The Aquarium Condo at Hacienda de la Tortuga is the most unique place in Akumal. Directly on the beach with a huge terrace overlooking the Caribbean ocean. Fantastic snorkeling steps away from your front door. Enjoy beachfront living at its best. When you stay at The Aquarium, you never have to get out of the sea. Akumal means 'Place of the Turtle' for hundreds of years and now also known as the 'Place of Murals'. Artists from all over the world have been flocking to Akumal for over 10 years to compete to paint the most coveted spots in Akumal Pueblo and Beach. One of the best known local muralists has painted The Aquarium from floor to ceiling with vibrant underwater life. Relax in The Aquarium and channel your inner mermaid!
The Aquarium is in Hacienda de la Tortuga, a condo building with only 10 units making it very private and relaxed. Right on the beach in Half Moon Bay. The condo is spacious (over 900 sq. ft.) and centrally located in Akumal with wonderful snorkeling steps away. Laze on the spacious balcony in your hammock, take your coffee down to your own palapa on the beach and watch the sun rise. The condo is equipped with a full kitchen, living & dining areas, a separate king size master bedroom and Spanish style bathroom. It's close to everything the Riviera Maya has to offer while private, charming and tranquil. Included in your stay are all your linens, beach and bath towels, beach loungers & palapas, daily maid service, free WIFI, free purified water and A/C in the spacious bedroom (note AC is in the bedroom only). The only thing we overlook is the sea!
The Aquarium condo is located on the 2nd floor of Hacienda de la Tortuga with a beautiful and quiet beach front location with an amazing view of the Caribbean sea. If you love the sea, snorkeling, diving in crystal clear waters of the warm Caribbean Sea the Aquarium Condo is perfect for you. When you stay at the Aquarium Condo you feel as if you never got out of the ocean. Sip a cool drink on the balcony while you listen to waves lapping on the white sand just steps away from your front door. The refreshing ocean front pool offers another option to cool off. The only building in Akumal offering room and beach service from our onsite restaurant, La Lunita.
