The unit itself was clean , but wasnt accommodated with heating . It was very cold . We also had random knocks on the door in the middle of the night .. also area is okay , but someone asked did we need any crack .. also you should take a bath rather than a shower , draining in tub was -5/10 . Like the reviews said , only good for sleeping if you plan on staying out all night…

Amazing stay

The property was nice, and very secure for a single person. The space was clean and big. The area feels a bit empty in terms of stores and restaurants near by but it is very close to Newark-Penn station (about 6-10 USD by uber) which leads to NYC. It is also close to a fire and police station so it can be a bit noisy at times and as a basement apartment it’s a little noisy with the people that live there as well. Overall listing is as advertised and I didn’t experience any problems with the stay or the host :) would stay again.

Cozy!

Needed this for a last minute booking. Property owner was very communicative and polite. Home itself was cozy and comfortable. Area not the best but we still felt safe. Thanks!

Stay at Newark Chalet

The property was clean and we felt safe in the unit as there were iron doors in addition to the wooden door. The neighborhood did not look safe. Lot of homeless people on the streets. Few things in the unit can make the stay more comfortable like large size towels and shampoo. The mattress had the plastic bag which made the sleeping experience uncomfortable. There is a plastic rug like thing in the living room which can be a tripping hazard.

Don’t stay here you will feel safe and uncomfortable!!!

The stay was good. The lady lives right upstairs. We talked to her. She was very nice. We most definitely respected her rules. The lady stated after three weeks of us, leaving that we broke her rules Why would we break her rules if she was right upstairs with cameras everywhere it’s sad that the lady was so nice she stated also she had to buy heavy clean equipment for her freezer when the drink in the freezer was frozen when we bought it from a smoothie place and the drink didn’t spill we checked everything before we left. What I didn’t like is was she lied because she can and it’s sad because now I feel like my stay wasn’t worth it I wouldn’t stay here due to the fact that the lady told me I should marry my boyfriend if I’m going to do things with him again she lives upstairs and the door connected to the room is also apart of her house I just felt like I had no privacy and I felt like every time we left to go somewhere she went in there while we was gone but I could be wrong ! I have a good history with staying places everywhere I go I would never break anyone’s rules especially if they are right upstairs she stated it smelt like strong weed when we never even smoked in her house anytime we did anything it was in Manhattan we wasn’t barely there and never rarely ate in the place it’s very small no tv in the room and it’s not somewhere I would stay again

Me and my daughter stayed for 4 days. The place itself is very cozy, clean, and comforting. The neighborhood isn't too bad :). Theres plenty of little corner stores where you get get anacks and its easy to order food.
