La cabaña se encuentra a solo 2 horas al oeste de Washington DC, enclavada en las pintorescas montañas de Hardy County West Virgina. Ven a disfrutar de un relajante fin de semana o una escapada semanal. Para los amantes de la naturaleza, pase sus días con las muchas aventuras al aire libre cerca o relájese, disfrute y disfrute de las vistas y los sonidos de Trout Run, a solo unos pasos del porche y la cubierta.

La chimenea de piedra con estufa de leña es la característica principal en la cocina / sala familiar. Dos habitaciones se encuentran fuera del área de la sala familiar. El dormitorio principal tiene cama doble, TV y baño completo. El segundo dormitorio ofrece una cama doble.
La cocina está bien equipada con estufa, refrigerador, lavavajillas, microondas, cafetera, ollas y sartenes, platos, cristalería y provisiones básicas como condimentos, azúcar, aceite de cocina, etc. La casa también cuenta con una sala de lavandería completa con lavadora y secadora y una segunda sala de estar con altillo.

This is a very clean and comfortable cabin in a quiet and safe area. It has all the amenities we needed, from games to kayaks to ceramic cookware. The host was very kind, easy to reach, and accommodating. We especially enjoyed the screened-in porch and the fire pit, for which the host supplied wood. This is a great place to get away and unplug for a few days.

There were 4 “senior” women who rented the cabin for our annual get together. We were all extremely pleased with the cleanliness. It is a super cute place with all kinds of antique items throughout. The cabin was very well stocked and we only needed to bring our food and beverages. There is plenty of firewood for the fire ring. It was so peaceful sitting around it and reliving memories. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch. It was perfect! We all agreed it was so relaxing and loved the serene setting with the sound of the creek and nature. I’m so glad I found this cabin and would love to go back again.

This was indeed a wonderful experience; this was my husband's 68 birthday so picking this cabin was special to us, it was everything pictured and more it felt like we were back in time. This cabin is precious with all of its artifacts, it's a gem. The water rolling on the rocks listening was so soothing. I would like to thank the host Gayle for all of her advice and messages if we needed anything. I hope to return in the future

Family Friendly Exquisite Cabin

This property was everything it said it was, and so much more! Everyone in my Family enjoyed themselves and though intimate, there is plenty of private space to relax and have a quiet moment. We were very impressed with the property and quietness of this place. Sounds of birds and the brook are the backdrop. It had everything we needed, screened in porch was one of our favorite spots to hang out. Gayle was always quick to respond with any questions. We hope to return next year.

Host is quick to answer questions. Property is overall clean, however there is water damage here and there inside. The property overall is showing its age. However, if you came to enjoy the George Washington National Forest, which this property sits near, then the rusticness and age can be overlooked. Everything you need to enjoy your stay is in the cabin, as the host told me: just bring food. The cabin is basically ready to be lived in when you walk in the door. Be aware; the property adjacent the small creek the cabin sits on is a summer camp. At the time of our stay there was considerable noise intermittently during the day and evening, and since the area is basically one long small valley between two mountains, sound travels far. Still, it is a comfy, cozy place to stay with a tiny town (the burger at Mack’s was awesome) and some frankly stunning mountain hikes adjacent. I’d highly recommend it for a family, I could see how kids would absolutely love it.

It's great to hear you enjoyed the nearby hikes and Mack's burgers and our tiny town. We also appreciate your honest feedback about the cabin's age. It's an older cabin with plenty of character, and we're continually making updates and improvements while preserving its rustic charm. We recently installed a new metal roof and replaced the leaking skylight. We do need to get that minor water stain painted. Your comments are helpful as we prioritize future maintenance. Regarding the nearby summer camp, we appreciate you mentioning it for future guests. The camp is active seasonally, and while many guests enjoy the peaceful setting along the creek, while you cannot see the camp we do understand that occasionally the mealtime bugle calls or distant singing can be heard. Thank you again for staying with us and for recommending the cabin to families. We'd love to host you again on your next visit to the mountains!

A perfect getaway

We loved the screened in porch. It was perfect for quiet summer nights. And the A/C inside was a much needed break from the heat. House is very well maintained and there were no bugs inside! Made a campfire one night and cooked on the grill another. Will come back

Beautiful cabin

It was everything we hoped it would be. The host was very informative with places to go. She sent a long email about things we should know once we got to the cabin. How to work lights inside and out how to work the air conditioning units etc. We did not need to contact her about anything she covered all of it. We really enjoyed our stay. I highly recommend this rental. . You literally need clothes and your food for your stay. We will definitely go back. Very clean beautiful and relaxing

Very Charming Cabin and Excellent Host

We loved the cabin, very comfortable and charming. The screened porch outside was excellent and we spent most of our time there. The road noise was a little higher than we expected but not bad. Also, there was a kids camp across the creek bed that provided happy sounds but it was a little noisy at times. Finally, the creek was a bit on the dry side though I suspect that it was seasonal as many of the water features we observed in the area were low. Wardensville was a nice quiet little town that was fun to visit. Overall, a nice, relaxing getaway with an excellent host!

Beautiful house right on the River and at the entrance to George Washington National Forest

This is a great house and Gayle was great to work with too. The best parts about the house was that it was clean, comfy, had all the amenities of home and was right on the river. Gayle gave us great tips on what to do in town and we had a great time hiking to Tibbet Knob (same parking lot as Big Schloss). The only thing that I could improve our experience would be to have a couple of wifi repeaters to improve the wifi connection in the kitchen and on the back porch. That being said, being unplugged can be blissful and we look forward to visiting again!! :-)

Fantastic cabin - perfect for a restful weekend away

Our family (my husband, myself, and our four teenage children) had a fabulous time this weekend at the Cabin at trout run. There were plenty of beds for all (I wasn't sure since there aren't photos online of every room) and gayle had them all made up for us when we arrived. The creek runs just behind the house and we spent hours in the screened porch eating, talking and playing games. Several of us took advantage of a few hours without rain to hike Big Schloss trail - it was beautiful! But mostly we hung out at the cabin since we had rain most of the weekend. We had everything we needed to cook meals, make coffee, etc. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Thanks for everything Gayle!

Perfect!!

The cabin was ideal! So spacious but cozy too. The kitchen had everything we needed, we just supplied the food. Very clean. So welcoming. We had a long weekend with our three college-aged boys, and it was wonderful. We sat on the screened in porch any time we weren't enjoying the spacious yard. So private. The creek was low but still gurgled for us and was a real treat right outside of the cabin. We loved the antiques and "cabin" feel even though the cabin felt more like a home. We are ready to move in, if it ever is sold!!! :) Absolutely a wonderful choice. Our family would highly recommend this VRBO!! Thanks for sharing with us!!

The houses location situated on the creek was idyllic. The screen porch made the weekend. Hear the creek and the birds and relax and hang out there even in the rain. You’re also lots of games that I’m using. Everything was very clean and there was everything we needed. Location was convenient for hiking kayaking, visiting small towns and just exploring. Owner was very communicative and offered suggestions for the area. Very enjoyable.

Peaceful Retreat

My friend and I came to sit on the screened in porch and enjoy the “babbling brook.” It was lovely! Rainy weather the whole time but it was a cozy getaway few days. Would love to stay here again! The owner, Gayle, was very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed.!

Amazing Labor Day

This house is amazing and Gayle was so helpful and quick to answer any questions. We had so much fun at this property. The beds are very comfortable and the house is just adorable. Everything you cold possibly need was there. We have family in Wardensville so we already knew about many of the places to go and see but it was so neat that was all there for new comers. I really can’t say how much we enjoyed our stay and hope to do it again.
