Come and enjoy this cabin like home. The feeling of visiting the family's cabin during the summer comes to mind when I think of our home. The simplicity of life is felt when you stay here. The ability to slow it down to have fires outside, cook meals or even play board games together is what your stay could entail.

The house was as advertised. Very clean and comfortable. We didn’t have children but it is kid friendly! It was perfect for us 4 adults!

Overall the property suited our needs great! Everything was satisfactorily clean, amenities were well stocked (kitchenware, laundry/cleaning supplies & even fire wood for the backyard pit) & there were toys/ games to use indoors & out. The only real complaint would be the water quality, bathroom fixtures had visible rust residue and the water had an unpleasant odor.

The house was very clean and as advertised. Great for 6-7 people! I would definitely stay there again. Nice for privacy as you are out of the city, but it is only 10-15 minute drive into holland which is very convenient. Highly recommend!

We loved our stay at this cute, cozy house. It was very relaxing and was in secluded location but close to Holland and Saugatuck. We had a great time. We would definitely stay again!

Perfect house for our family. Easy to get to Holland but also very private. The kids loved the welcome s’more kit which went perfect with the fire pit and pre split wood.

This is a sweet property with great outdoor spaces; a deck, fire pit, paths through a woods. Inside was clean & inviting. The kitchen had all I needed for my stay, plus some extras; white wine in the fridge, fixings for s'mores (!), lots of spices & a hot drinks area. I was there for a family wedding & the hosts were very accommodating to our needs. I had a really nice weekend there!

Close to downtown Holland and Saugatuck - quick drives to beaches. Cute and clean home with personal touches for guests. Enjoyed a bon fire, dinner on the back deck, and breakfast overlooking the back wooded yard. I would book here again for sure!

We enjoyed the peaceful setting with our son, daughter-in-law and grandson. It is very child friendly and our grandson enjoyed discovering the toys. It was a relaxing retreat.

Let’s start with the pros:- the hosts are quick to respond to messages and seem like good & reasonable people- we enjoyed the many card and board games in the family room - uno, monopoly (my kids played for the first time and now love), connect 4, etc- my kids enjoyed playing with the toys in one of the closets - Barbie’s, duplos, etc. There are also kids books to read for bedtime.- my kids also enjoyed the see-saw in the backyard- kitchen is well stocked, so do check before getting groceries! (There’s multiples of oil for cooking, etc). - there’s a water dispenser in the dining room that can dispense hot water to make tea, etcCons:- only 1 major prob: the water tastes like iron/blood. Luckily there’s a jug of water available both in the fridge and in the back room for drinking. Unfortunately, that terrible taste was unavoidable when showering, or if we forgot to use bottled water to brush our teeth or wash fruits for eating, etc. 1 person in our party ended up moving to a hotel after the first night. The rest of us ended leaving a day early.- this next one I blame on vrbo and not the hosts: when I brought the above issue up to the hosts they apologized…and apparently also replied with an offer to end our stay early and to reimburse us for the remaining days. Unfortunately that latter part of the message somehow was delayed in delivery so I didn’t see it until I went back to let them know that we had checked out…we would’ve taken up on that had we known!

This was a really great stay! The place is so cute, and cozy. Felt right at home. They thought of a lot of little things you may need too, which was really considerate. The place is so close to Holland, Saugatuck, and Douglas. It was so quick and easy to get wherever we wanted to go. Only downside was for some of us the cell service was spotty but the good wifi made it so it didnt cause an issue.

Loved this home for our family of 6! It was very clean and had everything we needed. Loved the coffee bar and the cute old-school scoreless! Beds were very comfy and it was close to the sights we wanted to visit in Saugatuck. Easy communication with host. Thanks again!

Theresa I wish you would have reached out to me about the shower faucet because it was not broken just an older style one. As for the lights in the bedroom they are battery operated in which I didn't realize that they needed to be recharged but I will be a note to do that more often. Thanks again

Upon arrival, the refrigerator was dirty and covered in mold. The grill was dirty with old food and caked on grease. The host reached out on the 3rd day to inquire about the stay. I reported the issues above. The host apologized about the conditions of the home and offered to send someone to clean. At that time 1 day remained in our trip. Furthermore, the description stated a grill was avaliable. Truthfully, a blacktop was offered. We couldnot BBQ as planned. I did not complain. I made due. Under the host house rules, it states "Smoking allowed: in designated areas" The host did not post where these areas were specifically so we did not smoke in the house. I personally cleaned,washed and folded all towels. The home was left in a better condition than what we found it in. A few hours after our departure, the host sent a message stating that the cleaning crew said the home smelled of cigarettes, an air humidifier was purchased and extra cleaning had to be completed. The same cleaning crew that missed a dirty blacktop and moldy refrigerator (two conditions that are unsanitary& unsafe) is being trusted again? The host is fearful that I would file a compliant in regard to the refrigerator & blacktop. Now, the host is trying to file a false damage to property claim against me. How does the host know the cleaning crew did not smoke in the home if she wasn't initially present for inspection?I am appauled by these false accusations. I'm left wondering if this site is a scam!

I'm truly sorry about the outcome of your stay. I do wish it ended better than it did. I did reach out the next day after checking in to see on how things were going since I was not able to do an inspection before your arrival. You did talk about the black top and the refrigerator and I did offer to send someone out to clean it for you, but you didn't think it was needed. The real problem came when I inspected the house when you departed. The house smelled like cigarettes smoke and weed. The smoke was now embedded in everything that was of any type of fabric or carpet. There was even cigarettes ashes in the window sills, and the listing did say "no smoking".

We appreciated that this cottage could be booked for five days instead of requiring a full-week stay, which worked perfectly for our vacation.Finding the cottage was a little challenging at first because the driveway is very hidden. We drove past it a couple of times before realizing where it was. Once we arrived, our first impression was that it is an older cottage that has been updated by the owner.Unfortunately, the biggest issue was the refrigerator. It appears to be an extremely old unit, and the door seal was covered in black mold. We even tried scrubbing it ourselves, but the mold would not come off. In our opinion, this is a serious health concern. We decided not to contact the owner during our stay because there really wasn’t a practical solution other than replacing the refrigerator, which would have been a major disruption for a short five-day visit.Instead, we had to purchase a cooler and keep buying ice throughout our stay so we could safely store our food. That was an unexpected expense. We only used the refrigerator and freezer for tightly sealed items because we weren’t comfortable storing leftovers or any exposed food in a refrigerator with visible mold.The shower could also use some attention. Before using it, I cleaned the showerhead with a Clorox wipe because it had rust and buildup on it, and there were several rusty areas throughout the shower. It wasn’t enough to ruin our stay, but it definitely could benefit from some updating and maintenance.
