I would suggest new towels and bedding. I washed while I visited, but they are dingy and old. Lighting in the home was problematic as well. I enjoy cooking, but the lights in the kitchen were very dim and at times wouldn’t light up. On my down time from walking the river etc… the courtyard smells terrible from the dumpsters that were unmentioned.

Great location and the manger was great to communicate with. The only suggestion would be that I realize it is a very historic building but the tub/shower is unsafe for older people. Very slippery and you have to step down into it.

This is an amazing gem! Located right in rhe heart of town you are steps away from coffee, ice cream, plenty of restaurants, and bars. Spend the day exploring town or hiking and enjoy coffee/drinks by the peaceful river. Kitchen was well stocked but we must admit with so many food choices we didn't cook. Salida is a beautiful town with lots of history. I would LOVE to stay here again!

Excellent accommodation for 2 people, less than 100 feet from the Arkansas River in the heart of of historic downtown Salida and in close proximity of restaurants and retail shops. Lots of tourist energy and noise during the day and early evening, but quiet and peaceful by bedtime. Enjoyed chilling on the patio following our daytrip adventures.

Location is amazing , very private and quiet for being in the middle of everything. It was very clean and the temperature was perfect. I really can’t say enough about how comfortable and welcoming the place is. So great that they have provided many amenities, great WiFi ! I want to come back every year!!

Great little place right in the middle of the businesses but still quiet. The back patio a little oasis for morning coffee and afternoon cocktails. Concerned however that the cute little bush with pretty berries (and lovely fragrance on the spring I’m sure). Is actually a bush honeysuckle. It is terribly invasive and has already done in your aspen. Should probably get rid of it and watch for others around town.

Check in was great. No problems. Enclosed area for the dogs to run around. Very dark inside. Only one room with a windows. And bulbs are very low wattage. We both tripped several times on a step to the bedroom. Kitchen was outfitted with everything you need to cook with other than low light. The living room had a smell like pee in the couch. We cleaned it and the paper towel was yellow that we used to wipe it down with. Coffee table was black when we wiped that down. Smell went away. Rent was close to downtown and very convenient to everything.

Perfect location!

We loved the location and easy mud room and doggie door access for our dog when we were out and about. We usually bring a blanket for our dog to fluff up but there was even a big comfy dog bed for him to sleep on! The patio was perfect for friends coming and going to say hi throughout the day, the huge living area was nice to have, and the bed was super comfy! We did not take advantage of the washer and dryer but were impressed to see them (we clearly didn't read the listing too thoroughly...) and glad to take advantage of the iron and full-sized ironing board for wedding outfits. We can't wait to stay here again!

Great location!

Can’t beat the location! The place was dusty for me, and the bathroom could use a remodel. However, it was an overall comfortable spot for our dogs and us to stay!! The bedroom was odd (with the window going to the mudroom/storage) but after getting over the cavelike feel, we actually slept quite well!

I am the manager/owner of Arlie Dale's Jug Liquors, a boutique wine shop, which is located on the front side of the building from Rocco's by the river vacation rental. Born and raised in the area my family purchased this property and we re-opened the Liquor Store in 2003. The Jug is the oldest liquor store location in Salida,CO. My wife Angela is a Clinical Aesthetician (skin care specialist) and owns and operates her studio in Salida and also in Florence. She is very particular and over-sees all housekeeping and takes a lot of pride in making sure the comforts of Rocco's is your best experience while staying there. We really loved living in the residence with our dogs for nine years before we turned it into a rental. Living there was absolutely amazing and a lot of fun, we are glad to let everyone else enjoy the same experience!

We purchased this live/work property because at the time Salida had no liquor stores in the downtown area. This location had historically been a liquor store since prohibition ended except the two years prior to when we purchased it.

Being an avid kayaker at the time of the purchase life couldn't have been much sweeter for me. Living in a live/work unit that is a liquor store steps from the Salida Whitewater Park was a dream come true! Working on the space with my family and making it ours has been an experience of a lifetime. We hope you enjoy it!
