I’m so glad that we booked the Tea House. It was even more beautiful in person. We spent our days in Volcano NP (less than a 10 minute drive away) and after long days of adventuring were happy to turn on the fireplace, relax in the tub, and curl up in the super comfortable bed. The space was so peaceful and inviting. The host was very friendly and easy to communicate with. We would love to stay here again.

Absolutely amazing stay! Made our honeymoon experience extremely special. Definitely the perfect spot if looking for something private, romantic and relaxed. We would highly recommend the tea cottage to others. We were sad to leave but know we will be back for another great escape.

Volcano treasure

If you want to stay close to the park or just enjoy ultimate price y, this is the best place to choose. We loved our 3 night stay and could have extended for days longer. The house is so well equipped and spacious. It’s also incredibly private. A wonderful experience and just minutes from VNP. I would not hesitate to book . We hiked all day and could not wait to return to the hot tub and comfortable bed. I stay in 4-5 star hotels 75 niches per head and the tea house exceeded my expectations.

We enjoyed an excellent stay at this lovely property. It's clear the hosts take great care with every detail, and their communication is top notch and very thorough. The decor and architecture is beautiful and makes for a very relaxing stay. We enjoyed the fireplace and the soaking tub, and the proximity to the stunning Volcanoes National Park. We hope to return!

We chose Volcano because our friends brought us here on a "staycation" to check out the area, and we absolutely fell in love with the area. Volcano is different from other parts of Hawaii, which makes it special. Here, we are surrounded by lush forest and native plants and flowers, and we appreciate cooler temperatures. We enjoy visits to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and its hiking trails, Volcano Winery, Akatsuka Orchid Gardens, the local farmers market, a variety of local restaurants, and an easy drive to Hilo town.

Japanese culture has had a lasting influence on the culture of Hawaii. Japanese immigration to Hawaii began in the late 1800s. Japanese business people and workers came to Hawaii in search of opportunity and eventually settled here. The Japanese influence can be seen throughout Hawaii in art, architecture, and our local foods. The Tea House Cottage was built in 2014 to celebrate the close bond between Hawaii and Japan. In Volcano, our local stores and school were founded by immigrants from Japan and are a treasured part of our community. We hope that you will enjoy the clean aesthetics and natural influences of the Tea House Cottage. We love this property, and we hope you will too.
