This place was clean, quiet and comfortable. Close to amenities and easy to get to Ottawa Frome here.

Great stay in Gatineau

Luis’ place was excellent! Clean and cozy close to everything! Luis was good to check in. Would certainly stay again.

Simple in Gatineau

The furnishings were very basic with stains on the sofa cushions. Not all the ceiling lights had bulbs. There were no face cloths for washing up, the place was very clean.

Commercial area, not as clean as pictured

Overall I would not recommend this one. While the host was nice enough and check-in was easy, this was not worth saving a little money. It's in a very commercial, high-traffic area, so there's noise and it doesn't feel exactly safe. The exterior was very overgrown and the high grass and weeds caused awful mosquitoes. So bad that the backyard was unusable and just getting into your car let the mosquitoes inside. The host was unable to help us get the AC on (thermostat was not working). The host did check in and I informed him that it wasn't as clean as pictured and he just said that lawn maintenance was coming Friday (we would checkout by Thursday morning, so this didn't help us). Overall I definitely wouldn't recommend this place.

First the good…The unit is a lovely two bedroom, on the first floor of a multi unit property. It’s clean & centrally located, with options for food and shopping. Slightly older, but quaint, with everything needed. Check-in was easy. There is one air conditioner in the unit, so the second bedroom was hot, causing my children to stay with me in my room to remain cool during the evening. Unfortunately, our short stay was marred by two events. On our first day, an unknown man taking pictures of our car and the driveway where we were parked. I repeatedly reached out to the owner, VRBO and subsequently the police. VRBO also reached out repeatedly to the owner. It took hours for us to get the first contact back, and the he subsequently came by about six hours later (which I appreciated). On the 2nd day, we were locked out of our unit after seeing a play and returning home at 10:45. Once again, I contacted Luis and VRBO. Once again, the responses were not timely. We would get a response…then nothing. VRBO would reach out, but said they received no response. After we were outside for almost an hour and change, AND missed required medication…he then advised that there were spare keys in the backyard that we could’ve used earlier to enter the home. I reached out with my concerns on our last day there, and have heard nothing back. If you do rent the unit, please be aware that timely communication may or may not occur. It just happened that we needed and didn’t receive it.
