This is the first time we’ve received feedback indicating that the music caused a negative experience for a guest. We do disclose this in our listing so guests are aware of the surrounding environment. Music typically ends around midnight, and the city ordinance requires venues to stop outdoor music by around 10 p.m. Your stay happened to fall on a weekend when there were several events in the area, which likely made things busier than usual. Many guests reach out before booking to ask about the neighborhood, and we are always happy to provide details. After your reservation, we also sent a message asking if you had any additional questions, but we did not receive any concerns at that time. Regarding the coffee pot, it had been left behind by a previous guest and was stored in a locked lost-and-found area while waiting to be picked up. We’re not sure how it ended up accessible, but we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Our cancellation policy is firm, but we still tried to offer a solution. We let you know that if you checked out by 11 a.m., we could provide a 50% refund. Since checkout occurred around 3 p.m., which prevented us from preparing the unit for another reservation, we instead provided a prorated refund. VRBO also reviewed the situation and confirmed that issuing a refund was at our discretion. When my assistant stopped by to drop off extra shampoo and soap, the intention was simply to be helpful. There was no intention to make anyone feel uncomfortable. We’re proud that our property has consistently received excellent reviews across platforms, particularly regarding cleanliness and readiness. We always encourage guests to reach out through the app if they have questions or concerns during their stay so we can address them promptly.
