This host went above and beyond to make sure that my wedding weekend was nothing short of perfection. Not only did they have amenities especially for the preparation of my big day upon asking, but they also decorated the front porch to be more aesthetically pleasing for getting ready photos. I can’t wait to get pictures and video back so I can share another review to show just how beautiful this historic home was.

perfect apartment!

The place was the perfect location for downtown Mt Clemens. Host was so sweet and nice . Could not have asked for more form a host or space. 5 stars !!!

Location

We ended up not going into the house at all- I am sure it was clean and adorable but when arriving there was A LOT of people in the area all over and we were told not to park in the driveway- there were cars filling the street and the area was not what we thought it would be- now, it was the 4th of July so this might have been a fluke type day for how active this area was but we did not feel safe leaving our vehicles down the road closer to the pawn shop and walking with our littles in the area with how active the area was. We notified the owner we would not be checking in but no questions were asked regarding why or if there were issues- safety is our biggest priority and upon arrival we did not feel it was a safe area and ended up booking a hotel. Like I said the house itself looked like the pictures but I should have checked the area on google maps before check it. This might have been a once in a lifetime situation that we happened to deal with unfortunately. Owner was very responsive with questions prior to arriving so no complaints there I just didn't ask the right questions.

Immediately noticed a strong and unpleasant smell throughout the house, the floor and carpet was not cleaned or vacuumed. A very dirty crusty sock was found by one of my kids between the couch cushions. There was an "air conditioner" in the dining area but it is an upstairs unit and the window ac was not close to sufficient to cool the unit, especially the bedrooms. It was very hot and we were on vacation with outdoor activities planned, so the fact that we had no escape or relief from the summer heat on our trip was devastating. Many items listed on the overview were not there. There was no fan in the small bathroom to help vent moist warm air from showering in the already hot apartment. The bathtub was peeling fresh paint on our feet during all of our showers. We were given towels late, even though we checked in later than the posted check-in time, and then we were not even given enough towels for each of us to have one. There was a broken wine bottle left in the freezer with spilled wine in it upon check in. The one hand towel left in the kitchen was soiled from the previous tenant. We ended up leaving on our last night there due to the fact that the unpleasant smell intensified and we knew we would not be able to sleep due to the heat. I stayed up and drove 7.5 hours home overnight rather than stay our second night in this place.The neighborhood was active but not bad. The hostess was pleasant and replied to communications in a timely manner.
