Acerca de este alojamiento
Cozy A-Frame Cabin | Lakefront Getaway in Nature
This 1970s lakefront cedar cabin is nestled into a wooded acre on Crystal Lakes, a spring fed lake with historical waters, 8 minutes from downtown Excelsior Springs and 40 minutes from downtown Kansas City. This home is your haven to tune in to the rhythms of the seasons, to slow down and connect back to yourself or the ones you love.
The cabin's design imitates nature with its high ceilings and large windows, filling the space with natural light and immersing you into the surroundings. There is one bedroom with a queen sized bed, one bathroom, and a full kitchen. The furnishings pay homage to the simple things in life and bring a feeling of modern nostalgia. Drifting your memories to times of summer camp and vacations to the mountains. The living room has a cozy couch and a well-stocked bookshelf, encouraging you to sink into the moment by yourself or with someone you love. The wood burning fireplace adds to the ambiance during colder seasons.
Outside the home awaits a paradise of wildlife, including 3 resident eagles, herons, beaver and the occasional otter! The wooded lakefront land is rightfully the star of the show. Take a canoe out on the lake, pick some herbs straight out of the garden for your meals and end your day under the stars with a bonfire by the water. For those who prefer to spend their time cooking outside, there is a grill and dining set on the large deck attached to the cabin.
Intentionally this home does not have screens of any kind. However, we do have high speed internet for those looking to stay and work remotely.
All household products have been thoughtfully chosen to be organic and natural, creating a toxin free environment and freeing your mind to focus on healing and relaxation.
The Elms Resort and Spa is 10 minutes from the cabin and offers day passes for anyone wanting to use the grottos or spa facilities. Watkins Mill State Park is under 15 minutes from the cabin along with a handful of wineries all under a 20 minute drive. The Hall of Waters is also an amazing free activity to learn the unique history of Excelsior Springs.
Guests will have access to the entire outside property. The lake waters are best suited for paddling (ie: canoe, kayaks) vs swimming. The cabin has a canoe you can take or you can pay a small fee to access the lake with your own personal kayaks or paddle boards. Inside guests have access to the main living areas including: bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining area and kitchen. The second bedroom and basement are off limits, reserved for the homeowners storage.
Guests will be able to contact Rylie through the airbnb app and will be given a phone number to call for emergencies.
Just northeast of Excelsior Springs off Y highway is the small community of Crystal Lakes, Missouri. It is in western Ray County, Missouri with a population of approximately 358 people from the 2010 Census.
Crystal Lakes is comprised of five lakes, one main lake off the East Fork Fishing River with four small lakes surrounding it.
The community is gravel roads. The cabin sits on a private drive with ample parking. This home is not suitable for children/infants.

My co-host and I are designers who thrive on creating spaces and experiences that help people return to the simple things in life: time in nature, laughter with friends, sinking into a good book, or enjoying a glass of wine with a view. Some of the most profound moments that have shaped the way we live have come from exceptional hospitality experiences. We know firsthand the power of stepping away from daily routines, disconnecting from the noise of our busy world, and rediscovering what truly connects us to our human nature.
This cabin is an ongoing project we take great pride in. The home, in its pure state, radiates such good energy. As hosts, it's our job to thoughtfully curate every detail within the space to ensure your stay is as comfortable and inspiring as possible.

Por qué escogió este alojamiento
We believe Crystal Lakes is an undiscovered gem in the Kansas City area, and we are grateful to call a little piece of its magic home. The area feels like a wildlife sanctuary - we regularly see deer, coyotes, eagles, beavers, and even the occasional otter! The lake is also part of various migration patterns, so throughout the year, you’ll see a array of birds, including herons, great white egrets, pelicans, orioles, swans, seagulls, and more. It’s incredibly quiet and peaceful, our neighbors are kind, and with minimal light pollution, the stargazing is absolutely gorgeous!
Qué hace que este alojamiento sea especial
The cabin was designed to feel like an exhale. A place where every detail has a purpose. Our space blends modern design with nostalgic touches, using natural textures, warm wood tones, and vintage-inspired furnishings to create a sense of calm and connection. From the high cedar ceilings and sunlight pouring through the large windows to the simple, well-chosen pieces that tell a story, everything is intentionally placed to invite you to slow down. It’s not just a stay - it’s the feeling that is created in being here. Grounded, inspired, and at home in nature.
