world and have a relaxing weekend away in the middle of the woods. The river running through the property is absolutely amazing!

Bestie Birthday Trip

This place is a nice rustic gem. It was clean and provided everything we needed for a great stay.My bestie and I stayed for a combined birthdays weekend celebration. We had an Awesome day sitting and sunning right next to the river.We will definitely consider this place again for our next birthday staycatoin. Tom was a very accommodating and responsive host. He let me check in early to set-up a little special surprise for my friend before she arrived. Thanks for the memories;)

Awesome view and location!

Home is located in a quiet subdivision right on the Betsie River and just 5 minutes from Crystal Mountain. We saw deer, ducks and an eagle from the dining room. There was plenty of sleeping accommodations, and seperate spaces for kids and adults to hang out. The kitchen was well stocked with appliances and utensils and silverware, there was soap, shampoo, tp and enough towels in the bathrooms.

Family stay

Came to thomsonville cottage as a family trip. First night was amazing with watching shooting stars from back deck. Was nice to have everything we needed for trip washing maching, toaster and very roomy. We had 4 kids ages 2 to 15. Two dogs and 3 adults. This place was amazing. Better than hotel life!! Last night kids waded in the river and accidentally stepped on a snappin turtle. Noone was harmed though. Just a great experience. Thankyou tom for the stay. We always pick wildflowers for our stay. Here a pic of our bouquet.

New years get together

Our stay at this lovely riverside home was wonderful!We were impressed with access to an empty garage for parking as it was January in Northern Lower Michigan. The home more than met our needs. It was my husband and I and our adult daughter. Having 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and two family rooms was so nice! The setting beside the river was beautiful! The home manager was very responsive and helpful. The location close to Crystal Mountain was so convenient for the skiers too. We’re hoping to return soon.

Fun stay

The host was fantastic with communication. We really enjoyed our time. Part of the house was really great and I could tell they are working to update it. The pillows, sheets, towels all were nice and comfy and looked new. The first part of the house, when you enter, could still use some work but worked for us. don’t recommend using that shower/bath until it’s fixed up. The shower and toilet are bouncy on the old floor with a hole in the wall at the base outdoor the shower door. We mostly stayed away from that bathroom. We enjoyed our time and watching all the fish in the water. Thanks again.
