Charming Cottage in Central Salem

Thank you for your feedback. We take cleanliness seriously and work hard to provide every guest with a comfortable stay. We do wish these concerns had been brought up during the visit, especially considering much of our communication before arrival centered around requests for an earlier and earlier check-in time, which we worked hard to accommodate. We also clearly communicate our house rules, including parking instructions, which exist specifically to protect landscaping and avoid damage. Unfortunately, these guidelines were not followed during this stay. As for bugs—we perform regular cleaning and pest control, but being surrounded by nature occasionally means a few determined bugs ignore the rules. It seems you have that in common. We were also surprised to receive these comments after checkout given that property damage occurred during the stay, including a broken vacuum that somehow did not make it to the end of your visit. That mystery may never be solved. After multiple years of hosting, this was the first guest experience where we felt it was appropriate to leave less than a 5-star guest review. Given the rule violations, property damage, and post-stay refund demands, we felt it was important to be honest in our assessment. We wish you the best in your future travels and hope your next stay is a better fit.
